Dounia

Dounia Tazi, known mononymously as Dounia, was born on March 31, 1997, in either Queens, New York, or Morocco. She is a Moroccan-American singer and songwriter who initially gained prominence as a model. Dounia began her music career in 2017 with the release of her first commercial single "East Coast Hiding" followed by her debut EP Intro To on October 20, 2017. Her second EP, The Avant-Garden, was released on November 30, 2018, through Empire Distribution. Dounia's debut album, The Scandal, was released on July 17, 2019. She has collaborated with various artists including World’s Fair, Supa Bwe, SHAED, and Marian Hill. Her music spans genres such as contemporary R&B and soul, and she has performed at notable festivals like the BUKU Music + Art Project and Soundset Music Festival.
