Show cover of The Jerry Springer Podcast

The Jerry Springer Podcast

The Jerry Springer Podcast: Tales, Tunes and Tomfoolery is a weekly mix of comedy, liberal political talk and roots music performed by up and coming song writers and groups. Jerry is joined by Jene Galvin and Megan Hils as they compare their dissimilar lives, convo about events of the day and occasionally welcome a phone guest, some real and others you wonder. Like State Senator Tip Kemper, who recently proposed a literacy bill requiring citizens to read a book a month and submit a written report to the government at the post office. But in the middle of each episode, Jerry shows his serious side with a unique take on a current political or social issue drawing from his years as Cincinnati's mayor and top ranked news anchor. Performed before a small audience at the Folk School Coffee Parlor in Ludlow, Kentucky, The Jerry Springer Podcast is live streamed at jerrryspringer.com and Facebook Live and archived on the podcast's website and all major podcast apps. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Walker's Candidacy Is An Assault on Black Americans DignityWe’ve been doing this show for years now, right? I had my people go back through the archives and tally up the number of times the word Trump was spoken. Let’s go around the table and see who can guess the number. If you are a Facebook live viewer right now, put your guess in the comment section. We are now deep into the prime sports season with football and basketball overlapping. Our Cincinnati Bengals are now making their run again, Jerry and Jene’s grandsons are getting deep into their grade school basketball teams play and Xavier has now beat the University of Cincinnati four years in a row in basketball.Jerry, looking back on your youth, what is your best sports memory? Is it when you were tossed out of the gym as the grade school announcer at a basketball game? That’s a Jerry Springer classic moment. God Bless Joe BidenPresident Joseph Biden said this election is about saving democracy. It's about the very soul of America. Trust the American people to put that notion above partisanship. Americans have roundly rejected Donald Trump. He's causing Republican states to elect Democrats. Musical Guest for tonight’s show is Abe Partridge, an artist from Mobile, AL, and a return guest to the show. His song Abe Partridge's 403d Freakout is psychedelic bliss. His podcast, Alabama Astronaut, has recently come out and is getting great traffic and acclaim. Republicans Have No Moral CompassRepublicans will vote for any Republican regardless of moral character or competence. There are no lines they won't cross if what's at stake is the next election. Herschel Walker has no more business being a United States senator than a twelve year old in terms of ability and knowledge. Georgia's election shouldn't even be close. If you're a Republican, wouldn't this be a good way to clean up the party's leadership by telling them you can't take our vote for granted, you must give us quality candidates to vote for or we're staying home. Walker is Trump 2.0.Then we’ll ask Jerry about what he found when he returned home to Florida both at his home and in the community post hurricane. We play recordings of Jerry's folk duo from an old 45 record. Fans, help us locate Linda Pfafman of Linda and Jerry.Musical guest is the funk band Heavy Hitters.https://www.facebook.com/HeavyHittersband/ Hosted on Acast. Bad Jerry Springer Dad Jokes Are Back In Full Form!Jerry shows up to a party too early, and tries to get soon to be expected parents to name their children Jerry Springer. Bad dad jokes are back in full form!Jerry's commentary: This is 2022. Have we learned nothing? Are we to leave our children and grandchildren a legacy of, “What were we thinking?” “How backwards were we?” ‘How could we tolerate such ignorance and bigotry? So as to defile, America at its best is supposed to stand for?”  “Come on, Christian nationalism?” It is an insult to Christianity. It’s a defamation to America.Musical guest: Spooky Foxhttps://www.facebook.com/spookyfoxforever/ Hosted on Acast. On this week's show Jerry can't figure out how to turn the sound off on his Iphone.Jerry's commentary: Our institutions, indeed brilliant as they are drawn up, are no stronger than the character of the people who inhabit them. That’s why character matters. That’s why our democracy is in peril. That’s why the only remedy is we the people, we the voters; Voting as if democracy this November is on the ballot. It is!Jerry picks up tabs of two tables while we were out to dinner. He's not making it a habit if you see him at a restaurant. Jerry, what are you seeking atonement for during this year‘s Jewish holiday? His Rabbi makes him stay later for his extra misdeeds. Musical guest: Spooky Foxhttps://www.facebook.com/spookyfoxforever/ Hosted on Acast. What Would Jerry Do?A Faustian bargain never ends well. Selling one’s soul for an earthly prize. So it won’t end well for Republicans who have sold their soul. That is any sense of honesty, morality, the Big Lie, to the extreme right wing empowered by Trump for a momentary victory in the primaries. A younger generation, indeed a multicultural one at that, is not likely to sign on what used to be a respected political party and is now a personality worshipping loyalty demanding cult. The G.O.P. 1854-2022 Rest In Peace. The gang plays a game called what would Jerry do? Four hypothetical scenarios that may or may not have happened to Jerry in the past. We all answer and then at the end, find out What Would Jerry Do?Music guest: The always entertaining Casey Campbell...https://cincymusic.com/bands/casey-campbell Hosted on Acast. Donald Trump & His Allies Are A Clear & Present Danger To American DemocracyThis is a quote from former Federal Judge Mike Luttig testifying on the January 6th committee hearing about his own party. Luttig said the United States is at a crossroads similar to the one the country faced during the Civil War, and he said America needs help. Then we'll talk to Professor Wendy Strickler, Phd., who is a Forest Hills School District mom, Asst. Happy Solstice Everybody!Republican Laws Are a Win-Win For Everyone; Except WomenThe "arm our teachers" movement just got worse. Supposedly moderate Republican Ohio Gov.
