Chance Anderson is from Wylie, Texas where he began his career in music and audio in high school. While working in a small closet with only a notation software and a MIDI keyboard, Chance won the CINE Marvin Hamlisch International Youth Film Scoring Competition in 2017 and accepted his award in New York City the following year. He is inspired by many film composers such as John Williams, Ludwig Göransson, Nicholas Britell, Tom Holkenborg, Michael Giacchino, and his all-time favorite, Hans Zimmer.
Through music, he loves being able to emotionally connect an audience to a story told by film. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and believes in the gift of music and film being given to us by Heavenly Father to help inspire and comfort us through our lives.
He currently attends Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he is studying commercial music, with an emphasis in film scoring and post audio in the School of Music. Alongside the experience of working on student and professional films doing music composition, post production audio, and production audio, his schooling has also given him the opportunity to work in multiple recording studios around Provo. He's skilled on an SSL Duality Fuse studio console using both Dante and analog connections and is proficient in many different types of audio software, using Pro Tools, Cubase, and Dorico for his own productions. He has worked with students and professionals on a range of projects such as studio albums, short films, production audio, orchestral recordings, song mixing, audio editing, and much more.
