A researcher in more ways than one, Magali Michaut lets her voice show her the way, mixing influences from classical music, chanson française and folk ballads.
Originally from Cergy-Pontoise, near Paris, she has traveled around the world, singing her texts in different countries (Germany, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, United States, France, Great Britain, Greenland, Italy , Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden). Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and multilingual, Magali already has an audience in 12 countries!
On her first EP "Bonjour", she mixes French and English and accompanies herself on guitar and piano, adding a few melodic lines on the violin. In 2017, she was a finalist in the Song Contest organized by the Alliance Française in The Hague. In 2021, she was selected for the semi-final of the singer-songwriter contest A nos chansons (Initiatives-chansons, Gilles Tcherniak) and for the semi-final of the Prix Georges Moustaki in 2022. She will play in March the finale of the Le Mans Pop Festival at the Palais des Congrès with 3 musicians.
Multifaceted French-speaking artist, Magali created the association of French Songs in Denmark. She collaborates with the Franco-Swedish project Le Lac Long 814, with which she released in July 2021 the EP Toujours Apollinaire featuring 5 poems by Guillaume Apollinaire set to music by the composer Daniel Östersjö.
Written in small touches, in French, from emotion to emotion, Impressionniste, Magali Michaut's first album, was recorded in Copenhagen with talented musicians: guitar, bass, cello, harp, clarinet, duduk, percussion. In this album, she depicts everyday scenes: journeys, whether dreamed, interior or real, but also the loss and the cycle of the seasons which continues, tirelessly. Leaving home, coming back, feeling in harmony with your environment or not. Observing the beauty of a wave, being annoyed by noise, getting carried away... Released in May 2022, the album is distributed by InOuïe Distribution.
