Biography

From her expressive lyrics to captivating videos, Brooke proves she is a force to be reckoned with. Born and raised in small-town Warsaw, Indiana, Josephson has evolved into a pop/rock singer-songwriter/producer currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Brooke kicked off her career as a singer-actress in NYC performing in new musicals for ASCAP showcases to leading roles in productions of A Little Night Music, Gypsy, Carnival, and West Side Story, which led to roles on All My Children (ABC), Bones (FOX), ENCHANTED (Disney), Life As We Know It (WB), Good Girls (NBC), and many more. After settling down with her husband, TV/Film Producer, Barry Josephson and earning her Masters in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music, Brooke released her debut EP Live and Let Live in 2013. Shortly after, Josephson collaborated with former Geffen Records A&R exec and veteran record producer Tony Berg to produce her sophomore EP, Sexy N' Domesticated. He enlisted an elite team, Matt Chamberlain, Patrick Warren, Joel Shearer, Alan Hamptonand Grammy Mixing Engineer Shawn Everett, who worked with Elton John, David Bowie, Beck, Alanis Morissette, and more, to bring Josephson's songs to life. Josephson hopes her “sonic snapshot” of the “leggings to heels” lifestyle can empower women balancing their personal lives while working full-time. Sexy N' Domesticated is, in her own words, “for the modern day woman mastering the art of shapeshifting between wife, mom and work.” The title-track Sexy N’ Domesticated, received the Global Music Award for songwriting and best music video. Josephson also received Best Performer by American Tracks Music Awards, and received Best Video from Los Angeles CineFest, Western NY Film, Art, and Music Event (FAME), International Independent Film Awards, and others. Brooke’s latest single, Rainbow from her first self-produced EP, Showin’ Up, as well as it's Official Music Video, Directed by Michelle Bossy, have received several awards (NYCA, Munich Music Video Award, The Climate Change Music Video Award, Rome Music Video Award, Las Vegas Music Video Award, Global Music Award, Queer X Music Video, Prague Music Video Award), among others and features Brooke’s daughter Shira, along with the MUSYCA Children’s Choir, who performed at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. Josephson began production of the album in Nashville at Zac Brown's Southern Ground Studios just months before the pandemic. Her Nashville sessions feature drummer, Seth Rausch (Keith Urban) and string arrangements by Kristin Wilkinson. Josephson resumed recording in 2021 at East West Studios in Hollywood and collaborated with Grammy and Oscar Winning Engineer, Brendan Dekora on the final mixes to be released January 2022.
