Today the Waverider is burning up the Temporal Zone running between the dystopian future the 2040’s and the totally rad 1980’s. Plus we had to play chicken with the Time Bureau. But we made it here to share our thoughts on Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episodes 3 & 4, “Zari” and “Phone Home.”   In “Zari” we head to 2042 because the Water Totem bearer Kuasa, is hopping through time to take out all of the Totem bearers. In this timeline A.R.G.U.S. is ruling with an iron fist. Meta’s are outlawed and so is religion. Zari’s family is in trouble for both. Zari’s brother was the Wind Totem bearer, but he was killed. Gary sees he is no match for Kuasa ad calls for backup. The Legends arrive and rescue Zari. She agrees to help them if they free her brother. But it is all a ruse, she uses them to get the Wind Totem. We get to see all the Legends and Zari fight Kuasa. After Amaya & Nate’s vision quest, Amaya learns she has to help Zari. Only then do they send Kuasa packing.   “Phone Home” has Ray being erased from time due to being killed in the 80’s. Young Ray is as optimistic and friendly as his older self. That gets him into trouble when he befriends a baby Dominator. The men in black capture him and the baby. The Legends manage to stop them from killing young Ray, but they must reunite the baby with the queen before everyone suffers. We get to see a lot of cool 80’s fashion, cars, and more. Zari & Ray do some bonding. It also gives Ray a chance to see his childhood in a different light. Jax and Mick find out that Stein has been stealing the jumpship and creating tech that communicates across time. They think it is to betray them to the Bureau. But it is really to communicate with Lily. They steal the jumpship and make it to the hospital in time to see Lily give birth to Ronnie.   These were two fun episodes. Superman is off fighting Doomsday on the moon. So we have jumped in the Waverider. We decided to journey back to 2017 and learn some lessons from the Legends of Tomorrow.   We kick off our Season 3 rewatch with episodes 1 & 2. “Aruba-Con” brings the Legends into a world filled with anachronisms. Rip Hunter has established the Time Bureau to deal with them. Our team were given pink slips, kicked out of the Waverider, and forced to get real jobs. Things are not going well. Until Caesar shows up in Aruba to ruin Mick’s vacation. The team goes head-to-head with the Bureau, steals back the ship, and saves the day. Well not on the first attempt. Rip convinces Ava to let them go, because they will be need in the fight with Mallus.   “Freakshow” sees the team steal Bureau tech and upgrade Gideon. They pick up Jax & Stein and Amaya. They head off to fix a level 1 anachronism and in true Legends style they mess things up. It was a great ep to see the literal sparing between Sarah & Ava. Plus, we got Billy Zane as P.T. It's finale time! Lex has big plans...BIG plans...as he discovers secrets of the Bizarro Superman, who apparently can't be killed...for too long...before he comes back to life stronger and unable to die from the same fate. This is it Speed Demons. The Finale of the Flash. After nine years of running, Barry Allen is taking a break, and we once again have to say goodbye to another superhero show, and it's never an easy thing to do. So sit back, enjoy our finale coverage, and hang on until the very end, as we give Flash the epic goodbye that it deserves. Final Episode Breakdown: The Waverider tapped into the Speed Force to try and keep up as we follow Flash, Iris, and the team as they face off against Cobalt Blue and a legion of speedster villians. We have Team Flash with 2049 Nora battle Cobalt Blue, Reverse Flash, Zoom, Godspeed and Savitar. All but Cobalt Blue are defeated and he drains them of Negative Speed Force energy to defete Barry. Khione tells him the answer is not about balance but co-existance. Barry helps Eddie reject the crystal's influence and they form an uneasy truce. Nora is born and in order to help her and their world, Barry creates 3 new speedsters. Khione assends to protect the natural world, and leaves Caitlin in her place. Our time watching the Arrowverse on TV has come to a close, but this final episode of the Flash isn't the end. The universe still exists and the heroes are still out there fighting the good fight. We just won't be able to watch it week to week on our TV screens. This may be the end of the Arrowverse as we knew it, but fear not, we will be back to give our full thoughts on The Flash as a series and the Arrowverse as a tv history making multi-series universe. Superman & Lois is also still around, and will carry the torch of shows now past. The Waverider is going back and forth between the future and the present of Central City. In the future Dr. Malcolm Gilmore is digging into Eddie Thawne's past. That leads him to the CCPD where Officer Daisy Korber has risen in the ranks to Captain. He is having flashes of Eddie's death. The voice of Cobalt Blue urges him to find her. He seeks out Iris and that leads to more memories. He finally figures it all out. Somehow he is a resurected Eddie Thawne. Menwhile in the present, Iris and Team Flash are searching for Barry. They find radioactive Cobalt as a signature. Mark returns to help, but he has been possessed by the Negative Speed Force crystal. He is dividing the team and trying to kill Iris and baby Nora. The Speed Force saves her and helps Khione realize she is a goddess. She is the key to helping find Barry and the team. She turns Mark to dirt, removes the crystal and restores him. Barry makes it back to the present and debriefs with Iris during her labor. The Waverider is back in Smallville, but we also make a quick stop in  Metropolis too! While Lois struggles through her chemo treatments, getting more tired and weak, she still manages to put on a brave face. Natalie heads to Hob's Bay to meet Matteo's parents at Bruno's restaurant. The dinner ends with an explosive result and the reveals come crashing down this episode, ending with Peia fighting for her life in a DOD medical facility. Meanwhile, Clark, Chrissy, and Sam try to bring Lois out of her chemo fog by continuing to research Bruno and Peia's past. In the end, Lois and Clark discover they wrongfully imprisoned Lex Luthor for crimes Peia committed as her alter ego.  It's a eye opening story all around for everyone as truths are revealed, and secrets uncovered. The Waverider is docked at STAR Labs. This week Bloodwork returns to try and take over the multiverse through infecting people with his blood. But he needs Kid Flash to do it. Diggle a.k.a. Spartan is in town for Barry's 2nd 30th birthday party. But after Blookwork poisons everyone at the party, and then takes over Wally, Barry suddenly is on his own. Before he could talk Wally out of his trance, he gets a vibrating hand through the chest! The long awaited return of Oliver Queen appears to Barry on Lian Yu, which is once again acting as the great void of purgatory. Using his powers as Spectre, he brings Barry back to life and then suits up as Arrow for one last battle together with Diggle and Wally. The Waverider is back in Smallville, and we were in the air searching for the missing Sophie. It seems she was feeling neglected by her family. It took a good speech from Jonathan to help her. Jordan has been training at the Fortress, but it is not good enough for Clark to let him come out in the field. But the blasts of Onomatopoeia and 3 soldiers with Kryptonite guns are too much for Superman. Jordan comes to the rescue. The Waverider was on the way back from Smallville to Central City, but we got sucked into this weird dreamscape.  Dreamer, Nia Nal played by Nicole Maines, has been working on her skills and is seeking the source of dream power. A hooded woman confronts her, Iris shows up and talks about control before being killed and Nia's powers are zapped.  In the real world she heads to Central City to talk with Iris. She and Iris are zapped to the dream realm.  The hooded figure is the sources of the dream powers and is helping Nia confront her fears and Iris is along for the ride.  She is facinge the article that will help her win her first Pulitzer, but she feels out of control. She feels shackled to her job. So the dreams are her way of exploring other carrers. Nia & Iris help each other confront their fears. The Waverider is flying us back to STAR Labs from Smallville.  Barry & Iris are sticking to cars and no superspeed during the pregnancy. They are off on a babymoon adventure. Cecile is trying to balance her work, superheroing, and family but it is not going well. She is sleeping at her office and work is causing her to miss important events. Allegra is there to help her get perspective.  Chuck is helping Mark to test Khione for powers. But they find none. Mark is living with regret for never telling Frost he lover her. He is projecting Frost on to Khione because he wants Frost to live on in her. She says Frost does live in him. Chuck sends the test results out for verficaiton. But her luck changes after her engagement. After spending a month in Central City, the Legends catch a scoop and head off to Smallville only to find out that some nerdy guy in glasses has taken our job at the Smallville Gazette! 27 days have passed since the world almost ended and there's a lot to catch up with as we get used to the new Jonathan, including a 16th birthday party, several rocky relationships and potential love triangles, a pregnancy scare, a corrupt former mayor, and oh yea, superhero stuff! We end the episode on an ominous note with a super creepy nightmare villain working with (or for?) Bruno Manheim. They can apparently reanimate the dead and cure cancer, and that's bringing them closer...closer to some mysterious thing that will probably play out for the rest of the season. The Waverider is docked at STAR Labs in Central City. Red Death has speed hacked a satellite, and with the amplification of Gorilla Grodd's power, is creating her own global enforcers with the intent on wiping out crime. She sets a trap for Flash and his Rogues with Mark held as bait. Flash hasn't gained his speed back yet, and so feeling outgunned,  the Rogues abandon him. But after a talk with Joe, he goes to confront Grodd to gain his help by using the Speed Force spark to re-energize his own speed. Barry, the Rogues, and a sudden drop in by the real Batwoman, they manage to take down Red Death. Joe is taking Jenna to the country to raise her. Cecile will get to be a hero during the week and have dedicated family time on the weekends. Chuck and Allegra are moving forward with their relationship. The Waverider is docked at STAR Labs in Central City. Thank goodness Gideon and the Waverider are shielded from EMP's!  Red Death reveals that she is from a different timeline. She was adopted by the Wayne family and became Batwoman. Much like the Red Death in the comics, she got tired of criminals and wanted to prevent crime. Through studying other heros tech and meta powers, she was able to creat her own armor and Speed Force. Her timeline's Flash & Rogues didn't approve and fought back, starting a war that she couldn't win, so she tried to hide in the Speed Force but it rejected her artificial speed and threw her out into our world. She needs our Barry to open the portal to her timeline by using the Cosmic Treadmill as it needs organic speed force energy. Iris figures out her story, but before she can do anything, Red Death knocks her down and drags her to where Barry is held, forcing him to run or he loses her. After some convincing, Mark sneaks in to help Barry out and he chooses to switch sides. The Waverider is docked at STAR Labs in Central City, but we might need to take a trip to Gotham City. It seems that Team Flash has learned from Lucas Fox that Ryan Wilder a.k.a. Batwoman has been missing for a few weeks. The tech that Red Death's Rogues are using are based off of Wayne Enerprise designs but is way more advanced. Barry thinks Red Death (named by Goldface), is the new Negative Speedforce Avatar. But he has no clue yet that Red Death is Ryan. Red Death's Rogues have been gathering parts for a Cosmic Treadmill, but they need one more to finish it. Barry & Hartley bring together The Hotness, Chill-Blaine, and Goldface to steal the quantum vibration engine first. All is going according to plan, until Mark betrays them. It seems Red Death promised him a way to bring back Frost and he fell for it. We got to see Barry & Iris checking off another item on their babymoon list and they had good communication as a couple, whereas Chuck and Allegra need help in that department. The team was divided about who to bring back, Caitlyn or Frost. But Barry realized that Caitlyn made her choice and Snow deserved the same right. To Mark's dismay, Snow chose to live and took on her dad's name for her, Khione, which is the name of the greek goddess of snow. But we are wondering if Khione has the ability to control the weather... The new Fiddler was sent by Red Death to take Hartley's gauntlets. With Barry & Snow's help, Hartley made the right decision and saved his boyfriend and the club employees. But Captain Boomerang and Fiddler got away with the gauntlets. Red Death was stabilized and is now ready to take out revenge on the Flash. The Waverider has landed in Central City. Our band of Hero Hosts are here to report on all we saw. The episode picks up right after the events of last year's season finale.  Barry & Iris have enjoyed some well needed time off and are about to head back to their jobs. But things are not well in the marriage. They are not talking and sharing their feelings. Barry has made a book of all of the informaiton he has learned about the future. He sees it as a roadmap to keep them on track and safe. But Iris sees it as shackels. She has no free will and no way to deviate.  The all new Captain Boomerang is stealing an energy device from a mobile particle accelerator. Thanks to his tech he is more than a match for Barry. He escapes and Barry blows it off. But something happened. Both Barry & Iris awake to find out the day is repeating. Barry is killed in the next encounter with Boomerang. Barry & Iris reset and this pattern loops over an over with no way out. After a good Poppa Joe talk, Barry sees that the book is ruining the marriage. He and Iris determine to work through the events of the day together. They do it on their own terms. With Iris working with Sue to buy another paper. Barry accepts the Chief of the CSI's job. Barry enlists Iris to stop Boomerang. They burn the book and the loop breaks. They decide to focus on their marriage and have the honeymoon they deserve.  We find out Boomerang is working with Red Death, a speedster setting out to end The Flash. We also see that Caitlin & Mark's work did not recreate Frost. It created a new person who is not Caitlin or Frost. The Waverider has landed in Central City after a long absence. We are here to assist the Flash and his team as they seek to restore Iris, preserve the future for the Flash Family, and keep the city safe. Joining Flash, Harley and xforce11 in the Justice League of Super Hosts, are our friends Silver Vox and Green Butterfly. They are joining us from our sister show, Dive Into DC. (You can hear their Flash season 8 recap here). In this episode, we share news, information, and guest stars for season 9 of The Flash. We also speculate on what it all means and share our thoughs on how we think the season will go, as well as on how we want the series to end. For the first time, Legends will be covering The Flash! Funny it's taken 9 seasons before this happened, but we want to be a part of the show taking its final run. And what you can expect from that is the same unbiased coverage of each episode every week. Whether it's a great one or a disappointing one, you'll get our honest reviews, and as you know us, the Legends, we aren't always on the same page, so it's sure to entertain at the very least!
