"Grit is that ‘extra something’ that separates the most successful people from the rest.  It’s the passion, perseverance, and stamina that we must channel in order to stick with our dreams until they become a reality." – Travis Bradberry   YouTube: https://youtu.be/fgea2rqD5WI    Check Out These Highlights:  Twenty-five years ago, I set out on a journey to take control of my time and income to start my business, and I never looked back.  I was passionate and on a mission to teach sales from the perspective of love, care, and respect, and I felt too many companies were pushing products or services and not loving on their customers to create even better results.  So, passion, perseverance, and stamina were all present every day! If it hadn’t, I wouldn’t be doing it anymore.  I reflect on the passion I had and still have. I know that I have lived my life with a true purpose, and I believe that is why my business has been successful.   Are you living a life of purpose by choice?  No judgment in my question, just a question to ponder and think about for your life and situation because it’s never too late to make a change.   About Shadan Kapri: Shadan is an attorney, business owner, and author recognized on the local, national, and international levels for her dedication to human rights and environmental justice. “SEO doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Every situation offers a unique set of variables.” -  Chuck Price. In this episode, my guest and I will discuss key SEO topics, including what to look for when hiring an SEO agency, weighing the risks and benefits of SEO, and when to hire an in-house resource versus an agency. We will also explore effective local SEO strategies and break down E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), explaining what it is and how it impacts your business.    YouTube: https://youtu.be/kHf_QU0ST0s   About Nick Musica:  Nick has been an SEO professional since 2003. "Strong leadership companies have the ability to create new jobs for the community and to improve human life.” - Millennial, China. “Companies where people look up to and (who) do what is right to serve the communities they are involved in have the strongest leadership." - Millennial, U.S.    My oldest son is on the cusp of Gen Y and Z, whereas my younger son is all Gen Z.  I am fascinated to hear their perspective on business, why they buy the products or services they do, and what their take on work/life balance looks like.     Here’s why I always seek their advice and thoughts about situations I encounter in my business and in life.  Studies show that Generation Z and Generation Y believe business should be used as a force for good. Businesses that make money while violating basic human rights and damaging the environment are being boycotted by the younger generations, as they feel that their money should go to businesses that are doing good in this world. This is changing the business landscape and the way many companies do business.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/6IWo9PIfj2s   About Shadan Kapri:  Shadan is an attorney, business owner, and author recognized on the local, national, and international levels for her dedication to human rights and environmental justice. Great leaders are people who don’t seek power but take responsibility because they have the capability and empathy to help others.” - Theodora Lai   When I started my career in the early 1980s, I was discriminated against because I was a female. That forced me to become resilient and take charge of my career. Being held back was not an option for me, so I chose to seek new opportunities to challenge my skills and grow my career.  I knew I was always in control and never gave away my power.    Today’s show - “Here Come the Girls: a Celebration of How and Why Women will Take Over Global Leadership from 2028-2032 and 10x the Economy” is for leaders and CEOs committed to driving transformative change within their organizations.   During today’s conversation, my guest and I will discuss how the unprecedented rise of women in leadership roles is reshaping the global economic landscape and fostering more inclusive, innovative, and resilient workplaces. The unique leadership qualities women bring, such as empathy, collaboration, and a focus on long-term sustainability, and how these attributes can be harnessed to overcome common DEI challenges.   Youtube https://youtu.be/JvFDDOk7nq8   About Dr. Don Barden: Don is a classically trained economist globally recognized as an expert in leadership and decision-making. My motivational quote for today is by – Joshua J. Marine, “Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful” - Joshua J. Marine. I have learned that no one escapes tragedy or challenges in life.  There is no such thing as a perfect life or situation. That’s life, filled with ups and downs!    Getting up, dusting off, and moving forward is the only control or approach we need to grow, learn, and, yes, even be happy.  Life can’t be avoided unless you live in a cave, so how do we navigate difficult times? We need tools and strategies to help us get back up and move forward stronger, wiser, and more blessed.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/Er9SscxwNr8   About Julianne Mclean: Julianne is passionate about advocating for mental health and mental health research. “Ego says, ‘I can do no wrong,’ whereas confidence says, ‘I can get this right.’ Confidence says, ‘I’m valuable,’ while ego says, ‘I’m invaluable.’” - Todd Henry   YouTube: https://youtu.be/NtI7h4pYTOM   Check Out These Highlights:    The Ego resides in the subconscious mind and creates identities. These identities help you get through challenging situations and keep you safe. They also keep you from being happy. The Subconscious, in turn, and the ego constitute 95% of how you autopilot through life. Think of an iceberg.  The tip-top 5% of the iceberg represents our conscious mind, while 95% below water represents our subconscious mind.  So, who is driving your life?  The reality is your Ego, and its subconscious programs are the reason you are stuck, unhappy, and not getting the desired results.    About Dan Jimenez:  Dan is a self-proclaimed “Human Experience Enthusiast.” Dan is known for his positive mental attitude, unique philosophical outlook, and Adventurous spirit. Connie's motivational quotes for today is by – Renee Rouleau, “Be good to your skin. You'll wear it every day for the rest of your life." I turn 63 years old this November of 2024.  As I write my notes and see the #63 written out, I can’t help but pause and think about the aging process and what it means. They say 60 is the new 40 and I kind of agree with this notion.  For me being healthy on the inside is critical and yes, I will be honest and say I want to look good on the outside too.  That’s not being vain, rather it’s about living a thriving life and staying relevant for my business and for my clients.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/Cl3QDD2dCko   About Michelle Brocato: Michelle Brocato is a licensed esthetician but most of all – she is a free spirit, someone who never judges and claims she is an old soul. My motivational quote for today is by – Brian Tracy "Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, 'What's in it for me?'" – Brian Tracy. I love this quote; it helps set up today's show topic: Differentiation is the Key to Unlocking Sales. So, how can brands (and their sales teams) differentiate in a crowded marketplace to stand out and drive customer acquisition? “Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create” – Jana Kingsford. I’m often asked how I have created balance while running and growing a business, especially when my kids were babies. The simple answer is that it wasn't easy. The better answer is that even though it wasn’t easy, it depended on how my husband and I managed our work and home lives.    It was a team effort for us. When I would go into heavy work mode and not come up for air, he’d come into my office, shut my computer off, and tell me to come upstairs to hang out with him and the kids. After five minutes, I would always look at him and thank him because he knew what I needed more than I did. I believe that creating such balance takes deliberate strategies and working together.    YouTube: https://youtu.be/TRGjvDLC12o   About Jackie Joy:  Jackie is a dynamic Leadership Coach and Sales Trainer at Selling From the Heart. I wanted to control my time and earning power on my terms. “Governing is about making tough decisions, but it’s also about figuring out a better way to do things.” – Mike DeVine. So, I am mixing things up and doing a solo show! Recently my husband and I watched a movie produced by Ron Howard called Hillbilly Elegy, a very honest memoir about JD Vance. I promise this is not a political show, and it doesn’t matter which side of the aisle you sit in politics.     This movie is about living the American dream when all the odds are against you. It’s a must-see, and I believe our kids should watch it. Here are a couple of points I took away from the movie:  I often hear from people I work with that they feel they have no option but to stay in a job or a relationship that doesn’t make them shine or feel alive. Because they have a mortgage, rent, kids, college, and the list goes on as to why they can’t make a change.  By not making a choice, you are choosing not to act, but it is a choice, just the same.   Our ego and reptilian brain try to keep us safe, but to what end?  I challenge you to watch the movie and see how Ron Howard shows the pivotal moments of change and choice through JD’s reflections and memories of the past.     YouTube: https://youtu.be/VRajZNaLqfE   Stalk me online! LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/conniewhitman   Subscribe to the Enlightenment of Change podcast on your favorite podcast streaming service or YouTube.  New episodes are posted every week. Listen to Connie dive into new sales and business topics or problems you may have.

“Customer-centricity should be about delivering value for customers that will eventually create value for the company” – Robert G. Thompson. The root of sustainable growth is having customers who buy and evangelize your company. However, surveying all visitors and customers does not show why the customers buy. To decipher this, you have to blend qualitative and quantitative research.     My guest today has helped companies, big and small, level up their understanding of how customers make decisions, which has helped marketers make better decisions.    YouTube: https://youtu.be/NDH07AjFlxA   About Valentin Radu: Valentin is the pioneer of the CVO Movement (Customer Value Optimization) and the founder of CVO Academy, where he teamed up with prominent professors and practitioners to teach people how to achieve sustainable growth by understanding and caring for their customers.   He is also the author of The CLV Revolution, a highly appreciated book for companies looking to get serious about customer lifetime value. Valentin's experimentation mindset has led him to develop the CVO Methodology and cutting-edge technologies for experimenting online and in brick-and-mortar stores, being the first that enabled companies to optimize their customer lifetime value across all the touch points.   A lifelong entrepreneur, he has successfully built four companies, including his current venture, Omniconvert, that provide CRO and CVO solutions to retail giants like Avon, Patagonia, Auchan, and many others.   How to Get In Touch with Valentin Radu:  Email:  valentin.radu@omniconvert.com Website:  https://www.omniconvert.com/ Gift:  https://theclvrevolution.com/   Stalk me online!  “Creativity involves breaking out of expected patterns in order to look at things in a different way”, Edward deBono.  As I reflect on my life and having a dad who was an engineer by trade, I was taught how to look at any situation, problem, or life event through a lens of logic. This is funny because I remember as a kid loving to draw and create pictures of landscapes with horses, colorful sunsets, a field of trees and flowers, and the list goes on.  I’m not sure what happened or why I stopped drawing and using my creative mind.     I think as my life became busier with academics, sports, working part-time jobs, family obligations, friends, and boyfriends, (you know you have this type of list too) life just got too busy and I stopped creating pictures on paper and canvas.   Guess what?  Today is the perfect time to get excited about creativity and how it can transform your life.  Some tools may work in your personal life and not in your professional life. The cool thing is that tapping into your creativity is something that enhances every aspect of your life. “Every success story is a tale of constant adaption, revision, and change” – Richard Branson.  When I started this show over a decade ago, I asked a friend what they thought about me starting a podcast and if it would be worth the time and money to host a show.  Her response made so much sense because I could not see the forest from the trees.  She said, “Do you have an hour or two each week to host the show?  And will you be able to still pay your mortgage and put food on the table?”  Then she said, in the worst-case scenario, you waste time and money.  Can you live with that?  Finally, she said, “What if you become an international phenomenon?”    So, I started the show and now have two shows. I paid my mortgage and put food on the table, and both my shows are ranked in the top 5% of all business podcasts. In hindsight, yes, it was worth it. “Our DNA is like a genie in a bottle, except they are genes in our body, connected to the unified field of the universe. They react to our thoughts to make our wishes a reality by attracting people, things, and experiences which we desire & think about most.” – Lacey Knight   One of my favorite studies on human memories and habits transmitted through our ancestral DNA is by Dias and Ressler.  Over several repetitions, they train mice to become afraid of the smell of cherry blossoms and associate the cherry blossom with pain.    Shortly afterward, these males bred with female mice. When their pups smelled the scent of cherry blossom, they became more jumpy and nervous than pups whose fathers hadn't been conditioned to fear it, even though they had never felt the electric shock associated with the cherry blossom smell.  This plays out for humans and our ancestral DNA, too.  Are you intrigued?    YouTube: https://youtu.be/HDSj3U7ULFA   About Judy Wilkins-Smith: Just is a highly regarded executive coach, Family Patterns, Systemic Work, Constellations expert, transformational speaker, and author passionate about individual growth, visionary leadership, and positive, accelerated, global change. “The human capacity for burden is like bamboo- far more flexible than you’d ever believe at first glance.” ― Jodi Picoult. I am a visual learner, and this quote hit home for me.  I know that if I do not remain healthy in my mind, body, and spirit, I will never be able to attain the lofty goals I have set for myself and my business.  I also know that what may work for me won’t work for you and vice versa.  In my business, I customize every solution for the client or prospect in front of me. Customization in all aspects of life and business is also necessary when we explore ways to improve our health. “I think every working mom probably feels the same thing:  You go through big chunks of time where you’re just thinking, this is impossible – oh, this is impossible.  And then you keep going and going, and you sort of do the impossible” – Tina Fey As a working mom and business owner for my kids' entire lives, juggling my professional and personal life is always a challenge and something to be mindful of. After I had my kids and immediately went back to work, I had no idea the guilt and overwhelm that was possible. There is no way to prepare for the child's schedule and your schedule. It can be challenging, but it is doable with the right team.  In today’s episode, we will discuss the importance of adjusting your mindset for exercise during pregnancy & postpartum and adjusting to the "mom" lifestyle & demands.    YouTube: https://youtu.be/D4hTpQEpm_c   About Jordan Searles: During her pregnancy, Jordan felt lost trying to figure out how to continue exercising while also keeping her body and baby safe. Even with her education to become a certified gym teacher and holding the Guinness Book World Record for the best time, she accomplished a one-mile-long record for women earlier this year.     She wishes she had someone to connect with who could have guided her through the different stages and feelings of what it took to exercise during pregnancy and postpartum. This motivated her to get her pre-and postnatal training specialist certification while on maternity leave with her son, Cameron. Through her knowledge and personal experience, she aims to educate women on prenatal and postpartum exercise and advocate for overall prenatal/postnatal women’s health.   How to Get In Touch With Jordan Searles:  Instagram:  @jordansrls_fit Email:  fitness.musclemama@gmail.com   Stalk me online! “The victim mindset dilutes the human potential. By not accepting personal responsibility for our circumstances, we greatly reduce our power to change them.” – Steve Maraboli . I all too often hear my clients say things like, “I have no choice with X situation, so I just put my head down and keep working.” This always makes me pause because I have learned that we always have a choice, yet sometimes it may feel like we are victims of our circumstances or situations.  The choices before us may not be easy to see, understand, or navigate, but there is always a choice because we are in control of our own lives, businesses, or careers.  My guest this week is back for a second time, and we are going to explore the notion of how to move from victim to victor.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/nHTMk5ze3vo   About David Neagle:   David is a speaker, best-selling author, founder of the multimillion-dollar global consulting company Life Is Now, Inc., and host of the Business Daily News-ranked podcast The Successful Mind.  Being in the personal and professional development industry for more than 20 years, David has helped tens of thousands of students from across the globe gain confidence and find the right mindset needed to increase their revenue, turning their endeavors into seven- and eight-figure ventures.   How to Get In Touch With David Neagle:   Previous Enlightenment of Change (Episode 329):  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/enlightenment-of-change/id1313299091?i=1000649679058 Website:  https://www.lifeisnowinc.com/ Email:  tia@davidneagle.com Podcast:  The Successful Mind Podcast   Stalk me online! “Success is never a straight line, and it will never be. Part of achieving that goal are the hardships along the way.  When it gets difficult, it is often right before you succeed.” – Chris Darrett   Lately, I have heard many of my clients share that they feel overwhelmed by their daily tasks. “Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management.  Balance means making choices and enjoying those choices.” – Betsy Jacobson. Lately, many people in their 30s have asked me how I was able to start a business, raise my two boys (who played travel hockey from the age of 5), and maintain a marriage for 32 years.  The short answer is that I just put one foot in front of the other. Truly, there was no master's plan when I was in my 30s, knowing how to create a wonderful business and life.  I’ve learned to set clear boundaries with every choice, but that has come over time.  This is why I chose this quote for today. It always boils down to boundaries and choices. We are the only ones who can control our future, so setting clear boundaries that you can live with is crucial.     YouTube: https://youtu.be/sM-9AhQtKcA   About Connie Whitman: Known for her high-energy, passionate, heart-centered, and enthusiastic approach to sales, teaching, and coaching, Connie Whitman has been the CEO of Changing the Sales Game for 20+ years, helping business owners, leaders, and sales teams build powerhouse organizations.    Connie is a four-time #1 International Best-Selling author, including her book ESP (Easy Sales Process): 7-Steps to Sales Success, speaker, and podcast host.  Her inspired teaching, transformational tools, and content ensure that bankers, business owners, and salespeople grow their revenue streams through enhanced communication skills.    She is thrilled to share inspiring content on her international podcasts “Changing the Sales Game” and “Enlightenment of Change.”   How to Get In Touch With Connie Whitman: Website:  https://changingthesalesgme.com Email:  connie@changingthesalesgame.com Free Gift – CSA:  https://tinyurl.com/CSAFreeGift   Stalk me online! “When you begin to talk in stories, your black-and-white words turn into color.  Your drab requests turn into a mission.  People find you to be more compelling.  And once that happens, others will see that stories work, and they’ll start telling stories, too.”  – Annette Simmons   YouTube: https://youtu.be/2afTeYmOg8Q    Check Out These Highlights:    As a multisensory learner, I learn much easier when I can see, hear, and try out new skills. “Decide which direction you are going in and take action. One decision at a time, one moment at a time.” — Akiroq Brost. I chose this quote today because you have heard me end my podcast episodes with the notion that learning new information is a beautiful thing. Doing nothing with that new knowledge and not taking action is a choice you and I get to make every day.     It's not uncommon to hear of people who strongly desire to change their lives, seek knowledge, and then do nothing with the information they've learned. I know I am an action-taker.  Are you an action taker to create the change you are seeking?    Today, I will discuss WHY we sabotage the change we’re seeking with my guest so that we can be aware of how it happens. Hopefully, this will help us keep moving forward.    YouTube: https://youtu.be/UPePGHnhCmI   About David Neagl:  David is a speaker, best-selling author, founder of the multimillion-dollar global consulting company Life Is Now, Inc., and host of the Business Daily News-ranked podcast The Successful Mind.  For more than twenty years, David has been in the personal and professional development industry. “Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.” - B.K.S. Iyengar. I have changed many habits over the past 20 years, where I practice mind, body, and spirit daily so I and my business can thrive. It took me a long time to consider self-care a necessity, not a luxury.  Initially, I thought taking time for myself was selfish, and I felt like I was letting all the people around me, including my family, down.      We are all works in progress.  We must keep reiterating to build our best habits and sustain a healthy, happy, long life.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/LfRANjgMcJA   About Dr. Greg Hammer:  Dr. Hammer’s book, GAIN Without Pain: The Happiness Handbook for Health Care Professionals, focuses on the four pillars of Dr. Hammer’s meditation methodology: Gratitude, Acceptance, Intention, and Non-Judgment to promote overall well-being and harmony between the mind and body.     Dr. Hammer has established himself as a guiding light for numerous physicians facing burnout in their respective fields. “Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can't.” – Johnny Depp. Growing up, my older siblings took piano lessons.  I wanted nothing to do with it.  I wanted to go outside with my friends, run, play ball, ride my bike, jump off the swing set in our backyard, and just be free to play.    Today, there are so many benefits for children's brain development that music can tap into and help children learn quicker just by understanding that music can be learned like a native language.  I want to repeat that - Music can be learned like a native language.  Are you intrigued?   YouTube: https://youtu.be/1JdgimPVu1g   About Chris Salter:   Chris has a deep background in linguistics and music and has studied potential crossovers for decades. In 2001, Chris created the original Piano Wizard company and concept and launched products in 2005. 2008 hit, and most of the company's deals collapsed, forcing them to retrench, barely surviving. Chris then launched a home school educational version (www.PianoWizardAcademy.com) that changed lives, leading Chris and his team to pivot to the profound cognitive impact of Music Brain Training.   How to Get In Touch With Chris Salter:   Email:  chris@musicwizard.com Website:   http://www.musicbraintraining.com/   Stalk me online! “Video marketing solidifies your online presence while building deep and meaningful relationships with your customers. It adds a personal touch to your brand while increasing your conversions!” - Lisa Lubin   A few years ago, the owner of WebTalkRadio, Mary Lou Davidson, was coaching me on becoming a better host and making my podcast interesting, fun, and engaging.  Then, one day, she told me, “You need to start recording your show using video.”  I couldn’t hear anything after that, as if in a time warp.  In my mind, I was thinking, “Did she tell me I need to record the show using video?  So people could see me! That’s crazy and not happening.” After a few minutes of her sharing the benefits of video, I buckled and embraced her recommendations.  That was about three years ago.  That is the best advice ever!    I have become so comfortable on video that being on Zoom was like breathing when COVID hit.  I created a digital class, and yes, you guessed it, I use short videos to teach the content of our weekly group coaching calls.  Basically, for most businesses, using video isn’t an option. It’s a must-do.
