Winter wheat futures soared on Tuesday after USDA seemingly indicated the well reported issues with this year's crop in the U.S. Plains. We saw 35-45 cent moves higher across the wheat complex while soybeans, bean oil, bean meal and corn also had a positive day. The Trump administration is preparing to temporarily lower tariffs on imported beef in an effort to ease record-high beef prices for American consumers. We saw a strong day in soybeans, backed by more strength in soybean oil and some frost concerns from the weekend with November soybean futures breaking $12 before finishing off the highs. Meantime, corn was moderately higher with December futures breaking the $5 mark and closing above it. December corn hit $5.01 and three quarters on Friday, before falling back to close below the elusive $5 mark. Overall, it was another decent money flow day to end the week in grains but what is holding this corn market back? Weather worries impacted the Kansas City wheat market on Thursday as the trade surged higher, spilling over into Chicago and Minneapolis wheat too. Cotton also saw some consolidation and support from the dry weather in the south it seemed on the day.
