Biography

Daniel Martín García (February 19, 1977) is a Spanish singer-songwriter, better known as the frontman of the pop rock band El Canto del Loco. He grew up in Alalpardo, a town right outside of Madrid, and took his first steps as an actor, making appearances in several prime-time series before deciding to pursue a career in music. In 1994, Dani Martín and Iván formed El Canto del Loco, which released 5 studio albums and became one of the most successful acts in the Spanish pop scene. After the band’s breakup in 2010, he debuted as a solo artist with the single “16 Añitos,” included in his first studio effort Pequeño. The album earned him the 40 Principales award for Best Solo Artist and was followed by a promotional tour throughout Spain. Multiple collaborations ensued in the following years, including a feature on Miguel Bosé’s “Te Digo Amor” (2012) and the Tony Bennett duet “Are You Having Any Fun?,” contained in the crooner’s 2012 album Viva Duets. His next two albums, Dani Martín (2013) and La Montaña Rusa (2016), both achieved platinum sales in Spain while the compilation Grandes Éxitos y Pequeños Desastres (2017) and Lo Que Me Dé la Gana (2020) received gold certification. The latter included guest spots by Coque Malla, Joaquín Sabina, Juanes, Alejandro Sanz, and Camilo. In 2021, he returned with No, No Vuelve, whose title track peaked at Number 74 on the Spanish Singles Chart.
