Samthing Soweto

Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba, known professionally as Samthing Soweto, and born on January 21, 1988, in Soweto, South Africa, is a singer-songwriter. He gained initial recognition through his work with the group the Soil and later as a solo artist. His breakthrough came with the release of his first album This N That Without Tempo in 2010, which blended soul and a cappella styles. In 2019, he released his second studio album Isphithiphithi, which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa and won the Best Afropop Album award at the 26th South African Music Awards. Notable collaborations include "Akanamali" (2017) with Sun-El Musician, which received multiple awards, and his single "Akulaleki" (2019), featuring Sha Sha, which reached Number 1 on a streaming platform's local charts and was certified gold.
