The Joyful ToolKit

Did you ever have an experience that you thought you would never get through: A divorce, the passing of a loved one, losing your home, a pandemic? The last one put me in a tailspin. I couldn't find my footing, or my connection to joy, no matter how hard I tried. I couldn't even get out of bed! Knowing, I didn't want to reside in this exhaustive place, I did what any one does who has storytelling as their vocation. I sought inspiration from stories. People were willing to have a conversation with me and talk about their hardships and how they came out on the other side. Thus, the Joyful Toolkit Podcast was born. In this podcast, I speak to people who share their experiences and how they created a relationship with joy. Are you ready to find your joy? Let's walk this path together.

The Joy in Your Creative Flow with Jennet Ingle
This episode was recorded on 3/26/2021. Fellow listeners welcome to episode 10 of The Joyful Toolkit! For this decimal episode, I present to you, Jennet Ingle. Jennet is a master of flow and creativity and always makes things happen with ease. She is Principal Oboist of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. Jennet is a soloist at heart, joyfully taking over any stage that will have her.   As the owner and operator of Jennet Ingle Reeds, she makes and sells over two hundred handmade reeds every month, and helps people with their own reed-making through her YouTube series, The Five Minute Reedmaker, her weekly online Reed Club, and her beginner course, Zero to Reedmaker. She has recently focused on building a community for adult oboists.  Her signature group program, the Invincible Oboist, demystifies instrumental skills and helps oboists to get past the struggle to find ease in their playing.  Her new book, The Happiest Musician, encourages musicians to take agency in their careers and not wait to be chosen. PS: Jennet has also been a crucial part of creating this podcast! Join us as we talk about: How she broke the mold of her industry and why she built her own company for other musicians. What her visibility journey was like and what led her to find her true calling. Why Jennet went against the “course she was given.” What joy means to her: flow. When she is in the zone, in flow, doing the right things, she perceives joy. The rubric she uses to coach students and herself. How taking one step at a time instead of trying to solve everything at once helps her when getting thrown out of her flow. The path to success doesn’t have to be so difficult. Creating Your Own Authentic Self with Jessica DeLugo
This episode was recorded on 2/18/2021. Hey there! Thank you for joining another episode of The Joyful Toolkit. In today’s episode, we are joined by someone who I truly believe showed up in my life by divine timing. She is a writer from a small town in Connecticut who loves to travel, converse, and spend time with family and friends. When she is not thinking about creative ideas or trying new vegan recipes, she can be found on her podcast entitled “Fearless Living”. Join us as we talk about: Navigating the corporate world and trying to find your own work that is more artistic or creative. Her view on prayer: Not in the way that it's connected to organized religion, but affirmation and how words are connected to ourselves, inner selves, and the divine. An inner look at Reiki: a Japanese practice of taking universal life energy and utilizing that energy. There are different rules and regulations, and the training is focused on whoever is trained, takes on new students and can put Reiki symbols into your energetic field. Reading Between the Lines with Bob Souer
This interview was recorded on 1/15/2021. Welcome back to The Joyful Toolkit. In today’s episode, I am joined by my dear friend Bob Souer. You can probably guess Bob is an audiobook narrator by listening to his voice. Bob started doing audiobooks in 2006. He was first cast to narrate the entire new King James version of The Bible. Up to that point he had expressed a modest amount of interest in doing audiobooks, but he had never actually narrated one. He jumped in quite literally to the end of the pool and then just kept swimming. Bob has now done +300 audiobooks. Join us as we discuss: Bob’s entire experience narrating the Old and New Testament (a rough 72 hours) and all of the key elements that helped him, including ISDN lines, a director, and an engineer. When he started doing audiobooks for independent authors and referrals. Why he finds so much joy in narrating non-fiction audiobooks. Humility and happiness: his definition of joy and why he feels it most fully when focusing on others. How leaning on faith, friends and family kept him anchored during a time of loss in his life.  Why adequate rest and hydration are crucial elements for his self-care. Creating Your Own Magic in Today's Society with Wynoami Glasser
This interview was recorded on 1/7/2021. I’ve known Wynoami Glasser for over nine years, and I am thrilled to have her on The Joyful Toolkit. I was introduced to Wynoami when I was going through a rough time; I reluctantly emailed her and the rest was ✨magical ✨ history. Wynoami is a singer/actor & an intuitive guide. The often used term for what she does is “life coach”; however, she feels that term doesn’t describe what she does, and the reason why will be discussed throughout the episode. Wynoami (among many things) helps women to expand their surroundings. She also helps them decondition themselves and follow their intuition, and place pleasure as their top priority. Join us as we discuss: What joy means to Wynoami, and why it is a spectrum of experience Why we should view the world as children and explore a world that is already ours. Her top 5 natural strengths What the pandemic meant to Wynoami and me. We speak about how it’s an opportunity to take inventory in our lives and what is meaningful in our lives and as a community.
