Punk Rock, Troubadours and Existentialism
"This is not a boy picks up guitar and mindlessly plays a tune. This is artistry at its finest." - Jade Guida, Rawing In The Pit
My first concert was Iron Maiden at 15, this was a gateway to becoming obsessed with the intoxicating grandeur of 70's and 80's rock. Naturally, this made me very popular and relatable going through high school in the 21st century.
Soon after I joined a heavy band as a bassist and fell into the world of hardcore and pop punk, toured around the world bit, got some neat radio play.
I finally discovered the power of song and fell in love with punk rock, I started writing my own songs, quickly becoming inspired by the likes of songwriters Butch Walker, Frank Turner, Laura Jane Grace as well as a slew of local Australian talent of the likes of Chasing Ghosts, Ruby Fields, Tiarnie, Jethro Morris... the list goes on.
Writing and releasing my own music is my new obsession and I have a brand new song out called Careless Memories, I'm very proud of how I've reshaped this Duran Duran song, Careless Memories - 2010 Remaster, I hope you enjoy.
(Of course, I have my own songs coming through very soon don't worry!)
"Life is just like jazz, we're all just making it up as we go" - Micah Schnabel
