Laz & Leho, from a modest family, grow up sheltered from the flares of a small industrial town in the Camargue, where the sea is the only terminus. It offers a bath in the reflections of its surrounding factories, and life here is sometimes heavier than the sky for those who step off the beaten track. The duo have only one idea in mind: to get out, see the world and share their vision. Composition, which the two boys had discovered on their own, became their obsession, their vehicle. They moved to Paris to give their ambitions a better chance. ICÔNE was born. For almost a year, they honed their guitar/vocals on the Paris metro, then surrounded themselves with Lionnel Buzac (IZIA, Elephanz, Charlie Winston,...) to produce their first 5-track EP, "À NOS LIBERTÉS" (released mid-2024), which set the tone: pop, vintage and colorful. The arrangements are tinged with electro. Their music blends melancholy and rock energy. Through images, they advocate difference and exude the fury of living, as evidenced by the unifying refrain of their single "Ombres et Lumière": "N'ayons peur de rien, entrons dans la lumière" ("Let's not be afraid of anything, let's enter the light").
