At the age of 17, Chartuni Castro formed the group Ragga Son Life with Mario Mena, releasing their first single "Dime lo que tu quieres" in local radio stations and Medellín. That same year, Chartuni Castro changed his stage name to Big Yamo and released his debut album Haciendo música sin sabe pa’ Kien.
