Singa, 24 years old, is an artist from Lille, France. With a father who was a jazz pianist and a mother who loved Rumba, he was immersed in the Afro-American culture of the 60's (Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk...) and world music (Youssou N'Dour and Salif Keita among others) during most of his childhood.
As a teenager, he practised drums and percussion and then discovered rap music. His passion for the discipline pushed him to compose. In June 2016, he set up a home studio in the garage of his parents' house to record his first demos.
In September 2019, after having unveiled several tracks on SoundCloud, he decided to launch the independent label Interlude Maison Musicale alongside his faithful friend and associate Saach (Dj/Producer from Lille, France). His first 12-track studio project entitled Penrose was born on 6 November 2019. Mixing catchy refrains and Ego Trip passages, it reveals the introspective landscape of Singa, exposing his loves and sorrows.
