To put out a manifesto you must want: ABC to fulminate against 1, 2, 3 to fly into a rage and sharpen your wings to conquer and disseminate little abcs and big abcs, to sign, shout, swear, to organize prose into a form of absolute and irrefutable evidence, to prove your non plus ultra and maintain that novelty resembles life just as the latest-appearance of some whore proves the essence of God. His existence was previously proved by the accordion, the landscape, the wheedling word. To impose your ABC is a natural thing— hence deplorable. Everybody does it in the form of crystalbluffmadonna, monetary system, pharmaceutical product, or a bare leg advertising the ardent sterile spring. The love of novelty is the cross of sympathy, demonstrates a naive je m'enfoutisme, it is a transitory, positive sign without a cause. But this need itself is obsolete. In documenting art on the basis of the supreme simplicity: novelty, we are human and true for the sake of amusement, impulsive, vibrant to crucify boredom. At the crossroads of the lights, alert, attentively awaiting the years, in the forest. I write a manifesto and I want nothing, yet 1 say certain things, and in principle I am against manifestoes, as I am also against principles (half-pints to measure the moral value of every phrase too too convenient; approximation was invented by the impressionists). I write this manifesto to show that people can perform contrary actions together while taking one fresh gulp of air; I am against action; for continuous contradiction, for affirmation too, I am neither for nor against and I do not explain because I hate common sense. Stalktober continues on +10 XP, this week we'retalking lesser known Stalker-likes (OC pls don't steal). We both brought one in for dissection. Hit the episode to find out the details on why we liked these games, but if you cant wait K-Slick recommended STALCRAFT if you have a buddy to play it with and Caligula thinks you should play Chernobylite. Editor's note: Wildermyth is spelled like this, not however Caligula was saying it was spelled.

The gang is back an this week we are deep in STALKTOBER, so we are going to be talking vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl! That's right, we're dissecting the 2007 classic itself, and what a dissection it is! Our sweet baby boy K-Slick tries his best to defend this game as Incitatus smears grime and gloom on it. It's a lively episode about a fun throwback game so hit the episode and laugh along with us. And of course continue to join us for more STALKTOBER!

Join hosts Caligula Q. Strawman and K-Slick as they review Cobalt Core, a roguelike deck buidling adventure! Cobalt Core was developed by Rocket Rat Games, and published by Brace Yourself Games. It was released on the Nintendo Switch, as well as Windows, on November 8th, 2023. In this cute, yet cerebral, sci fi card game you'll select three out of eight possible crew members, board one of several ships, and battle your way out of a time loop. Battles take place on a single axis, with the player playing cards to move the ship, apply shields, or fire cannons among other things. The gang praised the writing, dark mode aesthetic, unique game play, and various build options. Cobalt Core scored a 7.5/10, and both hosts would recommend the game to all players. Listen to the episode to dive into the details.

GotY Watch returns with a review of Lies of P! This is Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio joint. It was released on September 19th 2023 for the Xbox Series X/S, Windos, macOS, Playstation 5, and some last gen stuff. We praised almost everything about this game with the standouts being setting, music, and gameplay. We both recommend this game, would play as sequel, and would purchase DLC for it. It owns, dude. We gave it a final score of 7.4 and declared it the heir to the Soulslike Throne.

We are back and playing to our strengths, which means we are playing total garbage! This game sucks, it's really very terrible and the people who like it are worse. I'll stand by that. I would be ashamed to have my name attached to this game, as a matter of fact, I am ashamed that we even did a show on this game. Miserable, mierable stuff. Shadow Warrior 3 marks a return of the Shadow Warrior franchise. It was unleashed on poor unsuspecting game enjoyers and hack reviewers on March 1st, 2022. It is "playable" on the XBox One, XBox Series X/S, Playstation 4 and 5, and Microsoft Windows platforms. Please don't play this game. We had little good to say about this game. We praised some of the art. That's it. Otherwise this game is a dumpster fire. This is the episode we're going to be sending to sponsers. Wish us luck!

K-Slick and the intrepid permahosts, Caligula & Miss Ellanea, have fought through the cold of night and its unnamable horrors to see the dawn! Though Miss Ellanea fought on a completely different front than the boys, and with completely different armaments (the likes of which would befuddled and frustrate most humans), she is glad to be rejoined with her Dada family. She has little to say, and like the trio's near silent spectral companion prefers to listen to proud and righteous tales pouring forth from the two boisterous boys. These two, having been rigorously reinvigorated deep in their soul-meats, regale the group with their many stories as brothers in arms in the great battle of Ramadan. Praise the Sun! …and join us, dear listener.

Sheer black, peppered with glowing specks of shimmering sand, ebbs into a deep blue. A single figure admist two others peers up from their shivering circle about the smoldering ashes of last night's fire. Their wide eyes can see the hues unraveling the night's grip on the sky and they know: sunrise nears. Here we find our permahosts joined once more with K-slick on the outskirts of the unmapped wilds. Cold and rainsoaked, yet nonetheless in good spirits for the sun shall soon cast its wonderful rays down upon their sorry hides. Here, huddled around their last source of external warmth, they pass the time by way of a conversational rabbit hole concerning a new direction for the TrashCast, Pac-Man's possible spiritual successor, Trapper Keepers… for MEN, and much more. A palaver, a meeting, an exchange of words. The permahosts have found themselves in a house of shimmering glass, all sights and sounds reflected, distorted, as they debate the finer points of property ownership and strange happenings in the realm of fighting games. The shapes they see in the feverish flashes of light seem pleased in presence of their discourse, and so appeased may be more pliable to the duo's extrication. Or they may hold them forever as tellers of tales, as once was Shahrazad… Join us, dear listener. Intro/outro music: NECO ARC BEAT TYPE 2 - Sastra Moment https://youtu.be/mFHwtHF-98o

Marvel Snap is a collectable, digital, free to play card game that was developed by Nuverse and Second Dinner Studios Inc, and published by Nuverse. It was released on macOS, iOS, Andriod, and Microsoft Windows on October 18th, 2022. We would both recommend this game, it's definitly worth checking out, that being said don't spend money on it until you break collection level 500 as that is where a clear picture of the game is presented to you. We praised it for it's fast games, small deck sizes, and fun builds. Final notes, we held a funeral for Sunspot. It was sad. Leave our boy alone. I still have yet to see someone play Sentry. I will be accepting a free Sentry just to rep him. Hit me up.

This week we dive into the curiousity Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card game which was developed by 墨日工作室 and DarkSun Studio, and published by Gamera Games. This is an online, 8 player, deckbuilding game, that includes auto battling mechanics. It was released December 6th, 2022 for Microsoft Windows. We played it on Steam. We praised the game for it's unique gameplay, dense mechanics, and 8 player format. Yi Xian also includes a single player mode, a mode more card games need. If you like competitive card games give this game a look. It's unique and fun, truly a breath of fresh air.

Far in their aural travels, the permahosts Caligula & Miss Ellanea have happened upon a curious waystation hewn deep into mountainside. Warm firelight and music spill forth from its facade, and boisterous laughter within echoes off cold rock without. The permahosts know now they have wandered across the realm of Akkatoz, Streamer of Games, Slayer of Baun. What tremendous fortune for our intrepid duo. Join our palaver over poetry, prose, the delineation between scifi & fantasy, a brief overview of converting coal power plants to nuclear plants, and more. Vampire Survivors is a rogue-like shoot em up published and developed by poncle. It was initially released on March 31, 2021. It is now on a litany of consoles and hand held devices. We praised this game for it's satisfying gameplay, time travel inducing runs, and it's overall presentation. I can't speak highly enough about it. We both would recommend this game. So go check out Vampire Survivors. There's no reason not to. Seriously. I'll wait.

Between the horrors of the void and the blinding righteous rage in the previous two installments, our permahosts were nearly dissolved into the dark forevermore! Yet they remain, unburdening themselves from debris and setting their askew limbs straight, but they remain. As they recover from the licks and salvos of yore, they wax jubilantly over the nature of friendship in minority populations, stopping street fights without getting involved, bootstappin' video games, and the ephemerality of our favorite (and not so favorite) medias and mediums. Hogwarts Legacy is an action RPG released February 7th, 2023 for Microsoft Windows, X Box Series X/S, and Playstation 5. It was published by Warner Bros. Games and was developed by Avalanche Games. We praised it for capturing the Harold Potterman vibes, artistic direction, and overall package. We also praised it's side quests and character writing. Caligula would recommend this game to people familiar with the franchise, Mia liked the game but would not recommend it. So maybe check it out if you have a Harry Potter tattoo.

In the icy froth of the turbulent Atlantic juts a jagged mass, a great thrust upon which the frigid waves may crash. Many a lord hath bade their heaving tribes to hollow the rock of this place, to stack and mortar it into walls and walkways. Towers and parapets. Law and order. "Once a King lived there," they would say, "then he died and the new King of all kingdoms was crowned. That's when the ravens moved in. They had the run of the place for centuries– until recently, when something… else… ran them out." Strange eminations pulse from out the cracks in the castle stone, vibrations of an inhuman sort. They reach their tendrils far before scattering diffuse into æther. To invade. The feed. Our thoughts. Now a strange new game is on the market, born of the void inside those castle walls. It's causing chaos in the streets, tearing friendships apart, and disrupting communities worldwide, yet this game offers naught but exalted escape. Beautiful nostalgia. Instant digital bliss. What could be wrong with that? No one would speak of these terrors, not one soul anywhere on Earth (unbelievable, right?), until Dada hit the scene. Caligula and Alchemia– having tasted the wares of the abyss– square up against Miss Ellanea and Vi, academic witches who have not dabbled in the dark depths firsthand. Join us dear listener as we discuss the ethics and emotions around Hogwarts Legacy. Essay not referenced: "Toward a Decolonial Feminism," by María Lugones. The sky grows grey, thick clouds weaving into a roiling churn. The earth below quakes, cracks of lightning illuimating a distant lone figure. All is silent, even the everpresent chatter of the permahosts– Caligula & Miss Ellanea– and it is then you know: he is coming. The one true prophet of the far flung stars (once removed), Atreides, has come to the aural realm to challenge the assertions of the Christian capitalist high priest, Sovereign Imagineer of Answers in Genesis, Tim Chaffey. It's a bright blistering download of historical context straight into your data-meat, dear listener, make sure your buffers are cleared. Vault of the Void is a deck building, rogue-lite, CCG video game published and developed by Spider Nest Games (not Stinky Cat), released November 20th, 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and MacOS. We praised it's deep, comlicated gameplay, adjustable deck structure, and unlockable alt art sets. We also praised it's graphical clarity and hexagon based game progression. We both would recommend this game, with the caveat that the Strawman in question had prior card game knowledge.

From the sky comes forth a hot blast, a fireball of hot Dada, hurtling straight into your ears! K-Slick joins permahosts Caligula and Miss Ellanea to discuss remakes… of old DND campaigns? Miss Ellanea rants about House Bill 9 in Tennessee which bans drag shows (and potentially trans people) in public, and the murder of an unarmed Pueblo man at the hands of sheriff deputies. K-Slick bemoans his disappointing experience of Tennessee's New Year's Eve "celebrations," and Caligula recounts his latest exploits in the realm of carnal desire. It's a hot, hot fireball of Dada just for you, dear listener. Intro/outro music: NECO ARC BEAT TYPE 2 - Sastra Moment https://youtu.be/mFHwtHF-98o

The dirty, dusty boys are back in town! And they brought Chained Echoes with them. Chained Echoes is a GRPG developed by Matthias Linda and published by Deck13. It was released on December 8th, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X/S, Playstation 4 and 5, as well as Microsoft Windows, Linux, and MacOS. We declared this game some kind of Chrono Cross/Chrono Trigger-like. We can do that, we're real games journalists. We praised this games fantastic writing, directorial flourishes, and combat systems. We would recommend this game to the average video game enjoyer. So go check it out. It's worth your time and money, especially if you're craving a more old school RPG experience.

The void is thick, wet even, with the slick sheen of TEXAS. Perma-hosts Caligula & Miss Ellanea beat their way through this one on a bucket of coffee and a thimbleful of sleep, bringing you such wonderful topics as the oppressive state, cybernetics, the oppressive state, psychedelics & therapy, the oppressive state, middling on "middling," and yes– even more on the oppressive state. We played the Firaxis Games and Virtous joint Marvel's Midnight Suns. It was released December 1st, 2022 on just about any modern console that runs game, up to and including Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, as well as Nintendo Switch. This game is a roleplaying Marvel card game so it scratches every good itch outside of Atomicrops ,which is the goat. We both recommend this game. Alchemia listed it as the only game she 100%'d. We praised it's writing, voice acting, and modular card game mechanics. Alchemia said it made her a better friend. Rad. Go check it out, it's totally worth your money and time.

Once again you have found us in the EMF soup. Us, the permahosts, Caligula & Miss Ellanea, float in the crowded aural æther awaiting eager ears hungry for stimulation. An experience we glad bestow to you, the listener. Yet you were not the first to find us here! Alchemia (Mia) joins us to talk through how to not steal but still find use from torrents, D&D and the challenges of DM'ing (go read a book), and the use of Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA) as an excellent– if demanding– form of protest. Tainted Grail: Conquest is a hybrid deck building rogue-like and RPG joint developed by Questline and published by Awaken Realms that was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S on May 27th, 2021. We would both recommend this game to people who have already played a few rogue-like deck builders. You don't want this game to pop any cherries. We both did and didn't praise it's grimderp writing. Simply put, this game sucks and I love it. Hit the episode for more details. If dark settings, card games, and rogue-likes are a thing you like then hit Steam, GOG, or the Xbox store. It's a neat little project. This joint is also based on or tied into a board game. We're gonna check it out, too.
