Rubby details the loud and quiet of the queer experience through a unique blend of Dembow, R & B, and techno, with signature seductive vocals.
Heralding his own era of gender- and genre-defying artists, Rubby earned early nods from Paper Magazine, The Fader, NowThis, and more off of tracks and videos he released online while still in college in Vermont.
In Fall 2020, Rubby returns home to New York City to make his first complete artistic statement: an all new five-track EP, “Pájaro Malo”. The bilingual, multi-genre project sees him weave together influences as different as Shakespeare and rave culture into a thumping meditation on confidence and self-discovery.
“Solo,” the first single, precedes the full EP release this Fall. Be sure to check out his work and stream his music! @rubbyvalentin
