In Part 1, we discussed the internal battle we face. We learned it is not fair to compare the person we are becoming to the person we used to be—it's simply not a fair fight.Part 2 shifts our focus to the external battle, when God fights our battles. He shows favor on whom He wants to show favor. There are so many examples found in the Bible from Moses, Joseph, Abraham, David, the 12 Disciples, and many others. When God shows up, it’s not a fair fight, and that is a good thing because God is on your side. You are His! God has shown favor on us by defending us, protecting us, and loving us, even when we didn’t feel His presence.When God’s favor is upon you, there is truly no fair fight. Read 2 Kings 19 and Judges 6 & 7 for encouragement. It's Not a Fair Fight! In Part 1 of 2, I discuss the internal battles you can face when comparing your former self to the person you are becoming now. I pray you are encouraged by this mentorship session I had with someone. I also pray it encourages you to continue moving forward. God has qualified you to do His good will. We all have experienced self-doubts and at times, felt unqualified or unworthy, but Psalm 25:3-5 gives us hope. Let us always remember, God will use whatever mess you bring to Him for His glory. Romans 3:23 remind us, we all fall short, however, Romans 3:24 says "and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus". God uses flawed and broken people to fulfill His purpose. There is redemption in Christ. Don't Forget to LIVE! Please take some time to reset and take care of yourself. You were put here to do more than take care of others, pay bills, work, give, run errands, etc. While all of those things are wonderful, it is important that you take some time for you.When was the last time you went on a bike ride, took a long walk, or did something for yourself that makes you happy? When was the last time you simply… enjoyed life? And while many of us find enjoyment in taking care of others, we must be careful that we don’t experience burnouts because we neglected ourselves. When was the last time you did something just for Y-O-U?And how are you taking care of you? As I visited my son’s gravesite today, on his birthday, something really stood out to me as I reflected on the day he accepted Jesus Christ [Yeshua] as his Lord and Savior. We are called to make disciples of all nations and spread the love of God in our daily lives. That is what really matters! As followers of Jesus Christ [Yeshua], we are called to be God's messengers, reflecting His love and grace to those around us. You don’t owe anyone an apology as you strive to go higher and walk in alignment with the talents God has given you. This applies to personal development and entrepreneurial development. For those seeking entrepreneur development, you do not need to feel guilty for creating multiple streams of income. The Bible relates to every aspect of our lives, including entrepreneurship. Read bible stories with spiritual and business wisdom such as the Proverbs 31 woman. She was wise, she was profitable, and she used the resources available to her to provide for her family, helpers, as well as for those who were in need. I hope this serves as a reminder to not limit yourself nor allow yourself to be stuck in a caged mindset because we have the right to grow. God created us to grow. You don’t have to apologize for going higher. If God has made it clear for you to move forward in this season, then do what He said… unapologetically!Walk in the anointing that God has placed in your life by letting go of a caged mindset, which is discussed in my book "necessary." Now that you have decided to go higher, let's discuss what it looks like to respond to opposition, especially in personal and/or entrepreneurial development. What is one project you haven't completed yet because opposition stood in your way? It is going to take a mindset shift to see you are equipped, predestined, and prepared for the next level that God is guiding you toward. Learn how to use the opposition that shows up in your life as a guide. It’s time to go to higher levels. Have you ever found yourself stuck in a cycle, looking back and wondering why you keep returning to the same patterns? And are you willing to get uncomfortable and make the necessary changes when it's time to go to higher levels? Let’s focus on John 5, when Jesus heals a man at the pool of Bethesda. I pray you are able to apply this to various aspects of your lives—personal, professional/ entrepreneurial, and spiritual. Jesus asked the man an important question: Do you want to get well? How will you answer that question, and what life changing decisions will you make moving forward?I noticed a few things about this story: When Jesus asked the man a question, the man didn’t respond directly to the question. This moment highlights the importance of our mindset in achieving breakthroughs. It also challenges me to ask myself if I am ready to put in the effort to break free from my mindset limitations. Mindset is key because it seems that all the man at the pool could see were his problems, and sometimes, like the man at the pool, we may not even realize we are stuck.I love that Jesus told the man to rise and pick up his mat. I wonder if Jesus said this so that the man wouldn’t return to his old ways.
