Bleep Bulimia Episode 78 with Greg Wieting Healer on Metabolizing Your Trauma
Unpack and heal your trauma with Greg.  He helps people feel the pain to be able to metabolize it.  Can we create our own trauma?  Why do we hide our trauma?  Greg speaks to relationships with others being so important.  Greg works with people to connect to their inate wisdom.  These notes will never be able to clearly define Greg's own wisdom and the wonderful responses to the questions I ask him.  Listen from start to finish to hear those in-depth answers to questions I asked that were not so simple to find an answer to.Being able to feel some really hard things needs to be done slowly, and that is a part of healing. You can reach Greg at https://www.gregwieting.com or at https://www.prismamethod.comMore about PRISMA:The PRISMA Course is the owner's manual and roadmap for mental, emotional, and spiritual health. And he brings a unique take on how to effectively heal the trauma that underlies anxiety, depression, and chronic pain without chasing or suppressing symptoms.Greg can geek out on neuroscience, energy medicine, and mindfulness making it practical, relevant, accessible, and fun. :)Support the show

Bleep Bulimia Episode 76 with Josie Warren Chronic Illness Expert and On Recovering from Her Eating Disorder
Josie Warren and I discussed her work, and why she became a Chronic Illness Expert.  Part of that was overcoming her own struggle with bulimia, which she is now recovered 7 years from.  Josie says she thought she would be a lifetime bulimic and is happy to have learned that she could indeed overcome it.  Josie started her bulimia at about 12 in 7th grade, and in high school, it became more regular, three to seven times a day, daily for well over a decade.Josie came from a family of bulimics and eating disorders.  There was a time that she would have said it was because of her family and she was fated to be bulimic.  She changed her mindset saying she was the one who chose bulimia.  Bulimia is not visible.  It is a secret to the one who is bulimic.  "I could hide it behind a closed door," says Josie.  We chatted about how we thought other people thought about us was really about how we really felt about ourselves.  What inspired Josie to seek recovery?  Her deteriorating health condition was the reason.  The avenues of therapy were not working.  Someone suggested connecting with A New Life Center in Colorado.  She went in for her auto-immune issues and chronic illnesses.  She was accepted into their program and found out that chronic stress was the reason for her illnesses.  This led to dealing with those suppressed stresses, and with that, a magical thing happened and her bulimia also was cured.  Josie speaks to the sympathetic, flight or fight stage of stress, and entering into the para-sympathetic nervous system, where the body regains homeostasis.Wonderful information.  A must listen to.To connect with Josie, please visit https://hashimotosfix.com/contact-josie-warrenThis link takes you to her website and a contact form. Bleep Bulimia Episode #75 with Leah Sharing Her Story of Recovery
Leah is brave in sharing her story, as were my previous guests.  In this case, I found it interesting that, as Leah said, not many women start later in life to have an eating disorder.  Although it is becoming more common, it is still outside of the norm. Most women who struggle with later issues with eating disorders did start in their earlier years.  This is true.  So that Leah shared as a person who started later in life, and that her story coincides with the Pandemic and too with anxiety, is very interesting. As noted in this podcast episode, Leah felt it was a long time.  It took her a year to reach out.  And it took her another year to find the proper support.  In my mind, I wish all those who suffered for 10, 20, and 30 years had that same feeling of it being a long time.  And for finding support sooner.I have to reiterate that I give accolades to Leah for opening up.  It's not easy.  And yet it's so important to my listeners to know they are not alone. Here is the link to the article Leah referenced:How “Playing the Tape Forward” Helped Me Stay SoberWhy this visualization technique is one of the most powerful recovery tools that I know.By Benya ClarkDo you have a story?  Please contact me if you are ready to share it.New Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Podcast #74 with Shani-Lee Wallis Author of War With Myself
This was a very inspiring Podcast, where Shani shares her journey through recovery.  I loved that she focussed on what it is truly about.  Emotions.  At times it starts off differently, however, it always transitions into that emotional realm. The question to ask, as Shani so clearly states, is the "Why".  Used in business, and why you want to succeed, rarely is it used for this.  Thank you, Shani, for speaking about this.Wonderfully honest and open, and I love that Shani shared her story for anyone out there struggling to listen to.Bulimia can be beaten, and without ever wanting to go back.  This is the truth. You can find her at warwithmyself.com and on FB War With Myself No More.More about Shani-Lee:Shani-Lee grew up in Newcastle, England with childhood secrets that manifested into a battle with Bulimia. She emigrated to Arizona, where she started to unpeel the complex layers of emotions that her secrets had inflicted. As she incorporated life-changing habits into her lifestyle, she was able to heal and overcome her turbulent and dangerous relationship with her eating disorder.Writing was always just a therapeutic outlet until she realized she had something valuable to share. Turning her own journey of self-help into a path to help others, is how War with Myself was born. What is she doing now? Shani-Lee is getting ready to launch a series of in-person & online workshops to help those that will benefit from peer mentorship.  Each workshop will encompass and encourage the principles of EDIT.a method that helps you to understand your Eating Disorder Voice, exploring why it’s there in the first place and how it serves a purpose.  It transitions into Intuitive Therapy which encourages you to open up and heal from within and gain new skills to aid in your recovery. Mindful movement, journaling, group work, meditation, affirmations, sponsorship, acts of kindness, and more…   Support the show

Bleep Bulimia Episode 72 with Rick Carson Author of Taming Your Gremlin
"A Surprisingly Simple Method for Getting Out of Your Own Way" is the tag line for the Taming Your Gremlin book by Rick Carson.  It was in 2013, 2 years recovered from the "act" of bulimia that I was introduced to his book through a coaching program I was taking through Handwriting University called the PRISM Life Redesign Program designed by Bart Baggett, the Founder.  He explained to me his mother convinced him this book would be valuable.  I agree.  As a recovered bulimic after 30 years, (now going on 12 years recovered) Rick's book was what I needed to address the "final" steps towards recovery and the steps towards self-awareness, moving forward, and "noticing".When I contacted Rick to ask him to be on my Podcast (I do have two so we did manage to share Rick's message to both), he agreed, feeling that Bleep Bulimia listeners would find value in his message, and I was so thrilled. (Super EXCITED would be a better way of expressing my feelings)  However, I also believe that there are many Coaches and guests who have been on the LIFT Your Story podcast who would benefit from listening to this.  Hence, my co-host Roy was invited to represent that Podcast.  Thank you, Roy.I hope you really get something out of this because for years I have reread and reviewed my copy of the book and now I am reading A Master Class In Gremlin Taming.  I am halfway through it, and Rick has advised me that the really exciting part is in the last half - Now I am even more anxious to get through it!Truly an honor to have Rick Carson on our podcast.   In my journey in life, he is one of the top legends.  I can't put him above God.  Sorry, Rick. :)I can say I wish I had been introduced to this book earlier in my life, and maybe I would not have gone 30 years struggling with bulimia.  On the other hand, I am grateful I did at all!   Be it during your recovery, or even post-recovery, it's a gem to have.  In fact, it's a gem to have at any time for anyone!Rick does give us some information at the end of this podcast regarding his 2023 program.  You can also create a group and he will work the program out for your group.  You can reach him at support@tamingyourgremlin.com or take a visit to his "simple" website www.tamingyourgremlin.com.  #tamingyourgremlin #RickCarson #bulimiarecovery #bleepbulimia #midlifebulimiawareness #notice #greatmessage Support the show

You can reach Elena by going to https://www.sentidu.com/contact/More about Elena: "I am a personal coach who holds space for you to have absolute awareness about yourself and accompany you on your journey toward evolution. This is all you need to thrive in all aspects of life and leave a healthy legacy to future generations so that our children can live and love as their true selves. If you are determined and ambitious, don’t give much ear to the status quo, are action-oriented, open-minded, and driven by a strong personal desire to accomplish meaningful goals, then you are ready to fully take the lead of your life. Why do we need absolute awareness? We all inherit our family’s emotional baggage. This can be contaminated by destructive family convictions and tendencies, past traumas, and inner conflicts. This toxic inheritance affects the natural development of our potential and our psychological, emotional, and physical functioning, compromising the quality of our lives. Therefore instead of creating our own reality we repeat our family’s painful (hi)story. We can change the course of our (hi)story and become the authentic leaders of our experience.Allowing a true awareness of our being, 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘶, we can reshape our lives, healing what needs to be healed and letting go of what doesn’t serve us anymore. This way we can find the balance to serenely evolve into new human beings. We will find our own way, and free from conditionings, create and experience the life we aim for, allowing ourselves to ride the waves of life without being overwhelmed by events. How Can I Help You?Through my highly empathic nature, I create a safe environment where you feel at peace so that you open yourself to acknowledge the real reasons behind your dissatisfaction and embrace your internal renewal. I help you using 𝘴𝘶 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘶 - Sardinian language - that means the ability to see things for what they really are, that I developed during my own personal journey, and that I put at service to others. Why me?I offer support in the following areas: relationships, parenting, leadership, and lifestyle. My authority in this field is based on extensive independent research and on my personal experience. Having coached myself throughout a depression, eating disorders, and domestic violence, and working as a coach in the emotional field for 10 years, I know how to identify and eliminate those obstacles that are a discordant note in our lives.I offer 1:1 personal coaching with 2 different services to choose from: 6 months coaching program – individual coaching sessions."New Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Episode 65 with Cynthia Klein Author of Ally Parenting
When her daughter was growing up, Cynthia realized she was not ready for parenting and how to deal with it.  She was coaching at the time and decided to research this topic.  There was nothing that she truly answered the question she was looking for.   It was what inspired her to research it further and to write her book Ally Parenting.Cynthia explains that everything she is talking about in regards to communication blocks is applicable to all relationships, be it children, spouses, or friends. The important thing is how you respond to make them either open to you or move away from you.   So how do parents overcome the communication block?  First, you have to listen to what they are saying.   It's important to respond in a way they feel heard.  Cynthia provides an example that is "placating".  That is when you want them to feel better and take away their "something" is usually our first impulse.  The child interprets it differently. This is a communication block.   Cynthia provides a few more valuable examples worth listening to!In Cynthia's book, she has a chart with a list of ten potential communication blocks, and the underlying message that the other person can perceive it as.This episode is a must listen to for anyone. The book as well.  In this Podcast, I felt this to be invaluable for parents dealing with children with bulimia, as I have coached in the past, and midlife bulimics to learn themselves how to communicate with others. Here are some important links to how to reach Cynthia and her free gift:"Enjoy my gift of - 8 Dos and Don’ts of Parenting" -https://ally-parenting.com/8doscynthia@bridges2understanding.comhttps://www.bridges2understanding.comBook link: https://bit.ly/Ally-Parenting    https://linkedin.com/in/cynthiajklein/More about Cyntia:Family Happiness Expert and Parenting Coach Cynthia Klein’s passion is to create world peace by first creating peace within each family. Wonderful chat with Joseph about the amazing mental and physical impact dancing has.  This was a beautiful conversation without the direct composition about bulimia, however, it does relate in a way of a great release of anxiety, depression, and overwhelms. And it's NOT ABOUT BEING PERFECT!How many of you out there love to dance, and just don't anymore because of life's expectations?A fun fact we talk about is ballet.  I wanted to be a ballet dancer however I was too tall.  That didn't stop me.  Dad and Mom danced the jitterbug, and Dad taught me how to "listen" and communicate with the hands of my partner.   I took Jazz Ballet and many other dance styles.  I even taught 20-year-olds when I was 38 how hands work when dancing with a partner and how to flip them by having them do that to me to practice before they did it with their dates :).  Dancing is life.   That is why Joseph was so important for me to have on this podcast.  Even if you "wanted to be a dancer", you always can be and Joseph is your biggest fan!I remember when I was bulimic, and truthfully would not be during the times I would go out with my girlfriend Dee and just dance.  Just dance...  As Joseph explains, dance is a great way to resolve life issues if you let yourself go.I love when Joseph has his little quotes.   Listen to the Podcast to hear them.  Beautiful.  One of two of my favorites is "Dance it out".I highly recommend signing up even if just for ONE Saturday to his dance/movement class.  Check out how much fun people are having on his website https://www.567broadway.comJoseph is obviously humble.  So here is more about him and I had to cut some info out so please visit his site.Joseph Corella is a Choreographer, Broadway performer, dance teacher, and fitness instructor, but at his core, Joseph is a teacher. Using his dance, theatre, and fitness background, he has traveled the globe, spreading this love and understanding of the importance of movement to such places as Japan, France, England, and Canada, as well as dozens of cities across the United States.  Joseph’s connection to movement started in his early childhood with extensive training in jazz, tap, contemporary, and ballet. At thirteen, he became a member of famed choreographer Marguerite Derricks’ prestigious dance company, Tremaine Teen Company, and shortly thereafter appeared in Disney’s Geppetto alongside pop superstar Usher. In 1997, Joseph was named American Dance Awards’ Teen Male Dancer of the Year. Soon after, the band Tropic Zone was created around Joseph and 2 others, with whom he toured extensively, including the US. He teamed up with fitness guru, Cassey Ho of Blogilates and Pop Pilates creator, for a YouTube collaboration, seen by her 4.4 million followers. Joseph is the owner/creator of 567BROADWAY! Bleep Bulimia Episode 60 with David Medansky The Overweight Person's Best Friend and Author
Why does David Medansky call himself the Overweight Person's Best Friend?  It all stems from his own experience of being overweight and being told that he had two choices.  Lose weight or he may die.  His doctor told him that if he didn't lose the weight, he would rather David find another doctor, as he didn't want him to die on his watch.David takes the same approach now when he is helping people with weight loss, specifically after they have reached their ideal weight.  "You will not gain weight under my watch".David doesn't believe in diets, he believes in changing your diet.  "Diet" has become a household name for fad eating habits that are often very limiting and they don't work.  The true meaning of diet is, as per Webster's Dictionationary, "food and drink regularly provided or consumed."  It does not necessarily refer to limiting food intake.  It is WHAT YOU EAT.David is the author of Break the Diet Chains of Dieting - A guide to achieving a healthy lifestyle.    In it you will find:The secrets of the diet industry – that diets are designed to fail. Bleep Bulimia Episode 59 with Tammy Doering The Fight Aging Now Coach About Awareness
A very compelling story about bulimia.  Tammy wants parents to recognize the signs.  Understandably even when you see "signs" parents can be stuck in a position of denial or fear or lack of understanding because it's scary to not understand. In the era that Tammy had bulimia, as with me, our parents didn't have the literature available to them that there is today. However, with that, today with Social Media there are a lot more reasons that this dis-ease is still one that is growing.  To this, it is still why even women in their 40s and 50s, and 60s are still struggling.Tammy's opening up about all her pain, and how she struggled with honesty is paramount.  Many women and men are afraid to share that story.  Tammy is a testimonial that the struggle is a means to a better life.  A journey that takes you to a better place as long as you reach out and find that support.Thank you, Tammy, for sharing your journey and how far you have come with a business that you are passionate about. You can find out more about Tammy and her new life at  www.AvivSpa.com and  www.AvivCBD.comMore About TammyHello, my name is Tammy Doering.  I’m your ‘Fight Aging Now!’™ Coach, dedicated to helping women eliminate toxic beauty products, get healthier, have more energy, build their self-confidence, sculpt their bodies and feel FABULOUS about their appearance at any age. I am the Founder & Cosmetic Chemist at AvivSPA™ Dead Sea Products and AvivCBD™. Bleep Bulimia Episode 58 with Cristian Hauser The Peruvian Go Giver The Other Side When You Are Reaching Out To A Bulimic
I met Cristian two years ago.  We mention one year, however looking back, it's been two.  When Forbes Riley started bringing us together.  At first I wanted Cristian Hauser on to speak to his transformation.  I am amazed at the story he did end up sharing.Beautiful.His sight from the outside looking at a bulimic is precious.  Many of us who have been and are bulimic don't hear these stories, and the few of us that do, sometimes they're not as kind and beautiful.I appreciate Cristian for sharing his story.  His honesty of "what do you do and how do you eat in front of a person you know is bulimic?' (paraphrasing).Cristian has an amazing story too, which was why I invited him.  Being an imposter to others.  Bulimia is about that.  Feeling like you don't belong.  Bulimics feel that quite often.  Alienated.  Hiding.  Scared to be YOU.  I did ask Cristian to share his new beginnings with his course.  It's important that we support each other as humans.  And accept the good, the bad, and the ugly.  And loving all of that bundle with all our heart. You can find out more about Cristian at 1800cristian.comTruly a wonderful young man and grateful I met him and that he is in my life.  Just added meeting him in person to my bucket list. :)New Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Episode 57 with Karen Chaston Author, Speaker and Coach Specializing in Loss on Shame and Vibration
"Look at all the things we had to do happen to become who we are today".Karen's story is inspiring.  Karen lost her son Daniel in 2011 on the 12th of July.  It was a day that was supposed to be a lazy Sunday.  Yet, there he was, lying in a fetal position.Karen and her husband grieved differently.  Now, how does this relate to Bulimia?Karen changed her life.  Left the corporate life and helps people with loss, of which she explains there are over 40 types.   It could be the loss of a person and the loss of self.I brought up shame.  I know many of my clients and women and men who reach out to me bring this up.  This is where Karen brings up the vibration, and shame is at the bottom.  This is where she helps people increase the vibration, one step at a time.  She owns the Chaston Centre, and helps people heal and create their "everyday better day life".Losing identity is not easy.  And some of us with Bulimia, that is truly a part of it.  As well as shame.Karen went on to discuss this "shame" and "vibration", and did share about two people she knew who had bulimia.  One of them was a woman born in 1924.  I could relate and did not share, however, my Aunt had bulimia as well.  she was born in 1927.  Bulimia existed that long ago.  However we didn't have social media, or even back when there were magazines, this was never brought up.  It took Karen Carpenter dying, and then Jane Fonda coming out for us to realize this.  And sadly with Social Media, this is still a problem.I appreciate Karen for her story, sharing it, helping others overcome loss, even if it's finding yourself again, having lost yourself. To view this on YouTube go to Bleep Bulimia on YouTubeYou can reach Karen at www. thechastoncentre.com More about Karen:  Karen ran on the corporate treadmill until the day the world came tumbling down on her head. The constant effort of juggling work, family, the big house and cars, and the stress created by all that was taking its toll on her even before tragedy struck when her son Dan (27), suddenly and very unexpectedly died at her back door in July 2011.Straight after Dan’s funeral, Karen went straight back to her Chief Financial Officer’s role at a Publicly Listed Company, working more, drinking more, and eating more. Using all her coping mechanisms to just carry on and succeed at that level.Karen now knows that Dan’s passing was meant to be her wake-up call. So the Universe decided to show her that death comes in many ways ~ death of a loved one, a marriage, a job, a partnership, a pet, your health, and/or your wealth. Her second death came 15 months later in the form of redundancy when her company merged with another. This was the greatest GIFT.That is when she started on the Journey to Becoming Her Own Best Friend. From there they created the Gift of Loss programs which demonstrate the correlations between loss and people and profits for both individuals and companies. Her mottNew Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Episode 56 with Mel Mason Clutter Expert, #1 International Best Selling Author and Host of The Mel Mason Show On Decluttering Within
What a pleasure to have Mel Mason on this podcast.  To me, her message is important for many who are struggling to recover from bulimia. Her words speak volumes, and her story is compelling and also proves that even through adversity, you can move forward.  In her Freedom From Clutter's 5 Day Challenge which started today, and which I am attending, I loved it when she said to see life (and I am paraphrasing) as a GPS.  You don't use it to see where you were, you use it to know where you are now, and where you want to go.  I loved that.Mel shares about her five books (to become 13), The Mel Mason Show, and also about some of the adventures (and I say "some", because she has had many in the past year in particular that I have followed on Social Media).  Asked what inspires her to be so adventurous, she says "it's my birthright".  She feels that clutter is what stops us from living out our lives. To this, she clarifies that when she speaks to "clutter" she speaks to the internal clutter that can show itself in different ways, including addiction, bulimia, along with hoarding.Mel offers her book Freedom From Clutter to listeners by going to https://www.declutteringspaces.com/freedomfromclutter, and you will also then automatically be added to her list to invite you to the 5 Day Challenge, or you can email Mel at info@declutteringspaces.com. If you would rather have an autographed copy, you can go to her website https://www.declutteringspaces.com.The link for the Conference Mel has organized which she spoke about with $13,000 worth of value for $47, visit  www.daretothrive.netMore about Mel:Best-selling author Mel Mason is The Clutter Expert. As a sexual abuse survivor, she grew up depressed, suicidal, and surrounded by clutter. What she realized after coming back from the brink of despair and getting through her own chaos was that the outside is just a mirror of the inside. And if you only organize the outside without changing the inside, the clutter keeps coming back. That’s why you can clear a surface or organize your closet and in no time, it’s cluttered back up again. So, that set her on a mission to empower people around the world to get free from clutter and experience more happiness and more abundance in every area of their lives. Since then she’s used her own experience to create a step-by-step process designed to help you get free from clutter without feeling overwhelmed, that keeps the clutter from coming back called “The Seven Steps to Manage Overwhelm and Organize ANY Space” and she has written a new book, Freedom From Clutter: The Guaranteed, Foolproof, Step-by-Step Process to ReFreedom From Clutter FREE DOWNLOADABLE COPY by Mel MasonNew Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Episode 55 with Rachel West Personal Growth Coach
What insight on the mind Rachel shares about that "label on your back" and the need to rip it off.  She shares about her childhood and being "labeled" a "slow learner" due to being "different" in that she needed to read aloud.  This label had her spiraling until she took courses in NLP and from there, she learned the need to change the mindset from within.  Rachel shares that your brain takes in 90000 and apparently 80000 are negative thoughts or things we don't want to happen.  And it will only retain 5 to 9 of those things and discard the rest. Bleep Bulimia Episode 54 with Tom Paladino Scalar Light Researcher
Very intriguing podcast subject with Tom Paladino.  I had never heard of it before he reached out to me to share this with my listeners and how it may help with recovery..  Tom is researching scalar light and scalar energy. There were so many questions about this.  How does it work?  Tom explains this in regards to the connection with quantum physics and also how he came to work on further researching this through photographs.Along with explaining this, Tom and I also discussed the history of some cultures that believe if someone takes their photograph that they take a part of their soul.Tom is offering to listeners to try it.  I did ask if there was a subscription after the trial, and he said that although there is, his main goal is to have people try it.   The trial is FREE, so you have nothing to lose and only can gain from trying it.In fact, I have signed up!Tom is clear in stating he is not the one who controls this, but rather "God, a higher divinity".His Facebook page provides more information.  It reads:"I have developed a treatment process whereby I am able to administer the scalar energy reverse-phase angle harmonic of a pathogen, thereby causing that agent of infection to disassemble or fall apart. Scalar energy operates at the quantum level and is capable of disassembling all types of pathogens, thus eliminating the causative agent of disease. Once the causative agent of a pathogen disease has been eliminated, the symptoms associated with that infection decrease or disappear altogether. All scalar light sessions are exclusively administered upon photographs of people, animals, plants, and objects."To sign up for the free trial go to https://scalarlight.com/You can also find Tom on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/experiencescalar/ and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/user/TomPaladinoScalarMore about Tom Paladino:Tom began research with Scalar Energy during his undergraduate years after developing a deep admiration for the father of Scalar Energy research or knowledge, Nikola Tesla. He was also able to study the work of a man Hieronymus who continued research on Scalar Energy. Hieronymus’ major contributions included unbinding the RNA/ DNA bonds of microbes plaguing the agricultural industry (rendering them harmless). The existence of such energy not found within the electromagnetic spectrum fascinated Tom. Inspired by these findings, he pursued a course of independent study seeking to better understand and subsequently harness Scalar Energy, through the development of an instrument called “Scalar Light”.New Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Episode 52 With Cassie Christopher Registered Dietitian
Such a lovely conversation with Cassie.   Being someone who deals with women with midlife bulimia she was pleased to be on the show to be able to share her story and to say "you're not alone".Cassie, herself, struggled with emotional eating, as was her family.  Even though her education, she realized she was more able to help others than herself!   This I could relate to because my daughter said the same about her education through psychology.Cassie said there are four specific areas that matter when it comes to self-care and can free you from emotional eating.Cassie does share those four pillars of self-care, starting with hormones.  She speaks to our "toxic" vocabulary, and she does stress (pun intended) that stress is a part of hormone imbalance as is lack of sleep, and so many more points covered. You can find out more about Cassie at www.cassiechristopher.netMore about Cassie:I’m Cassie Christopher, a Registered Dietitian and Health Coach. As a Masters-trained Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who has helped hundreds of clients reach their health goals, I’ve got more than a soapbox to stand on.  Previously, I spent my time translating personal genetic and blood data, along with the latest scientific evidence to make my clients healthier. Bleep Bulimia Episode 51 Guest Speaks About Full Recovery
I am so honoured to have had this guest on my Podcast.  Rannveig explained that it was the first time she's gone public with her history of being a bulimic.  She is fully recovered, yet says she still holds shame about having been at one time a "bulimic".To me, her ability to speak so profoundly about it brought to mind my own feelings.  I was quite open, even when bulimic, particularly with my daughter to help her understand that it's not the place ever wants to be.   But for a while, there was a shame, or rather a fear of the perception of others if I told them I used to be.  And then that all went away.  It just did, and when that happened, it was when I really knew I wanted to move towards helping others. That portion of overcoming and being recovered and yet wondering if shame is still attached has nothing to do with asking whether you are fully recovered or not.   It is a part of that journey.   Some may never want to discuss it after full recovery.  As they say, leave the past behind.  I believe that.  However, I also believe that there is a need for awareness, for others to know they are NOT alone.  That is my route.  And from speaking to this beautiful lady, I have a feeling she's not too far behind me.  I look forward to having her back on to discuss her book which is coming out soon!  (fun quip about writers.  Some of us when we say soon, it may be a couple of years.  Other's it may be one month.  I am speaking about myself. :)  )My beautiful guest did not hold back on saying just that.  It was horrible.  I have to say that personally, I agree.  And to that same point, we also agreed on how freeing it is to be recovered. New Release Kindle or Signed Copy! Bleep Bulimia Episode 50 with Dr. Foojan Zeine Psychotherapist, Radio/Podcast Host & International Speaker & Author
Dr. Foojan Zeine shares a very interesting perspective on Bulimia and her story of how she came to create the Awareness Integration program. We discuss parental control, the difference between Anorexia and Bulimia, and some essentials on moving towards recovery. We talked about triggers.  Many bulimics feel they have food triggers, however, they are almost always associated with situational triggers.  Dr. Foojan said transitional stages are difficult and can cause triggers.  To this she was speaking about teenagers, however, I explained the same comes with menopause, which is again body and hormonal changes.Dr. Foojan also spoke to the shame and depression that can come along with both bulimia and fingers that do not purge.Very interesting conversation, that I truly appreciate. You can reach out to Dr. Foojan at https://www.foojan.com.  More about Dr. Foojan Zeine:Dr. Foojan Zeine is a Psychotherapist, Radio/podcast host, International Speaker, and author.  She has her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist practicing online and in her office in Southern California.
