How did Petra get into singing?
Petra was born in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Until spring 2010 she had never given a thought to singing. Due to health problems that had to be combated and the constant urge of her husband, she began to interpret various songs in her own living room.
The passion for singing was discovered and after a short time the idea was born to go public. A friendly organizer was found and this first concert was a huge success. The desire for more, on the part of the audience and Petra, was awakened.
Petra likes more and more songs and she has stopped counting how many there are. Whether dance music, table music, hits, rock'n'roll, country, swing, jazz ... from the 1920s to the present day, new titles are constantly being added. She prefers to sing her own songs.
And how did Petra become a lyricist, composer, singer and producer in one person?
In 2013, Petra met the well-known pop artist Patrick Levien, who encouraged her to write her own lyrics.
He gave her a melody, Petra wrote the lyrics and the vocal melody, her first hit "Highway To Me" was born. This was very well received, not only among web radio listeners. On “Schweizer Radio Bern”, “Highway To Me” went from zero to number 1 in the station's own hit parade, stayed there for five weeks (could not be re-elected) and was hit of the year 2013.
Petra was overwhelmed by the great feelings her text triggered in the audience. The experiences of the following weeks had to be processed by her, her thoughts became words, and these became the lyrics of her first album. In the well-known composer Conny Conrad, Petra fi nds the person who can translate her texts and ideas into melodies. This is how autobiographical titles of various genres in German were created, in which Petra shows all of her feelings from the past year.
A German independent album, apart from the normal mainstream, that does not adhere to the laws of the music industry and does not fit into any drawer is the result “(M) EINS… ..
Petra Lauer packs all of her emotions into the German lyrics of her first studio album "(M) eins".
When listening to this independent production, you immediately notice: Petra is Petra and she cannot be pigeonholed in terms of style. She feels comfortable in many facets of music and builds a bridge between lively titles ("Träume"), melodic prog rock ("Wohin-Woher") and rock ("Momente") to soulful ballads ("Second Me") .
Petra's music has its friends not only in Germany, but also in Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and the USA. They are known and loved.
Since October 13th, 2021 Petra Online's latest song is "Du musst die Seele bambele lasse (Hüttenversion)" with the original German text approved by the original Swiss composer and lyricist Ruedi Bieri.
