Churchill was an American rock band from Denver, founded in 2008 as a two-piece by Tim Bruns and Mike Morter. By 2009, the group had expanded to five members. Their initial releases included a self-titled EP in 2009 and their first full-length album Happy/Sad in 2011. The band's breakthrough came with the release of their second EP, Change, in early 2012, which reached number 9 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart after they signed with A&M/Octone Records later that year and re-released the album. The title track "Change" became a hit single, peaking at number 17 on the Alternative Songs chart and was an iTunes Free Song of the Week in early 2013. Churchill supported Pink's European leg of The Truth About Love Tour as the main supporting act. Despite plans to release their next full-length album in 2013, the band abruptly disbanded on July 12, 2013, canceling all upcoming appearances.
