Tom was at the end of his rope, ready to take his life, then the Holy Spirit showed up in a powerful way. This week’s podcast is quite possibly the most powerful interview I have done! You are going to be filled with hope and you will never forget this conversation. Pastor Tom Akins is from Statesboro, Georgia and now lives in Wrightsville, Georgia He is the pastor at Oaky Grove Church and runs a huge business at Akins Farm. He studied Business at Georgia Southern University Also studied Andersonville Theological Seminary and Grace Valley Theological Seminary. Tom was down on his knees on a Wednesday night after church with a gun held to his temple, in complete despair and hopelessness. His finger slipped off the trigger while he was trying to pull it, and all of a sudden he broke, he cried out to God, “God if you don’t do something in the next 60 seconds I am going to pull the trigger and come be with you.” Needless to say, Tom was at the end of his rope. It was the end of his marriage as he had known it, but at the beginning of a new season! Tom said being a pastor you’re not allowed to divorce, even though it was not his fault, so how could he go on? Do you want to know what to do when you are at the end of your rope? Maybe you’re at the end of your marriage, or the end of your God given dream, or you feel there is no hope for your future or maybe …….it’s for a specific promise God made to you! Whatever it may be, God has something for you in this podcast! You have landed on the right page today. You are going to hear all the powerful things that God did for Pastor Tom while trying to take his life! Tom found himself surrendering to the power of the Holy Spirit and giving all his brokenness to Jesus. A baptist, broken, suicidal preacher fell under the power of the Holy Spirit while the pistol was still held to his temple! You don’t want to miss not even one detail of this powerful story of redemption! Be sure you listen to the very end to hear the powerful prayer Pastor Tom Akins prays! Dana tells her whole story for the very first time! No one had ever known about the abuse, rape, and pain she had suffered. I met Dana through FaceBook. I had sent out a video of my story and she was moved by my testimony of what all Jesus had done in my life despite the abuse. Then I mailed Dana my book and told her to read the details and the Lord would start the journey of healing. So, she did. She kept in touch with me and I linked her to a good friend of mine who is a christian counselor. On top of counseling, she also does a weekend Selah Retreat that One Voice had sponsored for one of Dana’s children. Eventually, Dana went to the Selah Retreat and the Lord opened wounds and closed them and He redeemed Dana and gave her back freedom in the spirit and soul. Dana tells her whole story for the very first time! No one had ever known about the abuse, rape, and pain she had suffered. You will be encouraged to hear Dana tell her story of how God put people in her life to lead her up to where she is now. God has a way of turning your mourning into dancing, your sorrow into joy! He has a way of making beauty from ashes! Listen to her full story! You will be moved with compassion! As you listen, see carefully the people that God put in her life to bring health to her soul!

In this episode, I am diving deep into the powerful passages of Isaiah 40:25-31 and Isaiah 41. We explore God’s challenge to His people: “Who holds a candle to me?” The Creator, who brings forth the stars each night, never grows tired or overlooks His creation. Isaiah reminds us that God is everlasting, giving strength to the weary and empowering those who seek Him. I am unpacking the idea of “the hand of the Lord,” a recurring theme throughout Isaiah, symbolizing God’s direct involvement in history. From judgment to deliverance, creation to restoration, God’s hand represents His sovereignty and power. Key themes include: 1. Judgment and Sovereignty – God orchestrates events and holds ultimate authority over nations. 2. Deliverance and Redemption – His hand is never too short to save those who turn to Him. 3. Creation and Providence – God’s hand crafted all that exists, affirming His control over the universe. 4. Acknowledgment of God’s Work – We’re invited to recognize that life’s events, big or small, are shaped by His divine plan. This episode calls us to place our trust in God’s capable hands, confident that He’s working in our lives through both blessings and challenges. Join us for a deep reflection on Isaiah’s timeless message of hope and strength.

Title: “From Atheist to Believer: A Near-Death Encounter with Jesus” In this powerful and moving episode of One Voice Makes a Difference, Janet welcomes 22-year-old Peyton Brown, whose life took a miraculous turn after a near-death experience that shook her atheistic beliefs to the core. Raised in a Catholic family but far removed from faith, Peyton had embraced atheism, rejecting any notion of God—until a terrifying health crisis forced her to confront the truth of Jesus Christ. One evening, under a starry sky, Peyton experienced a sudden seizure that led to a medical emergency. A fatal mistake in treatment caused her heart to stop, leaving her clinically dead. In those surreal moments, Peyton found herself watching her own body from the outside, witnessing her parents' heartbreak, and standing face-to-face with Jesus Himself. Through vivid and heartfelt detail, Peyton describes the overwhelming love and compassion in Jesus' eyes and the profound peace she felt in His presence. This extraordinary encounter brought her back to life, not just physically but spiritually, as she realized the power and truth of a God she had once denied. Now, Peyton is on a mission to expose the dark spiritual forces that plagued her for years, and she’s writing a book, EXPOSED, to share her story and offer TRUTH to others battling doubt, identity crises, and unseen spiritual struggles. Join us for this awe-inspiring conversation as Peyton shares her journey from skeptic to believer, a transformation that will challenge your own understanding of faith, purpose, and the lengths God will go to reach His children. Prepare to be moved, inspired, and filled with hope and wonder as you listen to this incredible testimony of life, death, and act of God.

Janet shares with you some things she has learned throughout the years about how to combat negative thoughts that brought healing to her heart. Hey you guys. I am going to share with you some things I have learned throughout the years, but... also... something that I just read that the HOLY SPIRIT BROUGHT LIGHT AND REVELATION! I THINK MYSELF HAPPY!!! Acts 26:1-3 New King James Version Paul’s Early Life 1 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You are permitted to speak for yourself.” So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself: 2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, 3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which have to do with the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently. I gave a short a synopsis of Acts 25-27 Everywhere Paul went resulted in conflict, opposition, resistance, but because Paul made a habit of THINKING HIMSELF HAPPY….it changed the course of negativity to something positively powerful. Miracles followed him everywhere he went. Now…I told that story in the Bible because…..Paul stated to the person who was throwing him in prison that he was a blessed man to stand before him. He was fortunate and blessed…..because of how he restructured his thoughts. I want to spend a little time on this because anxiety heightened to extreme levels to where now suicide is at an all time high. The Bible says we need to “renew our minds” Romans 12:2 We demolish arguments, pretensions, assumptions and take captive every thought! 2 Corinthians 10:5 THE BIBLE HAS A LOT TO SAY ABOUT OUR THOUGHTS! Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Matthew 12:34-40 New King James Version (NKJV) For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. So…let’s take a look at ANXIETY THAT has controlled us for far too long IN OUR THOUGHTS! Anxiety is rooted in fear. Fear has 3 components: Insecurity Helplessness Isolation Anxiety can be found in all three of these ways: Spiritual Mental Physical You are a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. When your spirit collides with the Holy Spirit….now you have what is called FAITH! Now…your spirit (faith) in convincing your soul to BELIEVE that you are who God says you are, you can have what God says you can have, and you can do what God says you can do! As a born again believer, Christian…you are not obligated to give and give and give until there is nothing left. This is man’s way of thinking that if I give then God will be pleased with me. God did not say give and give and give until you are completely drained. The lie is: I have to give until I am completely drained and this is the way of the Christian life and this is what it means to lay my life down for Jesus. The Truth is: I am obligated to do the will of God. Period. Nothing less and nothing more. God does not drain me, but He fills me up! To do His perfect will results in laying my life, my will, down for what He wants! You FIGHT, AND COMBAT THE LIES BY PUSHING BACK WITH THE TRUTH! TODAY I AM BELIEVING THAT STRONGHOLDS OF NEGATIVITY, ANXIETY, FEAR AND INSECURITY WILL BE PULLED DOWN, AND BROKEN OFF YOUR LIFE! I WANT YOU GUYS TO KNOW THE BATTLE IS NOT IN YOUR HEART…IT’S IN YOUR MIND. Paul didn’t say, “I feel myself happy” He said, “I THINK myself happy” even when he was faced with death. Even when Jesus was faced with death in Hebrews 12:2 tells us very clearly: “… who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This verse says Jesus focused on “the joy” that was set before Him as He endured the Cross. His thoughts were SET ON YOU AND ME that caused Him to endure the cross. So, remember, your feelings will deceive you, and it will infiltrate in and through your work, your finances, your relationships and the promises that God has for you. Your mental health is not built in your heart and your feelings. It is built on your thoughts. Listen to all this week’s podcast on how to combat negative thoughts!

Janet’s gives a Word of Encouragement from John 16:33 and I Peter 5:1-10 Hey you guys! The Lord as put this word in my heart just for you. I don’t know why, but maybe you’ve been asking the question, “why am I suffering so bad? How long do I have to suffer?” Maybe you’ve been telling yourself this, “I’m doing the will of God, I’m a good person, I pay my tithe, I go to church every Sunday, I’m reading my Bible But…GOD…. I’m still suffering Why? LET’S DIVE IN TO John 16:33 & I PETER 5:1-10 THIS IS OUR FOCUS FOR TODAY! 1 Peter 5:1-10 New American Standard Bible 10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. Greek perfect/restore 2675/katartizō (literally "adjust down, exactly") refers to parts working precisely together – fulfilling their intended purpose (potential)" because properly adapted (adjusted). [The root word expresses what is "joined together" in proper adjustment. It means to frame all the parts into an over-all design – so that each part works together "in good order”. 2675 (katartizō) (perfect or restore) is "used of reconciling factions, setting broken bones, putting a dislocated limb into place, mending nets" For example when you have a dislocated shoulder, you go to the ER and the doctor will pop it back in place. It’s painful when it’s out of place, and it’s more painful to pop it back in place. The bone is now set in its proper place so that it can heal. What Paul was saying, after you have suffered a little while, the Lord will adjust you, move you around, put you back in your proper place so that you can function and be in good working order to fulfill the plans that He has written over you life. Greek confirm stērízō: ”a support to fix, plant down";"stand," to set fast or fix you; give you support which secures (firmly establishes); solidly plant (to eliminate vacillation). He will cause you to be rooted, fixed, planted, and make you stable. Strengthen in Greek: , make strong to make mobile, i.e. able to move in a way that achieves something effective. (sthenoō) only occurs in 1 Pet 5:10 of "refusing to be turned away (overpowered).” Established is to be grounded on a solid foundation In this verse, Peter is making closing remarks to churches in Asia Minor. He affirms that the suffering won't last forever, and that God has plans for people in Christ that are eternal and glorious

Have you ever asked this question? Why? Why can’t I overcome this anxiety, depression, these constant thoughts of hurting myself? Why am I willing to risk and even forsake my family for drugs? Why can’t I stop overeating, stop watching porn, stop gossiping? Why do I hate certain people? Why can’t I forgive? Why am I holding on to so much resentment, bitterness, and envy? Why am I jealous of the success of others? Why is my desire to be rich, powerful, and successful stronger than my desire to be a godly husband and father? Ron found a porn magazine in his neighbor's garbage at 4. He started sniffing gas at 5 and fighting in the 3rd grade. A great-uncle molested him at around 9 or 10. He started stealing candy and selling it at school at 12. He started selling drugs at 14. WHY AND HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? After all he was a pastor’s kid, raised by good parents, raised being taught the Word of God, had multiple powerful encounters with the Holy Spirit as a child and as a teenager. But he was broken, and the enemy exploited the pain, the hurt, the trauma, and the abuse and created an egotistical, self-centered tyrant, which made me successful in the World but worthless in the Kingdom of God. He was booted out of the Army for fighting and went to work, earning over 100k a year as an industrial radiographer. He opened a business at 28 and was a multi-millionaire within a year. He lost the company due to his drug addiction. He went to work in the car business, moved up fast, and within 18 months, He was averaging over 30k a month. He lost that job due to his drug addiction. He committed bank fraud, got caught, and spent 26 months in Federal Prison. Janet shares how to hear the precious Voice of God!! Hey Guys!! This week’s podcast is so yummy!! It’s like honey to my lips! To know God’s sweet voice and to hear Him is PRICELESS!! Did you know that God is speaking? Did you know that God is speaking to YOU? Yes!! Let’s dive in. Here are the words in Hebrew that I spoke about in the podcast. Words in Hebrew Mind…….Yetzer…………..to imagine, the image of, mind IN the heart Word……Dabar………….. the reality of, the reality being experienced, Read……Qara……………. to encounter, to read is to encounter the author Think……HHASHAV ………to design, to invent, to seal upon our hearts the intentions of our lives. Isaiah 30:21 And your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn (choose the right) to the right or to the left (or make a left) Let’s break this down! Your EARS Hebrew for ears is: ̓ōzen – ear, hearing; (figuratively) "the instrument by which speech and orders are noted – not the brain, as with us. Hence, the ear is the seat of insight" The mastoid bone is the large bone behind your ear that is highly sensitive to hearing. It has a honeycomb-like structure with air spaces called mastoid cells that help maintain the middle ear's air space. Psalms 119:101-104 101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Thy word. (Dabar) 102 I have not turned aside from Thine ordinances, For Thou Thyself hast taught me. (Taught in Hebrew is yarâ – means, throw, shoot, hit the target "spot on”; by transmitting information "right on-target"; one who effectively teaches. Straight to the EAR….He who has an ear HEAR what the Lord says! 103 How sweet are Thy words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Word in Hebrew here is not Dabar but something different; it’s ’imrah – a spoken word, particularly a "personal promise" (as in Psalms and Proverbs,) – a dynamic word from God birthed in the heart (mind) of the surrendered believer. This brings strength where there is weakness, comfort in distress, deliverance when no human help suffices, etc. 104 From Thy precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. (Precepts in Hebrew is: piqqûd̠îm (always plural, only occurs in Psalms) – precepts, focusing on the controlling principle ("why") that directs the "what" (the content of a law, direction, decision, etc.). Understanding in Hebrew is: ) bîn – nmeans to distinguish between " look a likes" – to discern the inner make-up of something to accurately discriminate; get to the inner reality (root) of a matter, like differentiating the genuine from the counterfeit; distinguishing between pretenders (phonies) which act as substitutes for the real thing – perceiving when something "looks good but smells bad"; "discriminating intelligence," separating the true and the false ("distinguishing things that differ"); discernment focused at its end life-application. Ears will HEAR Hear in Hebrew is šāmaʽ – properly, to hear, especially to obey (implement) what is heard – i.e. hearing with follow-up. (šāma‛) implies taking heed and acting on what is heard – i.e. conscientiously responding to audible or inner hearing (like when receiving faith from God). Reflection: Inner spiritual hearing discerns God's persuasions – hearing His voice through Scripture and communing with Him. Receiving faith from God always requires response – a faith-work done through His power and hence brings righteousness (the approval of God). A Response is: Hab 2:1, "And will watch to see what He will say in me" (not "to me"). Keil-Delitzch (at Hab 2:1), Mt 11:15: "He who has ears to hear, let him hear (LISTEN) Mt 13:10-15: “10 And the disciples came and said to Him, 'Why do You speak to them in parables?' 11Jesus answered them, 'To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. 12 For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while [physically] hearing they do not [spiritually] hear, nor do they understand. 14 In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, "you will keep on [physically] hearing, but will not understand; you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive; for the heart of this people has become dull, with their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes [spiritually], hear with their ears [spiritually], and understand with their heart and return, and I would heal them" '" (NASB). SO, TO HEAR IS TO LISTEN & OBEY Will hear a WORD Word……Dabar………….. the reality of, the reality being experienced, expresses "conversing that gets through" – envisioning the state of understanding of the listener and the clarity of the speaker. Will hear a word behind you saying, “this is the WAY” Way in Hebrew means: derek – a well-worn road, highway, one's whole journey (over-all way) of life, rooted in timeless moral-spiritual realities. These are established by God's own nature, the principles of life set by God to experience maximum meaning in one's life-journey. The significance of each scene of life then is both just and predictable as God has connected their eternal values before the foundation of the world. This is the way, WALK in it WALK in Hebrew is: halak – proceed, taking the needed action step(s) – going intentionally to the next place or stage (destination); moving on, walking forward with necessary effort and its resultant progress; THE PURSUIT OF LIFE….LIVING OUT WHAT HAS BEEN SPOKEN! Whenever you turn to the right or to the left TURN in Hebrew means to choose. If you choose to go to the right or your choose to go to the left. Hiphil verb stems shows the doer acts intentionally – convinced of its necessity – so carrying through ("making it happen") by taking the implied action-step. Jeremiah 29:11 says, `For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, `plans for prosperity (a state of wholeness that involves three things: a breath through, so you can breath forth, then you will break out) and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Words in Hebrew FOR I KNOW….Mind…….Yetzer…………..to imagine, the image of, mind IN the heart MY WORD WILL BRING YOU LIFE…NOT DESTRUCTION OR CALAMITY Word……Dabar………….. the reality of, the reality being experienced, WHEN YOU READ MY WORD YOU EXPERIENCE AND ENCOUNTER ME……Read……Qara……………. to encounter, to read is to encounter the author I know the PLANS: /Thoughts….Think……HHASHAV ………to design, to invent, to seal upon our hearts the intentions of our lives. Isaiah 30:21 And your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn (choose the right) to the right or to the left (or make a left)

The Story of how a young boy who was raised in a good, christian home was seduced by the enemy of drugs and suicide. Cameron Teeters is his name. When I first heard his story I WEPT! You know why? Because there are many stories that I have heard like this where I attended their funeral. Too many to count! But here’s the power of a praying mom and dad, and a praying church, a praying community! Does prayer change things? Absolutely!!! His parents waited, persevered, endured 8 years of a drug addiction by praying, fasting, standing on God’s Word, and believing for a miracle. Now, you will hear the other side of the story from Cameron’s own voice of HOW he was seduced, HOW he was set free, and HOW the enemy LEFT HIM!! Now He is on fire for the Lord! He was really saved! SAVED, HEALED AND DELIVERED! Cameron says the way you STAY FREE is to be filled with the Holy Spirit and FIRE! The demon of addiction doesn’t play with you! He came to kill, steal, and destroy. But God used a man, randomly on YouTube that cast demons off of Cameron. You have to command demons to come UP and OUT and you shut the door to them so they no longer have access to your soul! I can’t wait for you to hear Cameron’s full story. Enjoy today’s episode! Here is the link to Cameron’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O21VRCqG1O4&t=6s Here is the video that Cameron watched when he was delivered from drugs. The spirit that oppressed him lost its power when the power of God came upon him…..even through a video!! Tell me God don’t travel through the sound waves?????!!!!! Of course HE does!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqt_5F5FZa0

Janet tells the story of David at Ziklag and compares it to a crow! Hey You guys! Today’s podcast is going to be fresh manna to your soul! I just have one question for you: Have you been discouraged? If so, this episode is JUST FOR YOU! The other day I was at the beach to watch the sunset with my husband and we saw this black crow taunting this beautiful white BIG bird! The bird was sitting on tree branch, minding its own business, when this mean crow came out of no where as to say, “Hey…move out of the way…that’s my branch!” This crow kept attacking the bird. But he bird just sat there and ignored it! I’m getting fiery mad just watching it! But the bird was calm, cool and collective! Every now and then the bird would raise its wings and shake off the crow, but remained immovable! Let me tell you….GOD SPOKE TO ME THROUGH THIS and I want to share with you what God showed me. 1 Samuel 30:1-8 David and his men WEPT UNTIL THEY HAD NO STRENGTH LEFT! Here in this scripture is the story of David and how he shook off the CROW at Ziklag! HIS CROW WAS DISCOURAGEMENT! What is yours? The crow came to raid, to strip off, make a dash, to invade as in to take over, to remove FAITH, to skin him alive, to strip the off and take David out! Captive: Taking...captive (163) (aichmalotizo from aichme = a spear + halotós = to be taken or conquered) was a military term which mean to take captive as a prisoner or be led away captive Strengthened: 2388 ḥāzaq – , tie up (like a bandage), refusal to let up; show strength that does not yield or quit; (figuratively) unrelenting, stay gripped, holding on to; cling with great "resistance-strength" being immovable; tenacity, strength which does not let go, won't let up, staying gripped ("locked on"); stout, unyielding. I want to leave you with these scriptures and encourage you in the LORD!! DON’T BE DISCOURAGED FOR YOU WILL RECOVER ALL! Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:13 "For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I am the one who helps you.’" Deuteronomy 31:8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Psalm 94:18–19 When I thought, "My foot slips," Your steadfast love, O LORD, helped me up. When the cares of my heart are many, Your consolations cheer my soul. John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Mario tells his story of pain and trauma and nothing that he went through was wasted PART 1 You guys!!! I’m not gonna lie! I haven’t cried this hard with an interview in a few years! This man’s story pierced my soul! Mario was born out of rape! His only dad he ever knew (step dad) committed suicide and yet the Holy Spirit was knocking on the doors of his heart but he kept resisting the pull of the Lord. His hatred for his mom fueled his bitterness and he blamed her for his dad’s suicide. But God kept showing up on the scenes of his life. Through it all, God was speaking, and tugging on his heart. Then he was mowed down with a group of friends when he was hit by a car on the beach!! Mario was living a reckless life, but his pain was like the tide of the ocean when the tide goes in….it kept pulling him further and further to sea. But you guys! You’ve got to hear the emotion in his voice, the tears in his eyes as he tells you of the encounters he had with God.

Janet talks about how she picked out Palm Sunday Songs that point to Easter and what they mean. You guys, I know this is an old song, but I pulled it out to do this week because I was feeling it deep in my spirit. Especially after I looked at what it meant.
