Just released "Freakin Out 2020". Finishing up a bunch for 2021
Updated January 2021.
Jett Craze is an independent musician who creates what most people call indie rock/pop music, but is genre defying at times. He has also done music of other styles for film and video projects. He makes songs at his studio in a former apple storage barn in Amherst, Massachusetts. Jett is finishing up a bunch of songs for 2021 and producing his first music video for his song “Freakin Out 2020” which will be released in 2021 (the song is already out).
Born in the UK and raised in the US, Jett was exposed to a lot of music growing up in the 80’s around his parents and big sister Galaxy. With his mother, Sophia Craze, the music mostly centered around Kirtan and other Eastern-type celebratory religious practices brought over from India by people like Krishna Das. With his father, Gary Craze, who owned Sweeney’s Salon in London, where musicians like Jimi Hendrix got their hair cut, the music was the hottest Rock, Psychedelic, R&B, and Jazz that was out at the time. Jett started off playing African drums in elementary school and then learned guitar and started writing songs. After college he went on to put some bands together and perform in Manhattan. There he met Chris Perry who produced his first two albums and songwriting partner Moana McReynolds. They wrote the song "Shake it Off" and a few other songs (yet to be released). Jett is currently finishing a set of recordings done with a live band in his Amherst Studio that he plans to release in 2021.
Jett also loves dogs, gardening, cooking and is passionate about plant based food:
“People’s food choices have a huge impact on every aspect of our existence, from happiness to the environment. A significant number of people are able to choose what they eat and therefore have the power to bring real change to the world as a group. It’s really that simple, if we all eat a low-impact diet, which generally means plant based and local, the world will have changed!” -Jett Craze
