Navigating Neurodivergence with Stefan Glazer

Navigating a Neurotypical World with a Neurodivergent Mind. Talking to people about the pitfalls and triumphs of being neurodivergent in their careers, passions, and life. I'm Stefan Glazer, diagnosed with severe inattentive ADHD and GAD at 39. I grew up thinking I was lazy, didn't try hard enough, or even that I was "stupid". However, it was the diagnosis that was a turning point in my life and led me down a path of self re-discovery. I created tools that worked for me in my lifetime, refining them to work with my mind. https://linktr.ee/Stefan.Glazer Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/stefan-glazer/support

It was my honor to have Dr. Rita Louise on the podcast today. I was excited for a few reasons. I had originally listened to her on George Noory's Coast to Coast AM and seen her on Gaia TV! Takeaways Practicing mindfulness and breathwork can help cultivate inner peace and happiness. Neurodivergent individuals may face challenges such as dyslexia and dyscalculia, but these differences do not define their worth or abilities. It is important to create a supportive and inclusive environment for neurodivergent individuals, understanding and accepting their unique minds. Pronunciation challenges can be overcome by seeking assistance and finding alternative ways to communicate effectively. Object blindness is a phenomenon associated with ADHD, where individuals have difficulty perceiving or finding objects that are right in front of them. Neurodivergent individuals often develop their own coping skills and tend to be creative. Psychic abilities can be discovered and developed through practice and awareness. Everyone has intuitive moments, and paying attention to them can lead to positive outcomes. No one is alone in their struggles, and support is available. A little about Dr. Rita Louise: “Fran Dresher’s delivery without the whine”, is how one audience member put Dr. Rita Louise’s frank, funny yet honest approach. Dr. Rita Louise is the Founder of the Institute Of Applied Energetics and former host of Just Energy Radio. She is the author of the books The Dysfunctional Dance Of The Empath And Narcissist, Stepping Out Of Eden, ET Chronicles: What Myth And Legend Have To Say About Human Origin, Avoiding The Cosmic 2X4, Dark Angels: An Insider’s Guide To Ghosts, Spirits & Attached Entities and The Power Within: A Psychic Healing Primer as well as hundreds of articles that have been published worldwide. Dr. Rita has appeared on film, radio, television and has spoken at conferences around the world covering topics such as health and healing, relationships, ghosts, intuition, ancient mysteries and the paranormal. This episode was great, because talking to Shawn lead me to understand how a TBI can change your brain and lead you into a path of neurodivergence that might have always been there but you just didn't know. His story: " In 1998 I was a successful Electronic Engineer, running a training and publications department for the largest Cellular Engineering firm in the world. On the day of my biggest presentation to leaders of the cellular industry, my materials showed up at the meeting, but I didn't. I was subsequently found on the floor of my office in a pool of blood. When I came to in the hospital, I couldn't recall what happened, and most of my memories leading up to that day were completely gone. As I recovered and relearned how to walk, talk, and function, it became clear that I was a very different person than the engineer I was prior to that day. I had been very left-brain dominant and was now very right-brain dominant. I was very focused and driven; now, I was unfocused and spiritual. The story goes on from there." ----- Be sure to head to https://www.navigatingneurodivergence.org to get your Free Copy of “Condensed Tools for Navigating Neurodivergence”. Directly from Michelle: I have Dyscalculia a math-based Learning Disability, limited hand dexterity, and visual perception issues. I was diagnosed in Kindergarten and struggled socially and academically. People tried to limit what I could do because of it. I was told that I could not go to college, get my bachelor's degree, or have the job I wanted. I have been able to do all of these things with support and accommodations. And I want to add, it was amazing to see the spectrum of Dyscalculia and how she found her way through to help people. ----- Be sure to head to https://www.navigatingneurodivergence.org to get your Free Copy of “Condensed Tools for Navigating Neurodivergence”. Shane is a Certified Life Coach with a specialization in ADHD and Relationships. He knew all of his life that something was different about him. He struggled to fit into the social circles around him, and he always had a hard time living up to the expectations of those around him. As a manager, he found strength in bringing up those who worked for him. He dedicated himself to lifting people up and not just giving out orders. As a leader, he developed skills based on servant-based leadership, giving people the skills and resources that they needed to thrive, not just in the position that they were in but in their lives. This turned into a successful freelance project manager career that he continued through to 2016. In 2016, he had to retire from the corporate work environment after a long struggle with mental health issues and a nervous breakdown. This was when he was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia, ADHD, and Autism. Since then, he has dedicated his life to learning and understanding everything that there was to know about ADHD and neurodiversity and sharing that knowledge with the world. As an ADHD Life Coach for Creating Order From Chaos Consulting, he uses his previous leadership skills to help his clients understand their ADHD and find the tools and skills to manage it throughout their lives. He has helped hundreds of clients make their way through the chaos of their ADHD and find order on the other side. As an informative, motivational speaker, he now works with corporations, nonprofits, schools, and parents on ADHD. He works to help them learn how to develop the environments that youth and adults need to have in order to thrive while managing their ADHD. By working with these groups, he hopes to help end the stigma around ADHD and build up an awareness of not only the struggles that people with ADHD face but the resilience and strength that comes from these struggles and the gifts that having a mind that works differently can bring to a neurotypical world. https://www.mensadhdsupportgroup.org/ https://www.creatingorderfromchaos.com/ ----- Be sure to head to https://www.navigatingneurodivergence.org to get your Free Copy of “Condensed Tools for Navigating Neurodivergence”. In her own words: "As an introvert who spent more than 2 decades pretending to be extraverted in order to fit in & get on, I paid the price when I hit introvert burn-out. Frustrated that wherever I worked in the world, I saw the quiet ones overlooked and undervalued, I decided it was time to do something. I founded Flourishing Introverts to shift the bias that often hides in plain sight in business & education.I'm now 65 and this is my (rest of my) life's work. People don't realise that introverts are wired differently, so it is a neurodivergence (although who decided that extraverts are the neurotypical!)"
