Martina Magionami, aka La Marti, is a singer-songwriter from Florence, Italy.
Her music is a blend of folk and country with indie/alt-pop influences.
On stage her delicate and neat voice crosses her fingerpicking and flat-picking acoustic guitar skills,
while in studio she adds textures and sounds combined with electric guitars and other instruments
from her collection (such as mandolin, ukulele, melodica and harmonica to mention a few).
In a precarious balance between irony and melancholy, the stories she tells are both fictional and
biographical, with lyrics in Italian and English, which can be found in streaming. In autumn 2023
the EP LOOP was released, a collection of moments of ordinary madness with songs for those who
experience routine like a noose around their neck, for the misunderstood artist, for lives broken in
an instant, for those with an emotional dependence, to give comfort in a moment of difficulty. The
release of a new EP, Anime Fragili, is scheduled for spring 2024.
The English single The Virgin's Fountain (2022), aired on some podcasts and web radios in
America and Australia. The story of a man who -secretly- mourns the loss of his true love
consolidates the production of a collection of songs written and/or performed with many artists
from the UK, USA and Norway (e.g. Peter Dulborough, James Lanman, Nanne-Emelie).
She played for the first Prato edition of Sofar Sounds in June 2022 and continues to perform in
various clubs and many open mic nights, especially in Tuscany.
