Hortêncio Gilberto Teles (August 8, 2003) is a Mozambican rapper, better known by his stage name Ricky Bashar or simply Ricky.
He is the founder and CEO of the hip-hop record label Checkmate Nation, which he established in 2023.
Ricky dedicates his life to the musical genre of rap, sharing emotional and entertaining messages in his projects about the current world.
Ricky was born in the city of Maxixe, the commercial capital of the province of Inhambane, in Mozambique.
Currently, he collaborates with several record labels such as LMBO Studios, Bashar Studios, among others.
Growing up, Ricky was surrounded by older siblings who had a favorite style of Hip-Hop/Rap, and under their influence, he followed suit. At the age of 16, he took his first steps into the music world alongside Lil Dollar TRLeYoung Scotch. Together, they formed their first group called "Real Gang," which was a subgroup of "The Grand Gang," his older brother's artistic/musical group.
