Danish indie artist trying to slow down and be present.
Danish songwriter, producer, music maker, self-released indie artist.
Alexander Grandjean, just released his 3rd album, ‘Holy Hills’.
Grandjean wrote and recorded ‘Holy Hills’ in the mountains in Northern Italy and the hills of Los Angeles. The theme of the album is to escape the darkness of the forest and find light on top of the hill. On ‘Butterflies’, he asks: “am I falling back in odd love with life with butterflies?”.
The mood of the album is lighter and more uplifting than Grandjean’s earlier albums. Songs like ‘New Beginnings’, ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Butterflies’ talk about finding light and lifting up yourself and others. ‘Holy Hills’ comes out September 14 as Grandjean’s 3rd solo album.
Alexander Grandjean is a singer, producer, and songwriter from Denmark. He worked for other artists for 10 years but is now focusing on his solo project, which he describes as a fusion between Bon Iver, Sade, and Frank Ocean. Others have called it ‘indie folk’ and ‘forest pop’; soft nylon guitars and distorted bass meet layered indie vocals, lush reverbs and dreamy synths in a mellow trip through the Italian and Californian hills where he wrote and recorded the album.
