Tracks

Episode 97. In 1984, Tina Turner famously sang “What’s Love got to do with it?” Tina won two Grammy’s for the song and it is, in fact, a great question all of us can ask! What does love got to do with anything? In this Fresh Tracks episode, Kelly Robbins leads us in an exploration of love itself. Love is hard to describe. It’s not something we can see or touch, yet we feel it and recognize it when we experience it. Love is a powerful energy and in fact, Love is the very core of the Universe itself. As we struggle with different events in our lives, we can each take the time to answer the question, “What’s Love got to do with it?”  We explore some of the ways to both receive and give love, as well as simply how to recognize love itself. Each of us gives and receives love in different ways. Strengthening your skills as an expectant receiver and active giver of love are important attributes for each of us on the path to harnessing the immense spiritual power of love. And living and creating a life we love. There is radical tension and discord across the world today. At times it feels unbearable. The magnitude of the turmoil makes me believe there is something bigger going on. What if we are we living through one of Earth’s great transformations? A time that will change the course of humanity forever. In this episode of Fresh Tracks we consider what’s been termed the “Axial Age”. A global shift in the consciousness of humanity. Such a powerful shift in humanity is bringing unprecedented turmoil and unrest on a global scale. Why? Because with all change there is discord. I share an overview of the world’s great religious leaders and their role in a previous transformation in human consciousness, and then we dive into some of the identifiable characteristics of today’s shift. Ultimately, we each need to know we play a role in today’s transition to a global consciousness. From the Universe in its’ totality, to how we interact with other species on our planet, to how we view and treat each other, we are intertwined and interrelated no matter where we reside.   Show Notes: 3:45 – About the First Axial Age 6:30 – A overview of the world’s great religious founders 11:00 – The consciousness transformation happening today 14:00 – Characteristics of this great transformation in religion, the environment, ecologically and ways of Being 19:25 – What this consciousness change means on a global level 23:00 – Using this period in time to evaluate ourselves and our role in this transition 26:00 – Different alternatives to deepening to your personal transformation About Kelly Robbins Author of Trust Your Next Step: Creating the Confidence to Cut Fresh Tracks and the podcast www.FreshTrackswithKellyRobbins.com, Kelly created her first business over 20 years ago, truly embracing the entrepreneurial spirit. I found myself yelling at “them” on the television a few weeks ago. Angry. Disturbed at "their" lack of empathy for others. I experienced a complete disgust of those “other people” as a whole. In this week’s episode of Fresh Tracks, we look at what’s going on behind this anger and the “us versus them” mentality we see across the world today. This leads us to a discussion on brain scans, sacred values, religious fundamentalism and its meaning to us. Is our brain hard-wired to default to this anger and separatism? I share results of brain research that has been done specifically on religious fundamentalism, sacred values and our willingness to fight and die for what we believe in. Why does this “us versus them” scenario develop in the first place? And what can you, as an individual do to change it? Check out this episode of Fresh Tracks and discover how to physically change your brain to experience empathy, compassion and reason. Show Notes: 5:00 – Sacred Values and the role they play in decision making 8:30 – Us versus Them on a brain scan 11:00 – Are we all One? In this week’s episode of Fresh Tracks I speak with Jason Lauritsen about Social Gravity and the Natural Laws of Relationships. We start by discussing the role intentionality plays in relationships and how that is different than manipulation. There is great power in setting an intention when building new relationships and Jason shares with us how to set intentions and give us examples of good intentions vs bad intentions. Jason shares his number one way to build strong relationships as well as the number one mistake people make when meeting others that sabotages their ability to connect in an authentic way. The truth is that relationships develop one person at a time and taking the time to choose your relationships one by one, rather than accelerating it in a mass setting, is a key to achieving your goals in business and in life. Finally Jason discusses the concept of social capital, which is the value that we have access to in our lives because of the relationships we have with others. In episode 76 of Fresh Tracks I speak with transformational psychologist and author Deb Silber about betrayal. When we are betrayed it hits us at a very deep, core part of ourselves and shatters our trust. When experiencing a betrayal, either in your personal or professional life, it’s imperative to process and heal rather than push down the emotions and forge on. Debi shares with us the five stages of healing from betrayal as well as the value of discovering the lessons that are there to be learned when you are betrayed. Both are instrumental in growing through this experience rather than having it ruin you. A betrayal hurts so much because it is intentional. We are forced to face the fact that someone close to us put their needs above ours. Initially, survival instincts and strategies take over and we function on autopilot. In this week’s Fresh Tracks we examine why many people get stuck in survival mode rather than heal and move into the growth phases we are designed to experience. Making meaning of the experience allows you to heal, learn the lesson you are charged with learning, and become the stronger and more resilient person you are meant to be. Show Notes: 4:15 – Recognizing post-traumatic betrayal 6:45 – Taking yourself from betrayal to transformation 10:00 – Why do betrayals keeps happening? 12:45 – How betrayal often drive us towards spiritual exploration 14:45 – Why we frequently don’t heal from betrayal 18:15 – The place most women get stuck when healing from betrayal 23:15 – How to recognize if you have post-betrayal symptoms 26:45 – Are there things you can do to prevent betrayal? About Debi Dr. Debi Silber, founder of The PBT Institute, is a Transformational Psychologist and a health, mindset, and personal development expert. She's an award-winning speaker, coach and author of the Amazon #1 Bestselling book: The Unshakable Woman: 4 Steps to Rebuilding Your Body, Mind and Life After a Life Crisis, The Unshakable Woman. Debi has contributed to FOX, CBS, The Dr. Oz show, TEDx, The Huffington Post, Shape, Self, Health, Working Mother, Forbes, Psychology Today, WebMD, Ladies Home Journal, Woman's World and Glamour, amongst others. Her doctoral study led to two discoveries around how women experience and heal from betrayal. Based on her findings, along with 27 years of health, mindset and lifestyle coaching, she's created a proven approach to help women heal (physically, mentally and emotionally) from a life crisis, specializing in betrayal. https://pbtinstitute.com/

One of the most powerful truths in the way Universal Law works is you have to let of things of a lessor vibration to make room for things of a higher vibration. The releasing needs to happen before, not after, what you desire arrives. This is known as the Law of Sacrifice. For example, you quit drinking beer and eating unlimited pan pizza every night before you attain the beach body you desire. In this Fresh Tracks meditation you will easily shed the baggage that’s holding you back and release what no longer serves your highest and best good – making room for the new. In episode 72 of Fresh Tracks I speak with mindfulness expert John Allcock. We dig deep into the role mindfulness plays in setting and achieving goals, our belief in ourselves, and how we handle failure. John shares that being mindful (aware) allows us to recognize if our thoughts are unrealistically negative – which impacts our belief in our self. Once we are aware we can then make the decision to check the thoughts out and see if they are correct and, if not, replace them with more accurate, positive beliefs and intentions. Which ultimately allow us to live a happier, fuller, and more meaningful life. Sounds great, but how do you do this you may ask? John shares techniques to train your attention so you don’t get wrapped up in distorted thinking that’s not realistic. Awareness gives us the power to realize we are choosing to listen to negative thoughts and the choice to choose positive thoughts. In this week’s show we also take a look at how we handle failure. Because if you look at failure as something to avoid you won’t set lofty goals or cut Fresh Tracks. In reality failure just means that you are trying new things. John shares that mindfulness training is the solution to all of these difficult issues. Check out this week’s show and decide for yourself. Show Notes: 4:00 – Why believing in yourself impacts the quality of the goals you set 5:50 – Tips for working your way through failure when you are in the midst of it 8:20 – The secret key to training your attention 12:00 – The art of being skilled in awareness 15:10 – An insight into how kids handle paying attention to their awareness 19:00 – You can try to pave every path or you can make some shoes…. 22:00 – The one thing you can do to avoid anxiety 23:50 – What if much of what you believe is wrong? 26:20 – How to start assessing what your beliefs are – particularly if you are unhappy About the Author: John Allcock has dedicated over 15 years to the practice and instruction of mindfulness. He is the Co-Founder and Director of Mindfulness at Sea Change Preparatory, a trailblazing academy that regularly implements the practice of mindfulness in it’s curriculum.
