The Ringo Jets is a melodic yet loud rock band from Istanbul, Turkey, formed in 2012 by versatile guitarists Tarkan Mertoğlu, Deniz Ağan, and the hard-hitting drummer Lale Kardeş with no bass in the line-up. Self-titled debut album showcasing the band's garage-rock ethos with blues roots, produced by two-time Grammy holder Tommaso Colliva (Muse, Franz Ferdinand) was released in 2014 in the aftermath of Istanbul's Gezi protests to huge public praise, quickly catapulting the band into European concert circles. 2015 and 2016 brought 3 EP releases paying homages to the increasingly popular Turkish psychedelic music of the 1970s. Continued touring throughout the next two years was followed by second LP Open Sesame in 2018, also the final release on the band’s former label. Fiery performances at 2019’s Sziget Festival as Europe Stage co-headliners and Oslo's Øyafestivalen were preceded by many others at such festivals as Primavera Sound, Les Rencontres Transmusicales, Gutter Island, Rock ‘n’ Coke. Touring Europe extensively, the group supported the likes of Pixies, Portishead, and Gogol Bordello along the way. In early 2019, The Ringo Jets changed management and signed a new recording contract w/ Ferment Records, heading straight into the studio w/ Colliva again to record the 4-song Yadigâr EP, released in December 2019 to great critical acclaim and followed by its 'Keepsake Edition' w/ Remixes, Live, Instrumental & Demo versions. Brand new single Fool's Crown came out May 14th.
