For Miles is an electronic musician and composer from Australia who incorporates elements of classical composition with electronic production to produce experimental dance tracks and electronica. His collection of synthesisers and analog equipment help to shape and mould his sound.
Joseph Miles Moorhouse was born in December 1994, in Tatura, Victoria; a small country town and farming community. After secondary college he eventually made his way to Melbourne to pursue his passion for production and audio engineering. While studying Music at RMIT in 2015, he developed a keen interest in music technology and ways of fusing the old and new. With roots as a trained Pianist, these paths eventually collided at the culmination of studies and he decided to develop this sound further.
Inspired by Neo-Classical Scandi Composers and Avant-Garde Electronica; For Miles hopes to produce works that will bring something new to the many facades of the Melbourne music scene. In 2017, the production of a debut EP in his inner city home began. Consisting of long evolving sound fields, complex rhythms and dramatic melodies; he hopes the work will be complete in Mid 2019.
This won't stop For Miles from performing the tracks as they continue to grow and develop - with a launch concert just around the corner. When he's not in the studio you'll catch him with a Bánh Mì in Sunshine, a V60 in Collingwood or an IPA in Footscray.
