When his album “Für alle” reached number one on the German charts in 2004, Laith Al-Deen cemented his reputation as Germany’s answer to Italian superstar Zucchero. Laith Al-Deen, the son of a German mother and an Iraqi father, began his career in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the German band Vega. After touring with the band, he went into the studio with producer Stevie B-Zet and released his first solo album “Ich will nur wissen”... (2000). Laith Al-Deen is proud of his German heritage. The artist stubbornly refuses to change his musical style. Aside from the two English-language singles “Lay Your Love On Me” and “If I Ever Lose My Faith”, which were released in 2009, all of his recordings are in German. When he was nominated for a Comet Award by the German network Viva, the singer declined the nomination, stating that he wanted to be recognized solely for his German-language recordings. He did not seek international fame for his work. In 2004, Laith Al-Deen competed in the German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the single “Höher” from the hit album “Für alle”. In 2016, Laith Al-Deen scored another No. 1 album in Germany with “Bleib unterwegs”. The follow-up album Kein Tag umsonst reached No. 3 on the German charts in 2020. After a brief hiatus, the singer returned in 2024 with the album Dein Begleiter. The album reached No. 15 in Germany.
