The Program was the gritty 90's football movie that was breaking many rules of college sport movies. Showing drug use, corruption and high stakes college administrative business! The was also shined a light on subjects the world wasn't fully ready/educated about when it came out. Don't worry, Cj and Dee are to talk about it!

Do The Right Thing is one of the most important films ever made. It is the story of a hot day in Brooklyn that dives into race relations, community love, and just regular people having a regular day. The movie was great then and is still great now.

Many folks had trepidations about this film given the background, thankfully Brave New World is a solid watch. From solidifying Sam Wilson as Captain America with confidence to the Winter Soldier'esque Political thriller vibes, it's a very entertaining watch. It addresses story beats from MCU movies of the past in a way that doesn't deviate from the story it's telling. Definitely see this film. You won't regret it. #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld #CaptainAmerica #MCU #Marvel #Disney

Black History Month deserves HIGH Black Cinema. This week it's A Soldier's Story. It's a movie every black military has seen at least once. A film that tackles Racism, Black Self-Hate, Colorism, the treatment of black soldiers in the Jim Crow South, and what it's like to see yourself in a position of power for the first time. This a Black All-Star movie and it isn't talked about enough.

2/12/25 • 101:57

Our first of many reviews of the man, the myth, the legend Jim Varney! Dee and Cj have a fun conversation about this loveable redneck. We talk about the movies, Jim's acting, the shenanigans of the film, how black kids viewed him, and of course, likable white folk.

The mind is a terrible thing to waste or to be toyed with. This movie has split up fans for years and has a bigger following. Martin Scorsese directs another amazing movie that's actually out of his wheelhouse. Psychological Thriller that is heavily metaphoric and symbolic. It tells you the answer and you'll still question what is real.  Originally recorded (10/24/2024)

PARTY TIME! EXCELLENT! It is the most successful SNL spinoff of all time. It's been a long time coming with this movie and us. We talk about Mike Myers, Tia Carrere, Dana Carvey having a Scottie Pippen deal, Rob Lowe being Rob Lowe, Rock music, and madness.

1/20/25 • 156:57

We begin 2025 with Metal Gear! The 4th game will go down as the one people didn't like but is probably the most protected by the fans. It was a game Kojima didn't want to make but made it because he loved us so much. A game that looks gorgeous and the gameplay is like a dream but overshadowed by nearly 9 hours of cutscenes. A game that answered all of the questions, and I mean ALL of them! A game that should be burned but also needs to be in the Smithsonian. In this gigantic episode of 3BG, we talk about it all.  (New Ending song by Kxxdo- Spotless)

It's our first Whoopi Goldberg movie and we picked a classic. The movie that helped Whoopi "EGOT", and also made her a legend. It's a story about a 3rd rate lounge singer who's ducking the mob and was placed in a convent. We talk about the legacy, the music, the actors, and Bill "F'N" NUNN! RIP Maggie Smith (Originally recorded August 29, 2024)

12/28/24 • 143:19

Our final episode of the year and we talk a lot about the last few games of the season. We also talk about the College Bowl Games/BSC, the NBA, the baseball GOD Ricky Henderson, and wrapping up 2024.

12/26/24 • 118:52

#Dracula #Nosferatu #Horror  A remake of the 1922 film, Nosferatu is a movie that nails horror noir vibes of the original film top the bottom. Bill Skarsgård is unrecognizable as the Count and he really builds on the characters motivations as he's psychically stalks Lily Rose-Depp's character of Ellen. Great cinematography, great performance, brooding music that matches the films vibes. Definitely go see this film.

The last 3BGPodcast of the year and it's our Christmas Movie! This year we talk about the Dark Knight again! Tim Burton's second go at Batman was met with praise and controversy. The Geeks talk about it all, the toys, the acting, and even Burton's career. It's a perfect way to cap off an excellent year for 3BG!

#UltramanBlazar #Ultraman #Tokusatsu #TsuPro  Ending 2024 with a bang as CJ and Prime talk all about Ultraman Blazar. A show that was a big rollout of Ultraman being simulcast here in the U.S. and Japan. It was a big deal alongside the show being dubbed as well. Fun series overall and a wild summer experience with the movie followup.

#Sonic3 #SonicTheHedgehog3 #Paramount #SEGA #Sonic Paramount is battin 3 for 3 on these Sonic films and haven't let up. Director Jeff Fowler really has a good grasp on the world of Sonic the Hedgehog and does a phenominal job of making you care on the plight of the characters. In this instance, he nails everything about Shadow top to bottom. And even past that character, just expanding on the worldbuilding of the first 2 movies is great to watch. Go see this film immediately.

#PMC2024 #PowerMorphicon #PowerRangers #SuperSentai The game has changed in terms of nerd apparel. Much like with AlCombo, Sentai Jackets is another company that is changing the way fans can wear apparel from the toku world. As the name implies they're a company that puts out jackets representative of toku shows and they recently made a huge impact with the recent Rescue Series jackets inspired from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.  Be sure to check out our main site with some photos of the booth. www.3blackgeeks.com

#SpiderMan #KravenTheHunter #Kraven #Sony #SpiderVerse  This movie is standard action fare in line with the sort of Direct to Home Video throwback from the 80's/90's. The added bonus is this movie using Kraven as the basis of said action film. While the character in the comics does have lore that you could build a movie on, this film scratches the surface in ways that could've been better. You ultimately get a film that ends up being very middle of the road despite it being the best of the SpiderMan spinoff set of movies. Thank God Sony is ending this.

Heist Cinema Winter continues with us redoing our second episode. 13 years ago we tackled the Jet Li movie "High Risk". We return to is as seasoned film critics and guys looking back out our youth in the late 90s.

12/11/24 • 153:02

Its the end of the year and with that comes the end of the recent Heritage Auction for the Power Rangers franchise items. CJ and Prime talk at length about it and talk about the latest toku news and happenings.

12/11/24 • 88:44

Heist Cinema Winter goes on with the negro classic Set It Off. And yes this is definitely a classic. A story about sisterhood and trying to get PAID!

12/5/24 • 207:39

#Gladiator2 #RidleyScott #DenzelWashington    As far as legacy sequels go, Gladiator 2 isn't too bad. While it doesn't hit the same highs as say Top Gun Maverick, Ridley Scott does in a way play it safe. Not a bad thing per se but same time the film hits the same story beats of the first movie. Denzel ends up stealing this movie top to bottom and he's worth it alone to go see this movie.

11/28/24 • 27:44

#DCcomics #Batman #Penguin #HBO #WarnerBros Matt Reeves put out a solid film in The Batman and this Penguin series carries on the drama in Reeves Batman universe. CJ and Anthony talk about the journey of Osward Cobblepott as he seeks to gain a foothold in Gotham and make his presence known.

11/28/24 • 89:16

Heist Cinema Winter continues with a Guy Ritchie flick. His first movie to be exact. A movie dripping in late 90s London dialog and shenanigans.

11/22/24 • 128:07

It's November and it's time for 3BG to review movies that are...CINEMA...this year it's Heist movies. Cops and Robbers. Jewel thieves. People who need a lot of cash and fast. We all love them. We start off strong with the Michael Mann classic, Heat. This is jammed packed with talent in front of and behind the camera. It changed the game when it comes to shoot-outs in movies. So many working parts that ends perfectly. In the middle of recording we got news of Tony Todd passing away. R.I.P.

11/14/24 • 142:22

Happy Halloween 2024!!! This year we choose the Jordan Peele classic Get Out. A movie that black people felt on multiple levels, and a movie white people "understood". We talk Jordan Peele, white women, negro fears, early 2000s fashion,  pornstars and the sunken place.

10/31/24 • 192:02

The Last Dance is here and...yeah...it was definitely a movie. Cj and DjTsu go into this last installment and why Sony needs to be stopped.

10/31/24 • 28:03

Last time we were at Crystal Lake, Pamela Voorhees got her head chopped off after killing a bunch of teenagers. This time her son Jason will continue her tradition of killing. And as tradition we invited our best friend Moe from No Budget Nightmares to talk about Jason.

10/23/24 • 138:05

Time for 3BG to enter the world of Biohazard again. This time we talk about the CGI movies that are far superior to it's Live Action counterpart. This movie has a Prime broken Leon Kennedy, a East Slav war zone, the biggest tyrants ever, the USA and Russia teaming up, and Capcom randomness.
