Alberto Luis Zabaleta Celedón, known as Beto Zabaleta, was born on May 17, 1957, in El Molino, La Guajira, Colombia, and is a vallenato singer. Zabaleta began his career in 1977 alongside accordionist Emilio Oviedo and later joined Alberto "Beto" Villa to form the group Los Betos. The duo signed with CBS (now Sony Music) and released several notable albums, including Déjenme quererla and Parrandas inolvidables, which led to their first international tour in the United States. After disbanding in 1988, Zabaleta continued his solo career with Orángel "el Pangue" Maestre, releasing hits like "Alégrate porque vengo" and "Mi amor ideal". In 1993, he reunited with Beto Villa for the album De nuevo Zabaleta y Villa, which included successful tracks such as "Eternamente" and "Un mundo de melodías". Notable collaborations include the album Volví a soñar with Gregorio "Goyo" Oviedo in 2002, which earned a platinum disc.
