CARPE DIEM : Groupe de Rock/Prog créé en 1970. 3 albums chez MUSEA Records. Réédition Vinyle chez LION Productions (USA)
Christian TRUCHI founded in 1969 in Nice, a first group of "Progressive Rock" with childhood friends Claude Méchard and Roger Farhi. After various concerts in the Nice region, the formation was recomposed in 1970 with new musicians Gilbert Abbenanti (guitar), Alain Berge (bass). The group becomes “CARPE DIEM”. He evaluated for 4 years in clubs (Golf Drouot, Gibus) and other French scenes, alternating his own compositions with covers. In 1974, the group decided to devote itself mainly to its music. On this occasion 2 new musicians, Alain Faraut (drums) and Marius David (sax/flute) join CARPE DIEM. 1975/1976: recording of 2 LPs: “En regardant passer le temps” (Arcane / WEA), “Cueille le jour” (Crypto / RCA). 1977: arrival of Georges Ferrero (bass) and Gérald Macia (guitar / violin). 1978: preparation of a third LP but absence of distribution will leave this album unfinished. The band broke up in 1979 after performing around 400 shows. Christian TRUCHI reformed the group at the beginning of 2015 to produce and perform this 3rd album started in 1978: "CIRCONVOLUTIONS", offers 50 minutes of unpublished music. (MUSEA Records) “With this new album, “CARPE DIEM” draws its strength from what is the very essence of progressive music. At the borders of Rock, Classical and Jazz, this 3rd opus synthesizes these various influences to keep only the matrix of the unique sound of "CARPE DIEM".
