What does it mean to be joyful?  In our life, we find ourselves constantly traversing from elation to despair. On this winding road, we often strive to achieve our goals in order to attain a sense of contentment, only to find that after accomplishing this, the moment becomes fleeting. But what if there's another way to live your life?  A way where whatever adversity or stress comes your way, you still have the strength to keep going while appreciating both the ups and downs. We've been taught that we can attain happiness through acquiring riches, reaching our goals, and reducing any stress that comes our way. The topic of diversity and equality in the workplace today is highly relevant and very timely. Even though women make up about half the population, they are severely underrepresented in management, leadership, and entrepreneurial positions in the modern workforce.  This is so, even though women have so much value that they can bring to the table, whether it be their well-developed interpersonal skills, greater aptitude for empathy, or greater awareness of the needs of women and families.  Linda Fisk is at the front lines of advocating for more female presence in the business domain and is an ardent supporter of the brave women thriving in a traditionally male-dominated space.  Linda is the CEO and Founder of LeadHERship Global, a community of unstoppable women enhancing their leadership blueprint and embracing their power to be the best version of themselves - in both work and life. Are you a small business owner who utilizes online freelancers or is considering doing so? In this episode, we dive into the dos and don'ts, and best practices of hiring online professionals to help grow your business. Starting at a young age, Jaime Nacach equipped himself with digital skills by learning Web & Graphic Design, and through this, he has helped many small businesses. After numerous clients, he observed their need to lower their costs, so he set forth to start his own agency Bloominari which hires freelancers from abroad. However, having a negative experience with a few online freelancers, Jaime was driven to build a better solution for business owners. In this episode, Jaime and Steve cover many topics of interest to the online business owner and online freelancer. From the importance of adapting in the ever-changing digital world to becoming more efficient through automation while keeping the best mix of automation and the human element. In this episode, they sit down with host Steve Rodgers and take us through their personal journeys that converged in the creation of Verse. They discuss essential business skills such as raising capital, how to pitch a business to investors, and how to scale a company sustainably. This passion has driven him and Verse to become one of San Diego’s fastest-growing companies. After graduating with a degree in Economics from UCLA in 2003, David experienced firsthand how quickly the world had moved online and how consumer journeys increasingly began and lived online. He also saw how businesses were trying to engage and communicate with this new growing stream of online leads and prospects. So, David set out to help companies in real estate and other industries create the most effective and authentic connections with their prospects. And this goal has been successfully achieved by effectively merging the best abilities of AI (speed and productivity) and people (smarts and empathy). David has a beautiful, successful wife and three children.   Avi Tal Prior to launching Verse, Avi founded a WiFi media network in Latin America. He partnered with hotel chains to inject hyperlocal content catered to business travelers on hotel WiFi authentication pages. The product was quickly adopted and scaled to over 150,000 hotel rooms across Mexico. The business eventually merged with a venture capital-backed company. This was Avi’s first foray into the exciting world of Silicon Valley, where he learned about developing technologies, building teams, and raising venture capital. Seeing his brother David doing really well as a real estate broker, Avi became fascinated with the idea of how technology could help improve the lives of real estate professionals. So, the brothers launched their first business together in 2011, MyAgentFinder.com, which was eventually acquired. After witnessing firsthand how merging the best abilities of AI and people helped businesses create the most timely, effective, and authentic connections with their prospects, David and Avi went on to launch Verse in 2013. How soon should you monetize your idea or business? Some entrepreneurs and businesses want to quickly jump in on the selling part right away because that’s where the money comes in. After all, why are we in business if we’re not going to create profit from it? There are 2 essential elements, however, that you to know before you consider going to market and reaping the sales, which are to build strong foundations first for your business and to know its identity and story through brand. Some people tend to skip this part and it will only be a matter of time before they realize a lot of money and time has been wasted on ads or other quick selling activities. So for any business or entrepreneur that wants to make it big and maintain its longevity over time, some important questions to ask is what do you do and why do you do it? Build, Brand & Monetize is the motto of Brandetize and its co-founder, Eric Berman. Eric is a Brand & Marketing Expert. In this episode, he shares his 1st-hand experience & knowledge in building a business and marketing that will represent your values. In this episode of The Alchemy of Business, he and our host, Steve Rodgers, talk about their experiences and share tips on dealing with the challenges.
