Light This City, a melodic death metal band from San Francisco, California, was formed in 2002 by Tyler Gamlen and Steven Shirley on guitars, Mike Dias on bass, Ben Murray on drums, and Laura Nichol as the lead vocalist. They released their debut album, The Hero Cycle (2003), through Reflections of Ruin Records. The band signed with Prosthetic Records and issued Remains of the Gods (2005). They toured extensively with notable acts like All Shall Perish, Suicide Silence, and Too Pure to Die, and released their third album, Facing the Thousand (2006). In 2008, Light This City announced their disbandment after releasing the studio album Stormchaser (2008). Following a ten-year hiatus, they released the album Terminal Bloom (2018) and performed several concerts across North America and Europe.
