Pest, a British band from South London, formed in 2001 with members Ben Mallott as DJ and on keyboards, Matt Chandler on guitar, Tom Marriott on trombone, Wayne Urquhart on cello, and Vesa Haapanen on drums. The group initially released tracks on white labels before signing to Ninja Tune in 2003. Their debut album Necessary Measures was released that same year, followed by the EP Chicken Spit. In 2005, Pest released their second album All Out Fall Out, along with EPs Pat Pong and Wu Ju. The band toured extensively across Europe and Japan, performing at notable venues such as Koko in London and festivals like Les Transmusicales in Rennes. Notable songs include "Slap On Tap" and "Jefferson Shuffle", released in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Their music has been featured in various media, including the video game Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, which used the song "Duke Kerb Crawler".
