Sweet Exorcist was a British electronic music duo from Sheffield comprising Richard H. Kirk of Cabaret Voltaire and Richard Barratt, better known as DJ Parrot. Becoming active in 1990, the duo became pioneers of the Sheffield "bleep techno" sound with the 1990 Warp Records single "Testone", followed by "Clonk" later that year. Sweet Exorcist released the EP C.C.E.P. in 1991 and the album Spirit Guide to Low Tech in 1994. Their early recordings helped establish Warp Records as a leading electronic music label. A retrospective collection, RetroActivity, was released in 2011, compiling and revisiting much of their influential early work.
