ASPO, a French musical collective formed in Bordeaux in 1996 who mainly focused on Jamaican music, particularly ska and rocksteady. They emerged from several local musicians who rehearsed in popular bars before formalising the ensemble. Their first release, Love Potion N°1 (1998), showcased ska roots and early reggae influences, featuring collaborations with notable Jamaican artists. In 2001, In the Web of Love (Love Potion N°2) (2001) expanded the repertoire to include vocal tracks and rocksteady styles. This was followed by the album Romance Without Finance in 2005. ASPO also notably served as backing band for touring Jamaican legends such as Alton Ellis and Carl Dawkins.
