Re-Enchant Your Life

Learn to trust your intuition so that you can make better choices in life and weave more potent magic

Tracks

Our society values logic. We love to gather the information, and the more detail we can uncover, the better. We pore over it, analysing and comparing it to other data. Then we make a choice, confident that it’s right, because we made it logically and rationally. Whereas we view intuition very differently. We gather intuitive information through an inner ‘knowing’ or sensing. It’s something that we can’t often explain with reason and logic. We can rarely prove the information at the time we receive it. Sometimes, it doesn’t even make much sense. So we often view intuition as ‘creative’, or dismiss it as ‘woo woo’. That’s probably why society tends to value logic over intuition. If something can be ‘proved’, people feel safer and more confident basing their decisions on it.

Everyone can access their intuition. Absolutely everyone. No exceptions.   Some people find connecting to their intuition easier than others do, but it’s a skill that can be learnt and practised. And the more you practise, the easier it becomes. You may doubt your intuition because its quiet whispers are drowned out by the doubts, fears and overwhelm of everyday life. It may also be hard to hear the voice of your intuition because you’ve long since forgotten how to truly trust yourself. We’ve spent much of our lives hearing the world we live in try to convince us that other people know what we need better than we do. The quiet voices of our intuition get drowned out by our fast-paced lives and by instant gratification. They get overwhelmed by the constant stream of other people telling us what to do, how to behave and what’s true.

I used to think tarot reading was about prediction The first tarot reader I ever went to see was recommended by a friend. I went along to ask about a new relationship I was in. Would it work out? Were we a good match? Looking back, giving someone I hardly knew the power to say whether my relationship was right for me or not seems like I was avoiding a lot of responsibility. Why was I looking for someone outside of myself to tell me if the relationship was a good one?

5/18/21 • 08:17

How do you view power? Many of my clients want to ‘own their power’, and yet they have a distorted relationship with power itself. When they think about their own power, they know it’s an important part of themselves. They also recognise that they’ve given it away, as they feel disempowered. Others feel that their power has been taken away from them, leaving them vulnerable and powerless. These people want to feel ‘empowered’, but they don’t always know what empowerment would look like. All of their previous experiences with power have been situations where someone or something had dominance over them.

The stigma of disloyalty The other day, I asked a client of mine if she was loyal. She looked at me, horrified. “Of course!” she said to me, half surprised and half indignant that I’d even asked – as if she’d be anything else! “Yes,” I replied, “and that’s the problem.” You see, there’s an unwritten law in society – the Law of Loyalty. You’re expected to be loyal to your family, your culture and even society. But the biggest one is family. “Blood is thicker than water,” we hear. “They’re your brother/sister/mother/father. You HAVE to forgive them/get along with them/etc.” If you don’t – or can’t – get along, there’s a real stigma attached to stepping away from your family. And that’s especially true if you choose to step away from your mother, regardless of her behaviour.

My daily practices kept me sane last year 2020 was, without a doubt, an unprecedented year. And yes, I’ve heard it called many things, but I think I’ll stick with ‘unprecedented’. It was a year that forced many people to assess (or re-assess) their priorities. And whilst 2020 was an extreme example of how to cope with, and navigate, change, it did remind me of the importance of having a daily practice to keep me from getting lost in a sea of overwhelm or despair. No matter what goes on in my life or the world around me, my daily practices give me space. They allow me to take a pause, come back to my own centre and respond from a place of greater inner calm. Do I always manage this kind of calm response? No, of course not! I’m human.

During my 20s and out of nowhere, after never even having a spot as a teenager, my skin erupted into the worst eczema I've ever seen. Seemingly overnight, my face, my arms, and legs were bright red, shiny, weeping and very, very sore. After going to the doctors, and his first words being to me ‘Oh my, you have it bad’, I just burst into tears. I did have it bad, and it really hurt. I was prescribed anti-biotics, steroid creams and had to wash in emollients. My skin remained red, sore and weepy. I remember walking down the street in winter, and people staring at me as my face was so red, I looked burnt. I tried elimination diets, no wheat, no sugar and no difference. I’d take handfuls of vitamins, oils, and aloe vera juice and still no change. After months, I finally took the advice of a friend to visit a Kinesiologist – whatever one of them was… I have to admit, I was completely sceptical.  I'd never even heard of kinesiology before, but nothing else was working. I had nothing to lose, and I was running out of options.

4/13/21 • 11:57

20+ years ago I started work at a thriving Natural Health Centre, practising the energy therapy kinesiology; the art of using muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body’s energy system.  At the time most people had never heard of kinesiology, and I was often met with ‘How do you say that?’, or ‘What’s that. I’ve never heard of it before.’ And despite this being unknown to many people, I still was often booked months in advance, just through word of mouth referrals.

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Today, I want to talk about why you need to start putting yourself first and actually how to do it. We’re going to do this with a frame of intuition. As you start to listen for your intuition, it can feel overwhelming at first. Your senses become more aware and heightened and you start to notice all of the different feelings, and even twinges, in your body. As your awareness grows, it’s good to remind yourself that this is a practice, and with practice everything becomes easier.

3/30/21 • 05:43

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Today, I want to talk about a really important topic and its how your body responds differently to intuition and trauma. When you start to listen for your intuition, you become more aware of the feelings and sensations in your body. Not all of these sensations will be your intuition. So how can you tell the difference?

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Today, I want to talk about the importance of trusting in yourself to make the right choices for yourself. People often feel like they don’t, or can’t, trust themselves. They seek validation from external sources and can ignore the intuitive nudges from within. We live in a world that has its ideas on how we should behave, what success looks like, even how we should look. It’s a world that promotes insecurity; one that plays on the fears of people wanting to fit in, of not wanting to be judged, and all the while wanting to appear successful.

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Today, I want to remind you that YOU are in fact the magic. I absolutely love magical tools. I have a particular love of cauldrons… I’ve made wands, incense fans, and brooms, tools for divination; Oracle and tarot decks, runes, and Ogham staves, and charms. I have crystals and herbs, and oils. I love to use them in my spell work and magic. And yet… You don’t need any of them. They’re great to have and fun to work with. But the tools aren’t magic. YOU are magic.

3/2/21 • 04:57

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Today I want to talk about remembering your magic. You are the magic. There is no-one in the world like you. No-one with your thoughts, your experiences, or your ideas and dreams. There is no-one who sees the world exactly as you do, and that is your magic.

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Today I want to talk about purpose. Growing up in a sleepy fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall, I found myself reading ‘Teach Yourself Yoga’ books, whilst my friends around me were reading the latest teen magazines. I’ve no idea what drew me to yoga, but something woke inside of me, and I found myself on a quest. I didn’t have the language for this quest I embarked on, but it ignited within an insatiable desire for knowledge. I found myself seeking. Asking questions about life, and my purpose in life.

You’d think making a choice would be easy.  Which option feels the most aligned with your intentions for your future.  Simple.  Okay… maybe it’s not that simple.  You make a choice.  ‘Yes, that’s what I’m going to do’.  And then it starts…  But….  Is that the really the right choice for me? Join me for the latest episode of The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen, where we will be looking at how to use your intuition when you feel overwhelmed about what to do.

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. Last week in the SHEro Toolkit, we looked at the symbolism of The Compass and the importance of aligning with your own inner compass. Today, we move on to the card, The Campfire, and giving yourself what you need. Where in your life do you need to give yourself what you need? Perhaps you've been hoping someone else will meet your needs, or perhaps you feel guilty about prioritising yourself? Take a moment to ask your question about fulfilling your own needs.

Join me for the latest episode of The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast where we'll be tapping into your intuition. Let’s face it, it can be hard to know what we really want. I’ve had way too many women burst into tears when I’ve asked them that exact question. “What do you want?” Whether it’s life purpose questions, what they want to do at the weekend, or even what movie they want to watch. They’re so used to prioritising the needs of others; children, partners, parents, co-workers, friends…. they’ve become disconnected from what they really want.

Welcome to The Re-Enchant Your Life Podcast with me, Rebecca Anuwen. I'm back with some inspiration and intuitive guidance for your week ahead. Today, we move on to the card, The Compass and aligning with your own inner compass. Where in your life do you need to align with your own truth? Perhaps you've been doing, what's been expected of you or following a path you thought you should, rather than following your own dreams, desires, and intuitive nudges. Take a moment to ask your question about aligning with your own inner compass. Where do you feel out of alignment?

Years ago, I was listening to a radio interview with Ray Mears, an outdoor survival expert, and someone had asked him how to get the most out of their up-coming trip to the jungle. His response has always stayed with me. Not because I’m off to the jungle, but because they’re words to live by, especially when developing your relationship with your intuition.  He said, and I’m paraphrasing:  “Walk into the jungle and stop. Let the jungle come to you.” Wow!  I just love that for soooo many reasons.

“I knew this would happen. I just had a feeling when I meet him, but he seemed okay so I just ignored it”. These were the words I’d heard too many times before. When Rachel* met Simon* she felt something wasn’t right, but couldn’t put her finger on it. Everyone else seemed to think he was lovely; so charming and funny, that she squashed her own intuition, assuming not everyone else could be wrong. It must be her. Perhaps she was tired or being too quick to judge, he was being very attentive and charming… Yet here they were, a month later, and her best friend in tears at the way Simon had treated her. How many times have you found yourself in similar situations?

On the last episode, we looked at the symbolism of The Crystals and the importance of remembering that you don't have to do it alone. Today. We move on to the card, The Butterfly, and you're reminded to embrace your truth. Where in your life have you been avoiding your truth? Perhaps you've been hiding your true dreams and desires. Maybe you've been playing small and are ready to name and claim what you really want in life. Take a moment to ask your question about embracing your truth.
