SAO is a huge franchise that you most likely have some exposure to already, but SAO Progressive is an expanded retelling of the first arc, Aincrad, and the movie is based on that. It also mainly focuses on Asuna, rather than Kirito, as the main POV, which gives the whole thing a fresh new feel. I’m very excited to see how the Progressive movies continue! I finally got around to watching the Netflix Original (a real one) anime series, Eden. I enjoyed it, but it definitely has its flaws, that mostly stem from the short 4 episode runtime and fairly common scifi theme. Not the soundtrack by Kevin Penkin though. That was beautiful! I’ve enjoyed a lot of music anime or series based on a traditional Japanese art, so it was nice to get to listen to some great shamisen performances this past season, even if I felt bait and switched by the initial setup versus what the story ended up actually being.
