Mc Kako

MC Kako, born Jackson Frayle Toledo Campos in Maringá, Paraná, is a Brazilian rapper and funk artist celebrated for his conscious style that reflects life in São Paulo's favelas. Originally inspired by hip hop, MC Kako began his career in rap before gravitating toward funk, especially the conscious funk subgenre known for its socially aware lyrics. After recording his first studio track in 2018, he gained traction in the funk scene and became known for collaborations with renowned artists like MC Neguinho do Kaxeta and MC Davi. Passagem, his debut album, came out in 2022 and featured production by DJ JR No Beat. In October 2023, he released 734, an acoustic album inspired by MTV’s Acústico series, which earned acclaim as one of the year’s standout projects, particularly for singles like “Tempo” and “Ísis,” a heartfelt tribute to his daughter. This was followed by 2024's Coisas Que Eu Já Devia Ter Dito Há um Tempo, which featured contributions from other funk luminaries such as MC Joãozinho VT and MC Tuto on the track "3 Palito."
