Static Dress are an English post-hardcore band from Leeds, West Yorkshire, formed in 2018. The group currently consists of Olli Appleyard on vocals, Vincent Weight on guitar and backing vocals, George Holding on bass and backing vocals, and Sam Ogden on drums and backing vocals; the founding lineup also included guitarist Tom Black, drummer Sam Kay and bassist Connor Reilly. After emerging from members’ earlier work in the band Galleries, Static Dress introduced their visual-heavy approach with the 2019 single "clean." and followed with early tracks including "DSC_301", "adaptive taste" and "safeword". In 2021, they released the comic book and soundtrack project Prologue..., then moved into their first album cycle with "sweet." and "Di-sinTer". Their debut full-length, Rouge Carpet Disaster, arrived independently in 2022, tying post-hardcore, emo, screamo and metalcore into a wider narrative world built through videos, artwork and live presentation. After touring with acts such as Loathe and Bring Me the Horizon, Static Dress signed to Roadrunner Records in 2023 and released Rouge Carpet Disaster (Redux), which added reworked material and collaborations with World of Pleasure and Sophie Meiers. In 2024, the band expanded the album’s story with Rouge Carpet Disaster: the Video Game and returned with "crying". The 2025 single "face" formally revealed Weight, previously known under the masked role Contrast, as the band’s guitarist. In 2026, Static Dress signed with Sumerian Records, released "human props" and "Nostalgia Kills" with Underoath, and issued their second album, Injury Episode, a 15-track record that continued the world of Rouge Carpet Disaster while pushing the band toward a more direct and human form of heavy, emotional rock.
