R&B singer Vedo was born Wilbart McCoy III on February 25, 1993, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He began singing at the age of 9 and later continued to develop his songwriting and performing skills during his adolescence in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2013, Vedo rose to fame as a member of Usher's team on the fourth season of the famed singing competition The Voice, finishing in the Top 12 and showcasing his talents to a wider audience. His participation in the show helped him land a deal with the independent label Platinum Power Moves, which released his studio debut 93 in 2015. Boasting a sound heavily influenced by '90s R&B and hip-hop, the album established him as a force to be reckoned with in the urban music scene through the streaming hit single "4 Walls," a duet with fellow singer Natasha Mosley. This success was followed by a string of well-received releases such as the EP State of Mind (2016) and the albums From Now On (2017), and Vedo (2019), but it was For You (2020) that finally catapulted him to stardom, accruing hundreds of millions of streams thanks to the single "You Got It." His fifth studio effort, 1320, saw the light in 2021 and featured guest spots by Ari Lennox, Jacquees, and Eric Bellinger. A similar roster of guests showed up in his 2023 full-length Mood Swings, which yielded the Top 40 R&B single "Do You Mind." In 2024, Vedo released a series of singles – “Pull Over,” “Spinn on You,” and “Your Love is All I Need” – all of which were featured on the album Next Chapter.
