Tracks

Episode 1: Pilot
The Four That Rule are minus one in the pilot episode or the Seinfeld Chronicles.  Jerry is the central, pronounced protagonist in this soon to be ensemble.  On the road he met a woman from Michigan that he seems to be really into and she is coming to NYC for the weekend and needs a place to stay.  His Manhattan, one bedroom apartment is offered up, which was her idea, not Jerry's.  Now Jerry, with an assist from George, are trying to decode the signals giving off by this enigma, also known as a woman. This episode is way and amorphous as far as a conventional television plot goes for that time period, which Ashford believes gives the pilot its charm.  The rating for this one is 2 and a half Superman emblems out of 5.   Contact us at the @4ThatRule on Twitter Like our Facebook Page: The 4 That Rule

Episode 2: The Stake Out
Episode 2 of the Four Who Rule is back with the episode The Stake Out by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld.  Erin and Ashford talk about the social etiquette of "Staking Out" a woman after meeting her and how it relates to when people stake folks out on social media. And yes!  Julia Louis-Dreyfus joins the show for the 1st time in the 2nd episode as Elaine Benes.  The introduction of Jerry's parents are in this episode as well. Erin and Ashford rated this episode a 2 out of 5 Superman shields.  2 may sound low, but again, our rating system is very strict. Ashford's highlights of the show is the introduction of Art Vandelay and George being an architect is a pseudo job for a cover up. Episode 3: The Robbery
The Robbery is written by Matt Goldman, who places the characters in situations where they are all doing something to move the plot forward, leading Jerry to find a new home.  Yep, there was an attempt to move out of the set we know and love.   Ashford and Erin discuss 90s music, movies, and Seinfeld.
24:35 10/20/17
Episode 4: Male Unbonding
Episode 4 of the Four Who Rule with Erin and Ashford is about the episode The Male Unbonding, which is about Jerry trying to in the most sly, benign way, dump man in a platonic relationship.  Again, a show that is not about a son hiding a failing grade from his parents, or a dad that is trying to do right by his kids.  No, this is about trying to skate around hanging out with an inherited childhood friend.  You can't pick your family, and you can't avoid the friends you met by default in your neighborhood. Episode 5: The Stock Tip
The Four Who Rule talk about the horrors of cats, dating, and the validity of Superman having super human strength.  Well, actually the super humor topic is discussed on the show.  The show is starting to hone its voice.   E-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com Tweet us @4ThatRule

Episode 6: The Ex-Girlfriend
Erin and Ashford are back with episode 6, the Ex-Girlfriend.  Released in January 1991, this story is the opening for the new season, which is season 2.  Grunge, the Clinton years, and Seinfeld.  What a decade!  Let us see how Jerry and George deal with the ethereal seduction of Marlene, a southern bell who really has a hold on those two. The mind says no, but the body says yes.  Yes to good cantaloupe, that is.  Kramer has found a great spot that sells fruit that is worth the extra steps, and Elaine is having issues with a neighbor in her building. 36:05 12/11/17
Episode 8: The Jacket
Ashford and Erin are back to discuss the Jacket, rswritten by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David.  In this one Jerry splurges on a high priced jacket, which leads to hilarious high jinks!   Write us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com  Erin and Ashford would love to hear your comments about our favorite 90's show.
36:07 12/15/17
Episode 9: The Phone Message
The Phone Message is a Seinfeld episode where we are introduced to the extremes this show will go as far as absurdity of the mundane.  Anything is on the table.  Jerry is taking shots at Docker pants, and George is willing to go to great lengths to start a relationship based on distrust and deceit.   Erin and Ashford discuss the anxieties and pitfalls of dating, which are broached on this episode as well as others going forward.  Please e-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com.  You can find other episodes of The Four Who Rule - A Seinfeld Podcast at www.seinfeldpodcast.libsyn.com Tweet us @4thatrule. Episode 10: The Apartment
Jerry tries to do Elaine a solid by informing her of an upstairs apartment that is now available, only to regret having his ex-girlfriend living upstairs from him.  And George, our lovable liar, tries to get dates by wearing a wedding ring. Wow! Erin and Ashford rated this episode 3 out of 5 Superman Shields.  What did you think?  Please let us know on Twitter at @4ThatRule.  We have a Facebook page titled The 4 Who Rule.  Add us!  Or, you can always e-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
36:30 1/26/18
Episode 11: The Statue
The Statue really starts the ball rolling with all four characters involved with the plot, and the creators thoughts and hostility towards the highfalutin are quite evident with our guest characters, an aspiring thespian/academic type and an aspiring writer.   Kramer has more to do, Elaine's career is given more light and George and Jerry are more school boy childlike than ever.
31:20 2/3/18
Episode 12: The Revenge
Ashford and Erin discuss the Revenge, and its problematic plot, dealing with slipping people a drug that makes them not aware of their faculties. Played for laughs in the early 90s and 80s, but under the "wokeness" of today's climate, quite disturbing to say the least. Yes, George wants to slip his sexist boss a drink containing a "mickey".  No harm no foul, right?  But we have to question one of our main characters having a "mickey" hook up without question why his mickey hook up has mickey concoctions in the first place.
30:51 2/20/18
Episode 13: The Heart Attack
Erin and Ashford discuss The Heart Attack, which really goes into poking fun of new age types, explores George's neurosis/quirks, and solidifies the character, Kramer, as a force on the show.  Please e-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com or contact us on Twitter @4ThatRule.  We also have a Facebook page: The Four Who Rule: A Seinfeld Podcast.
39:19 2/26/18
Episode 14: The Deal
Friends with benefits.  Can it be done?  Is the mere attempt a study in hubris?  Elaine and Jerry try to draft a constitution for the two to remain friends, yet still engage in extra recreational activities.  Let us know what you think at feathersandfoes@gmail.com  Or on Twitter @4ThatRule
34:00 3/11/18
Episode 15: The Baby Shower
Erin is out, but don't worry, she will be back next episode.  And you can also reduce any anxiety you might have, for Ashford is not flying solo.  Oh no.  Delvin has agreed to make a guest spot to discuss The Baby Shower, for the classic hit television show, Seinfeld.  Illegal cable, Kennedy references, Russians, and a Baby Shower.  Heck of a combination.  E-Mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
62:37 3/15/18
Episode 16: The Chinese Restaurant
Going out to eat is such a human act.  Attending a place where others will serve you your food is quite a unique trait of the human race compared to other species of the animal kingdom.  The Four Who Rule minus one attends a Chinese Restaurant where the wait time is like purgatory...without the magazines.  Sorry, I don't know where I was going with that one.  Elaine, Jerry, and George are attending a bad b-movie, and I'm not talking about the Bee Movie.  But before the movie, they want to fill their bellies.  Erin and Ashford discuss on episode 16 of the Four Who Rule: A Seinfeld Podcast.
34:43 3/23/18
Episode 17: The Bus Boy
Erin and Ashford discuss the season finale of season 2, the Bus Boy, written by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David. Not meaning to, George causes the firing of a Bus Boy, hence the title.  Feeling responsible for this unfortunate event, George tries to make up for it, only causing more grief for the character he is trying to appease.   Meanwhile, Elaine is trying to get rid of her "nice guy" man friend.  He was great for a weekend, but for a full blown week...a bit much.  This is the episode where the Elaine character is given some material where she could display her chops.   We gave this one a 2 out of 5 Superman Shields.  E-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
29:17 4/6/18
Episode 18: The Note
The season opener for the 3rd series is the Note, written by Larry David.  Receiving a massage from a man, George really questions himself, while receiving no help or support from his friends.  Great open to the season.  As a viewer, one can really tell that the show took a leap forward.  Even Jerry in the opening scene, giving virtually a routine/bit/monologue to the massage therapist, scares her off with his morose, creep factor banter about abducted children.  Seinfeld's performance while giving the monologue was quite good. Let us know your "What is the Deal?"  And when is the last time you got the "Hook Up"? e-mail Erin and Ashford at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
31:12 4/13/18
Episode 19: The Truth
George is going out with a woman whom he deems as pretentious.  Although George believes that the Truth maybe the way to go, this causes a conflict of interest with Jerry, for the Pretentious Patrice, George's dating friend, has Jerry's records, helping him with a Tax Audit situation.  And on the other side of the mountain, Kramer is dating Elaine's roommate, which leads to some strange bed fellow follies.   Listen to Erin and Ashford discuss The Truth by Elaine Pope.   Write to us a feathersandfoes@gmail.com  Share a "What is the Deal?" with us.  We would love your take on dealing.
32:19 4/21/18
Episode 20: The Pen
The Pen by Larry David really did not move the two hosts of the Four Who Rule, Ashford and Erin.  Without Kramer and George, this episode is truly depended on the double act of Jerry and Elaine, which is quite good, but with the retirement home bickering and rumors, things get annoying rather quickly.   What do you think about the Pen?
29:27 4/29/18
Episode 21: The Dog
Ashford and Erin are your hosts for the the episode, The Dog, by Larry David.  Jerry meets a gentlemen that is not at full capacity to take care of his dog, so Jerry is burdened with providing shelter for this guy's canine.  Meanwhile Elaine and George are trying to figure out their roles together when Jerry isn't around.  And what do they resort to?  Making fun of Jerry, of course.  E-mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com We would love to hear your responses.
32:12 5/13/18
Episode 22: The Library
Larry Charles wrote a story where he had Kramer dress up like Joe Friday in Dragnet to retrieve a statue for Jerry and George.  In the episode, the Library, Larry Charles writes a character name Mr. Bookman who is on the case to bust Seinfeld for an overdue book back in 1971.  Will Jerry beat the case?  Listen to Erin and Ashford discuss.
40:04 5/18/18
Episode 23: The Garage
Erin and Ashford discuss Ashford's very first episode, the Garage by Larry David.  This episode gives insight to the anxiety of being lost, not in a supermarket, but a parking garage.  Check us out and write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
36:52 6/2/18
Episode 24: The Cafe
April and Ashford discuss The Cafe, which is a study in cringe worthy colonization.  OK, perhaps that is too strong, but Jerry going into a person's establishment, telling him that he has it all wrong and suggesting what the owner should do...is just a bit much.  Write to us your opinions of the The Cafe.
40:49 6/14/18
Episode 25: The Tape
April and Ashford discuss the Seinfeld episode the Tape.  This is the one where a woman left a sultry message on Jerry's tape recorder while he was performing his stand up.  After Jerry, George, and Kramer discover the true culprit, Elaine, the fellows are now looking at her in a whole new light.  And George is calling China for a hair cream that cures baldness.  That's right.  He's calling China!
55:29 6/21/18
Episode 26: The Nose Job
April and Ashford discuss the Seinfeld episode, The Nose Job.  George is having issues with his new girlfriend's nose.  Jerry is catching feelings in an elevator, and Kramer is trying to reach the end of his iconic jacket story arc.  Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com about your opinions and concerns.
58:39 7/1/18
Episode 27: The Stranded
April and Ashford discuss the Stranded.  Yes, three of the gang of 4 trek to Long Island for a mature, adult party.  Navigating through the adulting not only creates anxiety for our main characters, but the motifs of favors throughout this episode leads towards an unexpected climax.  Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com.
79:56 7/4/18
Episode 28: The Alternate Side
On this episode of the 4 Who Rule, April and Ashford rate the story of Seinfeld, the Alternate Side, 4 1/2 Superman Shields, the highest rating thus far.  An episode known for the line, "These pretzels are making me thirsty," but this saga is about so much more.  This is one of the first episodes where Jerry exudes his personality as the character on television who couldn't be more aloof or self-centered, convincing the rest of the television audience and  tv creators that this is the new wave.   E-Mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com
68:24 7/18/18
Episode 29: The Red Dot
Ashford and Delvin discuss the Red Dot by Larry David.  Yep, this came in just in time for the holiday season.  Gifts are being exchanged, folks are drinking and being merry, and George is starting to become the pitiful, despicable character we know him to be later in the show's run.  We rated this one about a 3.6 Superman Shields out of 5.  Write to us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com for comments, you What Is The Deal?, or concerns.
46:53 8/6/18
Episode 30: The Subway
April and Ashford discuss the Seinfeld episode entitled The Subway, which takes you back to 1990's New York...pre the Rudy Guiliani  takeover.  This is the first episode where we really see the gang with four separate story lines.   E-Mail us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com.
