Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 8 (“Love On The Dance Floor”), where Abby brings in Brandon to dance with Brooke and immediately turns the whole thing into one of the most awkward setups in early Dance Moms history! The idea is that Brooke and Brandon need chemistry for the group dance. But once Abby starts talking about their past “fling,” forces them on a date, and pushes them to act like there is some big romantic connection, everything gets uncomfortable FAST! Brooke is only 13, clearly not into it, and the entire storyline becomes less about the dance and more about whether Abby can force two kids to “connect” on camera.Joining the show is Diane Pent, Brandon’s mom. Together, they look back on the behind-the-scenes chaos of filming in Florida for this episode. From the Fun Spot date to the terrible group dance, the watermelon game at Abby’s house, and the first signs of the show getting bigger, this episode has all the classic early Dance Moms weirdness! We originally aired this episode back in 2022, but it's been re-edited specifically for YouTube!Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. Christi and Kelly recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 27 — “Abby vs. Kira… Again,” where Abby returns after mysteriously disappearing for a week, only to find out Kira has brought in someone else to work with Kalani. This time, it is Alexa — Kalani’s real teacher from Arizona — and Kira makes it clear she wants Kalani to shine in her home state with choreography that actually shows who she is as a dancer. That means Abby has to sit there while another teacher works with one of her strongest dancers, and the tension is impossible to ignore. But the drama does not stop with Kalani’s solo. The Candy Apples are back without Cathy, Jeanette is trying to prove Ava can beat Kalani again, and Abby pulls Kalani from the group dance before they go head-to-head in Phoenix. By the end, Kalani is in tears, Kira is ready to leave again, and Christi and Kelly are left watching another Dance Moms fight where the real issue seems bigger than the one happening on camera.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they’re revisiting Dance Moms season 1, episode 7 (“She’s A Fighter”), where Holly reaches one of her first major breaking points with Abby over Nia’s solo. The moment starts when Abby gives Nia an animal-print costume for “They Call Me Laquifa” and then asks if Holly has an afro wig... and that's where things start getting uncomfortable. Christi and Kelly look back on Holly’s reaction, the lunch conversation that followed, and why this was about much more than one costume piece. They also revisit the hallway confrontation after Nia performs, where Holly tells Abby that Nia is a dancer first — not an ethnicity first. Between the “let me pull one out of my purse” comment, Abby defending the routine as an “ethnic opportunity,” and Holly finally calling out how Nia was being portrayed, this becomes one of the earliest moments where Holly truly stands her ground. Christi and Kelly recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 26 ("Where in the World Is Abby Lee Miller?"), where Abby does something almost unheard of: she disappears for the entire week. After last episode’s blowup with Kira and Kalani, the team shows up wondering if Abby will actually come back. But instead of another screaming match, another pyramid meltdown, or another dramatic entrance, there is just… no Abby. Gianna runs rehearsal, the girls prepare their solos, and everyone tries to figure out whether Dance Moms can function without the person who usually controls the room. And somehow, it does. The girls compete, the team keeps moving, and the drama finds a new place to land. Kendall’s music release is supposed to be the big storyline of the week, but Nia’s music career keeps getting pulled into the spotlight too, leading to a messy fight between Jill and Holly over whose daughter is finally getting a moment. With Abby gone, the episode turns into a very different kind of chaos. The girls are still trying to win, the moms are still trying to protect their kids’ moments, and Christi and Kelly are left asking the obvious question: where the hell was Abby?Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. At last, Brian takes the hot seat at The Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion episode, and things get spicy!Christi and Kelly react to all the reunion drama as Jo-Ellen comes armed with receipts, Brian dodges question after question, and Rulla finally realizes in real time that there may be a lot more to the story than she knew. From the alleged girlfriend being tied to Brian’s business to the confusing marriage timeline, this reunion gets out of hand in a hurry!Christi and Kelly also break down how reunion shows really work — how they expose the cracks people try to hide all season, why the footage after filming ends is sometimes where the real drama lives, and how quickly one bad answer can make everything worse. Plus, they get into Liz leaving the show, Alicia’s financial confusion, the never-ending Rosie house debate, and why Love Island’s Casa Amor girls might be the Candy Apples of reality dating TV (seriously!).Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 6 (“Dying to Dance”), where the ALDC takes on one of its creepiest and most memorable early group dances: “Where Have All The Children Gone?”The routine was dark from the start: missing children, milk carton imagery, white costumes, a swing set, and choreography that left even the girls trying to figure out exactly what message they were supposed to be sending. Christi and Kelly look back on why the dance felt so heavy, how the moms reacted to the subject matter, and why the number still stands out as one of the most unforgettable group routines from the early seasons of Dance Moms. They also get into everything else happening around the episode: Christi’s 40th birthday Botox trip, the infamous birthday party gifts, Broadway Baby’s cameo, Christi getting emotional news about her grandmother, and Kelly’s blowup with Cathy after Brooke’s costume situation spirals right before she goes on stage. Episode 6 has a little bit of everything — creepy choreography, Cathy chaos, Botox, lobster, sickled feet, and one group dance the girls somehow pulled off beautifully. Christi and Kelly are back with another BTTB Reality Exposed, breaking down the Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion and why these “sit-down and talk it out” specials are NEVER as they appear. From where people sit on the couch to which cast members suddenly come in ready to fight, Christi and Kelly explain how producers set the stage for reunion chaos before anyone even says a word. The RHORI reunion brings them right back to their own Dance Moms experience, where seating mattered, cameras kept rolling, and every reaction could be turned into a storyline. In this reunion episode, they get into Rulla coming in guns blazing, the cast questioning why she was seated so close to Andy, Liz apologizing after public backlash, Rosie and Kelsey’s feud, and the cheating video drama STILL hanging over the show. Plus, Christi breaks down why Love Island producers might be some of the most diabolical in all of reality TV right now.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 5 (“When Stars Collide”), where the girls are getting ready for the ALDC showcase, a Broadway agent is coming to watch… and somehow, the moms end up being forced to perform too.Christi and Kelly look back on the absolute nightmare of learning a dance from Cathy, wearing those costumes on national television, and realizing they were about to be humiliated in front of their kids, the audience, and every person who would ever watch the episode later. Plus, the two revisit the fallout from Christi’s fight with Abby and Melissa from the previous episode. There are some apologies, but not before Abby tries to get Christi to sign an outrageous contract. Also covered in the episode is Mackenzie refusing to sing, Chloe getting called out over a hair tie on her birthday, and the early signs that Dance Moms was becoming much bigger than anyone originally thought! Christi and Kelly recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 24 — “West Coast Strikes Back,” where the ALDC’s rivalry with MDP starts feeling a lot less like friendly competition and a lot more like a real threat. This week, Abby is back in Los Angeles, MDP is at the same competition, and Erin Babbs knows exactly how to get under her skin. Between the “monster” routine, the American Girl doll made to look like Abby, and the backstage tension, Christi and Kelly watch as the West Coast rivalry turns into one of the few matchups that actually seems to rattle Abby. But the biggest drama is still happening inside the ALDC. After Mackenzie beats Maddie, Abby gives her the lead in the group dance — only to take it away and hand it right back to Maddie. Christi and Kelly break down how predictable the switch felt, why the dance suddenly looked like a Maddie solo with backup dancers, and why the moms were so frustrated that Melissa did not fight harder for Mackenzie. They also react to JoJo dancing a tribute solo for her grandmother, Kendall competing “Just an Illusion,” Jill’s truly terrible pep talk, Jess’s giant bow hat, Abby’s carpet-like outfit, and the now-iconic “my mom’s dead” moment.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. The Housewives cheating video was real after all, and Christi and Kelly have plenty to say about how the Real Housewives of Rhode Island finally handled it.This week on BTTB Reality Exposed, we review episode 12 of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island "The Ferry-Tale Is Over." The cast heads to Block Island, where Jo-Ellen is still being treated like the problem even though Brian is the one everyone should be talking about. Rulla has spent past few episodes questioning the cheating video, the date, and whether it could have been manipulated, but that all falls apart once Brian admits the video is realChristi and Kelly also react to the lobster dinner, where Rosie finally says what everyone else keeps dancing around: Jo-Ellen did not create this mess. Brian did. And just when it seems like the season is trying to wrap the cheating drama up, the post-filming update makes everything even messier, with Brian’s arrest, the tracker on Rulla’s car, and Rulla still seeming unsure about what comes next.Plus, Christi and Kelly break down the parts of the episode that felt the most produced, including the beach makeups, Billy’s proposal, and why Rosie might be exactly the kind of cast member reality TV producers love.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 4 (“Stealing the Show”), an episode that still feels heavy because it brings them right back to one of the first times the show stopped feeling fun.At the center of the episode is Paige. Kelly remembers watching the week unfold knowing her daughter was being pushed toward a solo she wasn’t prepared for, without the music she needed, while everyone else kept acting like the moms were just being dramatic. Christi was feeling it too, watching Chloe get handed new choreography while Maddie walked in with two solos and far more preparation. What aired as jealousy was, to them, really a slow-motion disaster they could see coming before the kids ever stepped on stage.Christi and Kelly also revisit the other chaos surrounding the week: Kathy refusing to ride the bus, Vivi getting stuck with the Bumblebee solo, Melissa working the front desk, Abby insisting the girls were ready, and the competition day tension that made everything feel worse. Christi and Kelly recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 23 — “Maddie vs. Mackenzie,” where Mackenzie FINALLY beats Maddie… and everyone’s reactions become the big story. Instead of letting Mackenzie have her moment, things get weird. Super weird. Melissa is emotional, Maddie is upset, and Abby turns the whole thing into a lesson about “losers.” These reactions tell you everything there is to know about the dynamic between Maddie, Mackenzie, Melissa, and Abby. For years, everyone was taught that Maddie winning made sense, Maddie getting the extra attention made sense, and Maddie being protected made sense. But the second Mackenzie wins, it becomes clear how hard it is for the room to celebrate her without making it about Maddie.Christi and Kelly also react to Nia calling out the lack of opportunities she gets, JoJo being humiliated over opportunities outside of Abby’s control, guest Travis Payne bringing in a completely different kind of energy, and a group routine that proves how strange this show could be when real performance-world choreography was dropped into a Dance Moms competition setting.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. The Rulla cheating rumors are taking over The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, and at this point, Christi and Kelly are watching the same way everyone else is: waiting for somebody to finally say what is really going on.Rosie keeps pushing the cheating video, Rulla keeps trying to make sense of it, and Rulla’s husband keeps giving answers that somehow make the whole thing feel even messier. First it was AI. Then it was about the date. But the more the story changes, the harder it is for Christi and Kelly to believe this is going away quietly. And because this is Rhode Island, the cheating rumors are not happening in a vacuum. Liz is acting off at parties, everyone seems to have a problem with Jo-Ellen, the husbands are somehow getting more screen time, and every scene feels like it is building toward the one conversation nobody wants to have. By the end, Christi and Kelly are not just asking what happened with the video — they are asking who is hiding what before the finale.Plus, Christi tries to get Kelly to watch Love Island after one of the most unhinged reality TV openings she has ever seen.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. Christi and Kelly recap and react to Dance Moms season 5, episode 22 — “Live From LA, It's Kendall K.”Kendall's big music video premiere has finally arrived, giving Jill the moment she had been chasing all season. Christi and Kelly revisit the event at Universal Studios, the pressure surrounding Kendall's debut, and the constant comparisons being made between Kendall and Nia's music careers. Looking back, both agree the girls were never really rivals, even if the show desperately wanted them to be.Meanwhile, Abby seems completely checked out. She skips the competition, leaves the team without important props and costumes, and continues taking shots at Nia by casting her as the "traitor" in the group's routine. Christi and Kelly discuss why they believe Abby was unfairly blaming Nia for decisions made by adults, and relive one of the funniest moments of the entire season: the infamous purse dump that exposed the absolute chaos hiding inside Abby Lee Miller's handbag.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. Christi and Kelly recap and react to Dance Moms season 5, episode 21 — “Dance Moms Down Under, Part 2.”The Australia trip continues, but this episode feels different from a normal competition week. There is no usual pyramid-to-competition rhythm, and Christi and Kelly both point out that the whole thing feels a little off. Instead, the episode follows the team through Australia as Abby plans a Mad Max-inspired showcase routine for Maddie, Mackenzie, Kendall, and Kalani — while Nia and JoJo are once again left out of the main ALDC plan. That divide becomes the center of the episode. Christi and Kelly react to Nia getting her own performance in Melbourne, Mikey flying in to work with her, and how different the energy feels when Nia is being built up instead of torn down. They also break down the fallout from the Ireland video mocking JoJo, the moms defending the girls’ apology, and JoJo admitting that even if you forgive something, you do not just forget it.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. Episode 9 of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island ("Questionable Behavior") has Christi and Kelly asking the only question that really matters with this show: what are we actually watching here? After Rosie and Kelsey’s blowup, the show tries to move forward, but Christi and Kelly still feel like the show drama feels less real and more like production handing people props, lines, and reasons to fight. The Miss Slam Pig sash, the pizza pitch, the trivia night chaos, the yacht trip, the car argument, the dramatic family backstory — all of it has them wondering where the real relationships end, and the manufactured Housewives machine begins. They also react to some local Rhode Island tea from a listener on Patreon, who lives in the state and might not know some behind-the-scenes details. Christi and Kelly recap and react to Dance Moms season 5, episode 20 — “Dance Moms Down Under, Part 1.”The show heads overseas to Australia... but without Abby, who gets left behind after losing her passport. Of course, that doesn't stop her from controlling everything from thousands of miles away on the phone. She yells at Melissa over the phone, questions whether the whole team was even invited to perform, and says Maddie can just dance by herself if she is not there. This is where the Australia episode starts to expose everything. Nia and JoJo are treated like they were never really part of the plan, the moms clash over who is tied to Abby’s Australia events, and the viral Ireland video mocking JoJo brings even more tension into the trip. Then Maddie misses rehearsal for an interview while the other girls keep working as her backup dancers, only for the episode to later handle her mistake onstage completely differently than it would have handled anyone else’s.For Christi and Kelly, this trip is not just about a lost passport or one chaotic performance. It is about the different rules, the selective protection, and the favoritism that creeps up episode after episode. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 8 of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island finally gave people the fight they knew was coming: Rosie and Kelsey ended up face-to-face, scraming over each other, and throwing out insults left and right.But... how much of this "fight" was real? Christi and Kelly have some theories on whether it was actually spontaneous or maybe, just maybe, production helped set the whole thing up and the girls were in on it. They also react to Alicia being pushed to bring up Rula’s husband drama on camera, what “slam pig” actually means (it's worse than we thought), and all the little production fingerprints they caught in episode 8!Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. It’s a Dance Moms reunion episode, which means nobody is walking in relaxed and nobody is leaving unscathed. Holly gets sent out first, and that alone tells you what kind of episode this is going to be. Christi and Kelly break down the tension around Nia, the way Abby turns adult conflicts into kid punishment, and the strange reunion logic where everyone knows what is really happening, but no one is allowed to say it directly! They also pull back the curtain on what these reunion days were actually like: the tiny stages, the empty rooms during dances, the assigned seating, the awkward fashion choices, and the weird pressure of being marched out one by one like you’re being called to the principal’s office. This recap gets into the parts of the episode that were messy on camera and even stranger behind the scenes!Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR here: x1entertainment.com/bttb See you in 2026!!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments! 🎥✨Join us as we relive the wild drama of pyramid days, outrageous competitions, and unforgettable moments that made Dance Moms a pop culture phenomenon. Come see us live!! www.x1entertainment.com/bttb"I feel like we're consistent in the mocking of Jill." Christi might be talking about her outfits, but "Showdown in Pittsburgh, Part 2" doesn't do Jill any favors when it comes to giving her plenty of mockable moments as well. I mean is it already week three of Jill trying to convince Holly she should be grateful for what Abby does for Nia? Like WHILE Abby is actively trying to sabotage Nia at every conceivable turn? Yeah it's not one of Jill's better looks for sure.In a rare feat for Dance Moms there's no Pyramid this week because for some reason (we still can't quite figure out why) Production decided to split this week into a two parter (for real we had less notes for this episode than we often do when we only cover half an episode, it's weird). But there's still plenty of drama abound as most of the ALDC moms show up to their last local competition sans daughters... and you kind of need them present to compete or the group can't perform! Outside of Nia and JoJo all the girls are still at JUMP, which Abby and the moms feel is very important for their careers unlike the hit TV show they're supposed to be filming. Abby assigns Nia and JoJo solos in case the rest of the team in a no show when it's their turn to perform. Nia will preform Never Knew once more and JoJo is instructed to freestyle on-stage (which we highly doubt as JoJo upstaging Nia would be to tempting for Abby to leave to chance). The Candy Apples and Broadway Dance Academy soon crash the party to stir up the pot. Of course Jill doesn't take kindly to Cathy's interventions, but Cathy makes some great points about how Abbys been treating Nia, which Holly confirms. Jill doesn't like Holly picking sides with her enemy and starts beating the "You need to respect what Abby does for you" drum once again, but Holly points out Nia only gets chances when no one else is there to preoccupy Abby's attention. Tensions continue to simmer as the competition gets underway, but will the rest of the ALDC show up in time to snatch victory for the Candy Apples and quell a potential Abby blow-up? Or is a blow-up inevitable if Jill and Cathy are in the same room together for longer that two minutes?Quotes“I thought about Abby saying this video is supposed to represent Nia's life and this is not Nia... is Kendall in the army? Did I miss that part of her life?" (25:19-25:33 | Christi)"I kinda love that. Whoever did that in production, how diabolical of you." (28:19-28:23 | Christi)“Thank God Abby wasn't invited [to Brooke's wedding]. Thank god, she would have been yelling at Josh, 'GET YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM YOUR CROTCH!' during the middle of the ceremony.'" (37:21-37:29 | Kelly & Christi)“You should talk about those crows feet. How about those jowls that jiggle every time you open your mouth? And then Abby says don't talk about my boobs? And she calls me a dingbat? I at least know what jowls are!" Come see us live!! www.x1entertainment.com/bttb"The funniest thing was we were in hell, but you guys had your own version of hell going on," Christi reflects to our very receptive panel of guests. This week we welcome to the Barre our favorite Dance Mom Producers: Annie, Erin and Chris! If it's Dance Moms goss you're looking for, there's no better place to start than right here. No ones made it through the Dance Moms grinder in quite the same way, they've all got stories to tell and boy do they have a lot to say when we get them all together.A fun twist now that so much time has passed is all of our guests have become parents themselves. So we want to know, how differently does it make them think about their time on the show? Do some moments seem a bit more cagey in hindsight? Would they have approached the work any differently? Speaking of work what was it like to actually work with Abby on a day to day basis? Was she really that difficult to work with (probably) and if so what's their craziest Abby story?Plus of course we had to ask them all about what it was like to produce some of the craziest s**t ever put on television. Chris was there during the walk to prison! He did the walk too but had to lug around equipment! There's just no end to the amount of stories they have to share. They've all gone on to have fairly broad careers in both reality TV and elsewhere, but Dance Moms will always be their mark on the culture, the thing they'll be asked about for the rest of their lives. So we'll just have to keep asking!Quotes“[Kira] was tough. She was basically not producible." (19:08-19:11 | Chris)"Did any of you ask Abby after the fight like why was she trying to bite Kelly?" (41:54-41:59 | Christi)“Such good war stories this show. I feel like some of my best memories are from the show." (47:14-47:18 | Erin)“You had a Candy Apples soft spot cause you were there. Yeah I was there a lot in Canton. Well I was there too with you and I didn't have a soft spot." Step inside one of the most chaotic and revealing episodes of Dance Moms as Back to the Barre breaks down “Showdown in Pittsburgh Part 1” with unfiltered commentary, behind-the-scenes tea, and the kind of brutally honest humor only Christi and Kelly can deliver. In this episode, Christi Lukasiak and Kelly Hyland recap the drama-packed return to Pittsburgh, where tensions between the moms are at an all-time high, rival teams are circling, and loyalties are put to the test. From the moment the episode begins, it’s clear this is more than just another competition week—it’s a collision of personal ambition, jealousy, and the complicated reality of life both on and off camera.A major storyline centers around Nia Sioux’s long-awaited music video premiere, a milestone moment that should be celebrated—but instead becomes a lightning rod for conflict. Christi and Kelly unpack the uncomfortable dynamics as some moms struggle to show support, raising bigger questions about favoritism, competition, and what it really means to be part of a “team.” Was it about scheduling conflicts, or something deeper? The hosts don’t hold back as they analyze every reaction, side-eye, and awkward moment. The episode also dives into the ongoing rivalry with Cathy Nesbitt-Stein and the Candy Apples, along with Jeanette and Ava’s return, creating a triple-threat competition environment. With multiple teams rehearsing in the same space, tensions escalate quickly, and Christi and Kelly reveal what was really happening behind the scenes—including producer influence, staged moments, and what didn’t make it to air.Beyond the drama, this recap explores deeper themes that fans of Dance Moms still debate today: the pressure placed on young dancers, the blurred lines between opportunity and exploitation, and how reality TV editing shapes public perception. Christi and Kelly reflect on how production decisions impacted storylines, why certain narratives were pushed, and how the girls were affected in the process. There’s also plenty of classic Back to the Barre humor—inside jokes, wild tangents, and laugh-out-loud commentary on everything from questionable fashion choices to unforgettable one-liners. Whether they’re calling out Abby Lee Miller’s contradictions, revisiting iconic moments, or sharing personal memories from filming, Christi and Kelly bring a mix of nostalgia and new insight that longtime fans won’t want to miss.If you’re searching for a Dance Moms podcast recap, behind-the-scenes secrets, or a deeper look at what really happened during one of the show’s most dramatic eras, this episode delivers. Perfect for fans of reality TV breakdowns, pop culture commentary, and unfiltered storytelling, this is your front-row seat to the chaos, the comedy, and the truth behind the pyramid.Tune in to hear: • The real story behind Nia’s music video premiere • Why the moms’ reactions sparked controversy • Behind-the-scenes details about rival teams and production • Christi and Kelly’s honest take on favoritism and team dynamics • The moments that didn’t make it to TVWhether you’re a longtime fan of Dance Moms or discovering it all over again, this episode of Back to the Barre is packed with insight, humor, and the kind of honesty that keeps audiences coming back for more. THE TEA ☕We're back, we went to Washington D.C., and we finally figured out what a selfie stick says about your influencer era. (Spoiler: Kelly is thriving.)WHAT WENT DOWNFirst things first — Kelly got a Pro Max and we need to talk about it. The home button is gone, the cameras are fancier, and somewhere out there, Abby's iPod Nano is still buried under McDonald's wrappers in the back of a car. From there, we took a trip to Capitol Hill because we were invited to the Support is Care Summit — a nonpartisan advocacy effort focused on making sure cancer patients get whole person support, not just medical treatment. Financial help, childcare, caregiver resources, acupuncture — the stuff nobody tells you about when you're in the thick of it. Kelly got real about how her emotional support has actually been harder after treatment than during it, and hearing other people say the same thing out loud was a moment. If you or someone you love has been touched by cancer, please look up Support is Care. Also: Christi does not like acupuncture. She doesn't like foreign things in her body. We explored the full philosophical implications of this, given certain choices she has made. Moving on.Then we learned two Gen Z words from Clara and her friends on the way to a Florence and the Machine concert. You're welcome in advance. Chud (rude, ugly, unintelligent — basically, don't be one) and fit-mogging (when someone's outfit is so good it upstages yours). We are educating the masses. And THEN — we watched Vanderpump Villa, and we are here to expose it. Not recap it. Expose it. These people did not arrange those flowers. There is an entire production team. Nobody is casting someone hot enough to sleep with the guests AND talented enough to build a centerpiece, and we know this because WE LIVED IT. The cheese plates at Kelly's house? Producers. The stakes ($50K this season, $30K last) exist to make you care — same reason every Dance Moms episode had a pyramid. We see you, producers. We respect it.Stassi is there to drive the story because she has nothing to lose and knows exactly what she's doing — Lisa does the same thing but in an English accent and with more plausible deniability. Dad Talk does not need to be there. Jordan needs to kiss Marciano on the mouth for giving him a storyline. Hannah had a lot going on with that lip gloss. Somebody was always spying on somebody, and the cameras were already set up. Ekansu literally walked away from a fight and said they got what they wanted — girl, SAME. Also Stassi's sister Georgie showed up to announce she's moving to L.A. during the Dad Talk episode. Call us in six months when the spinoff trailer drops. Hosted on Acast. Come see us live!! www.x1entertainment.com/bttbTell us YOUR Dance Moms watch traditions here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/154503107/Leave us a message: www.speakpipe.com/backtothebarre"This one is a doozy. We just need to get into it and I’m just telling everyone right now, if you’re drinking for contradictions you are going to be schmamered." And it's not just Abby fueling the contradictions this week as all the moms try and get in on the action. It really is a case of "Oops! All Contradictions".What better way to start a contradiction heavy episode than with something that feels just as jarring, forgoing Pyramid until later in the episode! In "Video Killed the ALDC Star" we open with Abby overseeing Kendall's music video shoot. Much is made about how Nia has been excluded from the shoot and that Holly and Nia "have made their beds and now must sleep in them" which you'll quickly tire of hearing by at least the third time it's mentioned. But Nia shrugs off Abby's words when confronted directly, rightfully understanding it's more of an Abby problem than a Nia problem.Nia's music video shoot by comparison goes over terrifically well, but the moms find a way to make an issue out of it anyways. First it's over the fact Holly waas posting too much about it... which yeah her daughter is shooting a music video wouldn't you be proud? Jill claims Holly is just trying to rub it in their faces... like no really what is this? That's clearly not what's happening but I guess the moms really just are that competitive at all times. But things get worse when Aubrey O'Day jazzes Nia on socials by claiming they're making the best ALDC member music video to date, then the moms start to get truly apocalyptic with Holly. Jill claims Aubrey's post is a direct insult towards Kendall and demands Holly apologize. Except the moms never would expect the same of Abby whose more outwardly hostile than Aubrey and directly insulted Nia before the shoot and continues to do so after! What's equally funny is the moms claim to be angry they weren't invited to Nia's shoot despite the fact Abby deliberately orchestrated it so they couldn't. Even if that wasn't the case, THEY WERE ACTUALLY INVITED! The moms turn down Holly's offer to, get this, get matching tattoos?!?!?! Did we know Melissa and Jill had matching tattoos? This is news to us! Do they still have them? We demand answers! Will all this bickering over music videos lead to a weaker than average showing at competition? Well was it a good idea to give a solo to Kendall when she also had to shoot a music video the same week?Quotes“I was trying to explain to someone that every episode of Dance Moms is exactly the same. So we can’t remember what they’re fighting about because they’re all the same! -christi" (05:52-06:01 | Christi)"Abby is physically incapable of [showing support for Nia], because she is Ursula. She steals talent from children. She cannot celebrate a child unless it benefits her." (39:48-40:03 | Christi)“Now [Abby] is once again this episode, creaming her jeans. I believe for the third time. It’s a very jean cream heavy episode. Ugh. Jill creamed her jeans… I think Holly might have even creamed her jeans during Nia’s video. Oh god. Holly creamed her jeans. Holy s**t! We had a Holly jean cream moment. Never in my life did I think I’d say those words." (1:13:49-1:14:16 | Christi & Kelly)“There’s no walls here yet. So we have a trophy but we don’t have a wall. I’m thinking you could have left those at your hotel room for a couple weeks."
