Dive into the world of idiosyncratic Electronic Music
Martial aka MAVAREL is a musician and producer from Berne, Switzerland. MAVAREL stands for uncompromising music and doesn´t stick with conventional song structures. Despite his musical individualism, he likes to get inspired by artists such as Lorn, ARCA, Lapalux and Bonobo. His music can best be assigned to the genres IDM, Electronica and Leftfield.
It has an evocative, narrative character and mostly oriented towards a theme. Until today MAVAREL has released three EPs as a solo artist. All of them could be seen as part of a sequel story. MAVAREL likes to send the listeners on a journey into their imagination, where they can discover unknown inner and outer places and spaces. After he led us into nocturnal dream worlds and then into the depths of space in his first two EPs ("Precognitive Dreams" and "Between Earth and Infinity"), the current EP is about mysterious places again.
„Sonority of Disintegration“ is another episode from the strongly evocative series of sound by MAVAREL and asks: how does disintegration sound? Fascinated by „lost places“, derelict buildings left to crumble and getting reclaimed by nature, MAVAREL made several trips to such places while producing this EP. And so the soundtrack of disintegration was created: moments of nostalgia followed by dark and driving beats. For some songs MAVAREL worked together with the singers Lia Nxieta, Maryam Hammad und Milena Patagônia. Their voices lend a warm touch to the songs.
MAVAREL uses analogue synthesizers to create the basslines and pads, topped with a rough, straight and earthy beat. He loves his music to sound raw and dramatically, yet at the same time spherical and melancholic. The song „In a Rush“ made such a good impression on the redactional team of SRF Virus that they made it the "song of the week" in november 2021.
