Nicholas Annand (born December 20, 1979), known professionally as Deekline, was a British breakbeat, breakstep, and UK garage producer and DJ from London, England. Recognized as the innovator of breakstep, Annand began collecting records at age 10 before becoming the owner of the pirate radio station Flex FM. In 1999, he founded Rat Records and released the single “I Don't Smoke”, which reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart in 2000. Annand released the compilation Beat Freaks (2001) and the collaboration Breaks, Beats and Blondes (2004) with Wizard. In 2009, he co-founded the label Jungle Cakes and released the mix CD Hardcore Beats. He opened the online clothing store Bass Boutique in 2011 and reworked his debut hit as “Don't Smoke 2014”. Annand collaborated with various producers, including Ed Solo, Tim Healey, and DJ Fresh.
