Koldush - reaching Escape Velocity
Koldush is unique: the band sets the bar to a height where few bands from East Europe do.
The Budapest artpop duo has just debuted with a 6-song minialbum, but their calendar already lists a Wembley Stadium performance at just 2 years from now, with even sexier goals scheduled afterwards. Their music makes no compromises either: it takes the listener to an eerily beautiful space journey.
The project has interesting roots, too. Pianist -songwriter Tius' previous band (Tius Norma) gained underground cult status in just four years of its existence. Their debut album was published by EMI Music/Hunnia, with a spectacular live dvd following soon afterwards, filmed at he French Institute in Budapest. Casey is an exciting figure in the Hungarian contemporary dance theater scene, producing and performing heartfelt electronic music for Budapest dance company ZéróBalett.
The Space Rose mini album creates magic using simple means: an acoustic piano, emotional analogue and digital electronics, vocals by Tius, and, on 3 tracks, guest vocals by Betti and Alexandra.
The album is hard to compare to anything before: a genuine trend-setter.
