Intro to Rekindling Her Light:What if you didn't lose yourself? What if the version of you you've been missing, the one who felt calm, clear, alive, is still there just beneath the noise, the pressure, the expectations. Somewhere along the way, you may have learned to shrink, to quiet your voice, to overthink, to become who others needed you to be.And slowly you stop feeling like yourself. But here's the truth. You didn't lose your light. You learned to cover it. This is rekindling her light, a space for the woman who is ready to come back to herself to stop overthinking, to trust herself again, and to finally live as she truly is.Through honest conversations, gentle truth, and deep inner work, we'll walk this path together because your light was never meant to live dim. If something in you feels that you're already on your way, follow along and let's begin.Episodes prior to April 2026 are still valuable but are from other brandings of the podcast. Rekindling her light to begin April 2026.Thank you to Jake Olsen for allowing use of his song, More Precious Than Rubies as the podcast theme song. Let’s face it, loss of any kind sucks! It can upend all that we knew about life and leave us reeling. Some people never recover and go down a deep dark road that they never return from. It doesn’t have to be like that though! Such transitions in life can be an amazing catalyst for reflection, growth, and deeper appreciation of the human experience. I look forward to delving into this deeper in this episode!Link to some free journal prompts: https://forms.gle/Ez55BudNNVrd8L639Kristy's Contact Information:Email: kristy@sacredsunsets.comIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.sacredsunsets.com

Hello beautiful souls! Welcome back to this week’s episode of Sacred Sunsets. It’s amazing how much can be covered on grief and still not repeat yourself. This week, I was scrolling Facebook and someone asked for podcasts on anxiety and grief. I felt this was probably not a coincidence that I came across that because that’s exactly what I’ve been struggling the most during my current grief experience and what would be better than to cover this while it’s fresh in my life and hopefully in turn help others who are experiencing the same. I look forward to this conversation! I again apologize for missing an episode last week. Life has had one challenge after another lately and I just couldn’t pull it off. As I mentioned in my last episode, my marriage has erupted as of late, sending me through my own grief healing journey. One thing that has become readily apparent to me is those who step up to the plate when life gets tough. It got me thinking about the quality of people we surround ourselves with at all times but especially during the tough times such as in the loss of a loved one, to divorce, or whatever other trial you may go through. Believe it or not, who we surround ourselves by can make or break the amount of suffering through the process. That’s what we’re going to get into this episode. Welcome back to today’s episode. I missed posting an episode last week and I’m deeply sorry for that. My world got a little shaken up and I just couldn’t but I’m back. We’ve been undergoing a series. Today’s episode is on how adopting a growth mindset can help you on your healing Journey through grief. Typically this podcast is about grief from the loss of a loved one to death but I’m going through my own grief journey right now of losing the love of my life to himself and his choice to walk away. Due to that and the real feelings I’m experiencing right now, I hope to be able to speak to you all in a more personal way without making it about me and wallowing in the grief—more of the understanding I’m currently having. Let’s get to it. For the past few weeks we’ve been in a series, following the episode I released in May called “Beyond the Shell: Rebuilding Identity in grief.” If you haven’t listened to it, I encourage you to go back and do so. We seek to understand how we can rebuild our lives and identities when everything we know feels lost. That episode covered several tools that can help with that process. Since then, we’ve been breaking that apart and going into more detail of each tool. Today, we cover mindfulness and how that can help us rebuild our identity and heal from our loss.Link to the journal prompts I referred to in this episode:https://forms.gle/Ez55BudNNVrd8L639Kristy's Contact Information:Email: kristy@sacredsunsets.comIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.sacredsunsets.com

Welcome back to this week’s episode of Sacred Sunsets. About three weeks ago, I posted an episode on tools that can be used to rebuild identity in grief. The following week, I expounded further on one of those tools. This week and the weeks to come, I want to continue expounding on those tools one by one. This week, we will build further on how holding on tight to your faith and values can help you rebuild your identity in grief. In that episode three weeks ago that I’m referring to, on this portion, what was said was as follows:"Hold on tight to your faith and values. Your faith can play a significant role in the grief healing journey. Through your faith, you can find hope, comfort, and gain the benefits of being a part of a community that shares your faith. Regular and heartfelt participation in scripture, prayer, and meditation, as well as hope in eternal life also provides comfort. Further, engaging in acts of service provides a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and connection. And by reflecting on Christ’s resurrection, we can find hope for new beginnings while enduring the pain. Leaning into the belief that God’s love and grace are ever present can also provide strength and comfort."Link to the journal prompts I referred to in this episode:https://forms.gle/Ez55BudNNVrd8L639Kristy's Contact Information:Email: kristy@sacredsunsets.comIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.sacredsunsets.com

Welcome back to sacred sunsets! Last week, we went into many tools and ways to process grief. I feel like there was so much packed into that episode that over the next few episodes, we’re going to break those things down into separate episodes. The first thing we talked about last week was allowing yourself to feel all the feelings that come up in the loss you’ve had. Specifically, what I said was:it’s super important to acknowledge Your Feelings: Allow yourself to fully experience and acknowledge the range of emotions you're feeling. It's okay and totally normal to feel lost, sad, or even angry. Recognizing these emotions is the first step toward healing. Ignoring or stuffing these feelings inside can cause prolonged suffering in your grief. We have to go through the feelings. We can’t skip over or around them or they will plague us long term. This is what we’re going to expound on today!Kristy's Contact Information:Email: kristy@sacredsunsets.comIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.sacredsunsets.com

Welcome back to Sacred Sunsets. Today, we delve into the profound and often isolating experience of losing a loved one. Sometimes the loss can be so deep that it leaves us feeling unanchored, like a shell of the person we once were.Imagine standing on the shore of a vast ocean, the waves of grief crashing over you, pulling you into an unfamiliar current. The person who once provided you with a sense of stability and belonging is no longer there, and you're left to navigate the turbulent waters of loss alone. In this episode, we will explore the raw emotions and challenges of feeling unmoored, as well as the journey to rediscovering ourselves amidst the wreckage. With Mother's Day approaching, many are struggling with not having their mom here on Earth anymore. It's a bittersweet reminder of the mom that once was, and for some more bitter than sweet, a reminder of the mom they wish they had, but they didn't. I'm super excited for this episode I got to interview my friend, Ms. Magda, who I met at a podcasting summit with Cathy Heller in Hollywood last May.Magda came from Poland for this event. It was her first trip to the United States. I'm sure it was exciting and scary and fun all at the same time.We didn't get a great chance to know each other at the event because of the event schedule and varying interactions with other people. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to catch back up with her for this interview though. I love the expertise that she brings to the table with having been a psychotherapist for many yearsShe lives in what she calls the forest there in Poland, which she has been able to use for her own personal healing space, as well as for group therapy for many people she serves. Welcome back to Sacred Sunsets. I'm getting really excited for this podcast and for my upcoming grief coaching program. The more I get into this topic, the more I learn and understand, the more I look forward to sharing it with people I serve. With the mortality rate in life being a hundred percent, it's guaranteed that each of us will die and we each will have to face death of loved ones in our lives. Right? We will also have times in our lives that other friends and family in our lives lose loved ones. Unfortunately, though, in our grief and death illiterate society, we often don't know how to be there for someone who's grieving and so many people inadvertently say things or give advice that isn't helpful and may even be hurtful. So what should we do or not do when it comes to comforting those who stand in need of comfort? What are the best and worst things to say to those who are grieving? I hope to answer those questions for you in this episode.Kristy's Contact Information:Email: kristy@sacredsunsets.comIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.sacredsunsets.com

We’re going to discuss the final stage of grief which is acceptance. We will also cover anticipatory grief, disenfranchised grief, and complicated grief which can occur as well. If you haven’t already listened to the previous episodes, covering the other stages of grief, I encourage you to do so. Remember that those stages are: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. As covered previously, these stages are not linear and can happen at any point in the grieving process in any order and some people may not experience some of the stages at all. We all grieve in our own way and the best thing we can do when others are suffering the same loss we are is to recognize that any allow grace for each other. Otherwise, relationships can be torn apart, compounding that loss. For future episodes, I am working on lining up interviews with others who have experienced grief or who have helped others through grief. I also want to start opening up conversations about the end of life, as well as when someone has been enlightened with the preciousness of their mortality and have begun to live differently because of that realization. If you or others you know fit this, I would love to have you on the show!Kristy's Contact Information:FB: www.facebook.com/groups/ldstraumahealingIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.embodiedgracecoaching.com

Welcome back to this week’s episode of From Ashes to Grace. Life is busy so I’m STILLLLLL working on optimizing my podcast. As mentioned last week, it and my business will most likely be named Sacred Sunsets. I’m really excited for the direction this is going. I really want to thank those of you who have participated in my market research for this. I’ve had 14 responses so far which is amazing! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! This week’s episode is the 4th of a 5 part series on the stages of Grief. So far we’ve covered the stages of Denial, Anger, and Bargaining. This week, we will be covering Depression, the 4th stage of grieving. Remember that though there are 5 stages, not everyone experiences every stage and no one person experiences each stage the same. Also, these stages are not linear. Your experience of grief can jump around and revisit stages at times. With the willingness to experience and work through your grief, the depth of the grief experienced will lessen in time. Not being willing to face the grief and work through it will lengthen and deepen your experience of grief. Sorry it's late. I had some technical difficulty. I'm so grateful to have you here to listen to this episode. It means the world to me. I'm still in the middle of reworking the podcast, but it's getting there. I'm currently leaning towards renaming both the podcast and the business to Sacred Sunsets. I like this because the sunset can represent nearing the end of life and everything surrounding that. My hope is that through the messages shared, people can be inspired to begin to really live their lives to their best. They can better understand nearing the end of life, both for the person and for their families. And they can be better prepared to go through that stage of life, and be better prepared along the way. Finally, people can be supported and guided through grief and loss of loved ones. Today's episode will be part three of a five part series on the stages of grief. So far, we've covered the stages of denial and anger. If you haven't already listened to these episodes, I encourage you to go back and do so.As a reminder, though there are five stages, they are not linear, and no one can expect to experience grief in the same way. With that, it's good to understand the stages so that you can recognize them as you or others go through the process. Also, people say that grief heals with time. The person missing in your life never changes. That will always be a loss. However, with the right support, Mindset, guidance, and effort, you can look forward to having peace and happiness again. Sure, there will be times that you get sad when that person crosses your mind, but you can also celebrate the memories you have of them and the fact that you are blessed to have them in your life. Anyway, that's a long way of saying that today's episode is on the third stage of grief, which is bargainingKristy's Contact Information:FB: www.facebook.com/groups/ldstraumahealingIG: www.instagram.com/kristy_ross79IN: www.linkedin.com/in/kristy-ross-260404177/Web: www.embodiedgracecoaching.com

Welcome back to From Ashes to Grace. I want to thank you again for your patience as I rework the podcast. I'm in the workings of deciding whether to keep the podcast title, cover art, and need to work on making all things related to it congruent across all social media and with my website. Ultimately, my dream for my podcast and business is To help those who are end of life to have the most fulfilling and peaceful passing they can have. To help those who are grieving to heal and find hope again. And to help those of us who are realizing our mortality to live the best life we can now, so that we can avoid having the common regrets that those at the end of life often have. For the next couple episodes, though, with Valentine's Day being next week, I want to focus on love. In this episode, we'll journey through uncovering love in all its forms amidst grief. Let's get to it.
